Great Value and meets my needs
I purchased this microscope to look at knife blades while learning to sharpen them. I am still learning, but it seems to give me what I am looking for. One trick is to get the lighting right. The knife blades are shiny, and this can cause problems. I also set up my own stand because it better suited what I was doing. Another thing it helped with was seeing a burned-out circuit. My son plugged in a USB device to his laptop, and smoke came out of the USB port. We opened the laptop to see if we could find out what was wrong. I could not see the burned chip with my naked eye, but the microscope saw it very well. Luckily it was on a separate PCB and not the main motherboard. The pictures are of: Band aid - blue weave Hard glasses case - black/gray weave Foam brush - the creepy looking one Knife I sharpened - the blackish portion was from a sharpie so I could where I was sharpening it Phone screen Burned up circuit PCB with the burned-up circuit The factory edge from a new knife My camera setup. An unseen chip on another knife. Pros: Wi-Fi connection to phone. Internal light if needed. Great price for what you get. Rechargeable battery. Picture quality is good if you get the focus and lighting right. Cons: The stand is inadequate for most things. Would like to be able to zoom and focus without touching the microscope The 5-star rating is because of the value. I could spend hundreds or thousands for a better microscope, but this is all I need.

Good scope, good seller, finicky focus ring
Update: I got the stand today, 6 days after getting the microscope. It, the little case it came in, and the service are all worthy of 5 stars - quick turn around, easy folks to work with, excellent quality. Pros: It will take sharp pictures. The WiFi Check app for this specific camera seems to do better than DM WiFi, but it's hard to be certain. Going forward, I intend to use the WiFi Check app as it did install on my old phone. The scope fits in the stand perfectly and everything works (as far as I can tell). Con: It is really hard to get something into sharp focus - I'm photographing paper with writing on it, so this isn't a case of me not understanding depth of field: I've been doing this for 3 years (with 2 previous microscopes like this, so I have lots of experience with these things). I don't know if the depth of field for this camera is less than my old one, or if the focusing ring is more sensitive (it is *very* sensitive), or if it's lag time on the WiFi connection - or perhaps all three. Whatever the case, I find it very hard (but not impossible) to get a sharp picture. For that reason, I'm taking away one star and noting it in this review for future buyers. This isn't a reason not to get the scope, just a note that you may need some more patience. :) Original Review: I've only just gotten this today and done tests, but so far, so good. It took about 3 hours to do the initial charge (the red LED goes off when charged). I was able to use DM Wifi (app already installed on an old Android phone that probably won't take the newer app), so that's a plus. Picture quality looks good, but I'll need to do some more images to get a better idea of its range. As everyone says, the stand is all but useless, but I had my own home-made stand that I was able to attach it to. The free stand is requested and looks much better than my home-made one, so I'm looking forward to that. My biggest concern is whether the battery will last - my previous microscope (not this brand) lasted only 23 months before it wouldn't charge - in this day and age, that's not acceptable, so I guess we'll see how this one does. I'll update this review when I have the stand and after I've done more test images. Full Disclosure: They ask for a screenshot of your 5-star review before you can get the stand.

Astoundingly good digital microscope for the price
This is my second Bysameyee digital microscope- my first was the earlier model with a native camera resolution of 640x480 but somehow managed to pull off a great picture with its optics - this second unit boasts a native 4k resolution with the same 1000x zoom optic. As an added bonus, the 4k model also has a built-in Wi-Fi capability and can run wirelessly with an internal Lithium ion rechargeable battery. Because of this I’m now able to use my iPhone on the fly as a display which ended up being really useful and convenient. The included manual provides a QR code for both iOS and android that will take you to a bare-bones microscope viewer app ambiguously called ‘Wi-Fi-check’ - it gets the job done with minimal fuss by allowing you to point your phone’s Wi-Fi to the microscope which shows up like a private Wi-Fi hotspot device or access point. From there you can select your camera resolution up to 4k and go to work - Easy! Worked great on my kids geode collection. For my garage lab I’ve got an older Dell laptop running Linux and was able to install the ‘Camorama’ video app from the AUR repos without issue. It found the microscope picked up on the supported resolutions up to 4k without any extra configuration and was ready to go pretty quick. I did try this 4k model on my humble Raspberry Pi 2 but the higher resolution was a bit too much for it, so I’ll be keeping the earlier model microscope for that configuration. I also tried out the 4k model on my elderly MacBook Pro 2010 but had to scale the resolution down to 2k for the image to display properly- this wasn’t too surprising given the age of the laptop - 2k was actually quite usable. Bottom line the higher resolution camera on this microscope will require somewhat modern computer hardware to display at it's fullest capability. Usability-wise this 4k unit was fairly straightforward and easy use. The only quirk that took some experimentation to figure out was that because the power button doubles as the snapshot button, to turn the microscope off, you have to press the ‘power’ and ‘zoom +’ buttons simultaneously. Not really an issue once you know that bit. Oh and don’t forget to take the lens cap off prior to use! Given this 4k microscope goes for about as much as the earlier model and is packed with extra features, it’s an absolute bargain and a must-have tool for any hobbyist or repair tech.

Recieved unit today, so this is initial review immediately after setup. As already mentioned in other reviews, the stand that comes with the unit is passable, not great. It does come with a silicon "sticky" base so if you have a relatively smooth surface to stick it to (glossy table top / glass table top) it sorta works, but is therefore pretty limited functionality However, the Camera itself works pretty well : - Wifi Connection (ios) using the Wifi Check app Works well right out of the box with the app; Can be used while charging as well. Downside is that since it uses WiFi connection and not bluetooth, you won't be able to access the internet while using the camera. - On Windows PC Xplodeview and AMCAP (that was listed on the manufacturer website) worked pretty well. However I couldn't get CoolTech Measuring tool to work. Good resolution and easy to use overall, instructions on manufacturer website pretty helpful. The true magnification of the camera is probably closer to maybe 300X (or 400?X) rather than 1000X, but is way more than sufficient for my purpose
