Great game, hours of gameplay!
What a great game (if you're into turn based strategy)! The game itself has 2 parts. One mode is exploring several big maps to find things. It is a top down view of your character on a horse. There are treasures to find, monsters roaming around, and people in castles (or just standing around) to talk to. You can travel to several different lands to do quests for people you meet (everyone has their problems), and have one bigset of missions to complete for your king (he needs a lot of problems solved). You can even get married in the game and have babies?!?! What a concept! Don't worry, the baby/married/divorce stuff is just a couple button clicks. Definitely non graphic. The other mode is a combat map broken into hexes with pieces like a chess board. Each piece is a unit with multiple characters in it (10 frost giants, 50 killer plants, 200 pirates, etc...). This part of the game is great if you're into strategy turn based gameplay. If you need a lot of action, you're going to find this part boring. A few friends of mine watching me play actually didn't know how i stayed awake for this part. This game shines because of the variety of lands to explore, and units to command in the strategy mode. Not a lot of movies to watch and complex puzzles to solve, just a lot of exploring and turn based battles! A great bargain at such a low price if you are a strategy/explorer gameplayer. One more thing: the graphics are great, and you'll want a pretty decent graphics card for this one. My 4gb laptop with integrated graphics is a little herky-jerky. My 2gb desktop with a decent graphics card runs it fine, though.

Could Not Run it
I tried this on Windows XP 32bit with 4GB and ATI 2100 graphics, but it locked up the system on the screen of the tutorial when you talk to the first person.I then tried it on a computer with Windows 7 64 bit, 4 GB, and a BFG 9800GT graphics card.It made it past the first fight with a dragon, but every time I tried to return out of the dungeon it aborted out with an illegal Direct3d call and ended the program. I tried saving and loading the save and it made no difference. If you like this type of game, I got Fantasy Wars ( Fantasy Wars ) to run on the computer with Windows XP 32bit, 4GB and ATI 2100 graphics.

Could be a Great Game if it didnt CRASH in Vista
I would normally give this game 4 of 5 stars losing only one for lack of replay value because of the single scenario. The game is fun interesting & witty in spots and even allows for character growth and customization. The graphics are beautiful and music is good if abit repetitive. The one thing I can't stand is that even after they have issued a patch for some issues it still crashes every few hours and this game takes many hours to play. Now I dont know about most of you but having to reboot vista without being able to shut the computer down because of a game bug is not my idea of cool

The Ratings on Amazon are Miseading
This game is not nearly as good as some reviewers would lead you to believe. The story was very dull and inane, and the combat did not make up for the lack of a credible tale (or a decent English translation for that matter). The creators of this game have decided that increased difficulty does not mean you need solid tactics or lateral thinking, rather the more difficult areas of the game require the player to defeat a few hordes of enemies and return to a merchant a few load screens away to replenish your units, which translates into mind-numbing tedium. The game isn't terrible, but it definitely is not engrossing or fun. The graphics (while not up to industry standards) are rather appealing in a Warcraft III sort of way. Everything is colorful, bright, and clunky. And when the sub-par graphics are the only positive thing you can write about a game, you know it has problems. Also, this game is incredibly long. Long games are generally a bonus. Generally because the increased game time means more bang for you buck. If King's Bounty turned out to be a ton of hours full of thoughtful sub-quests and fun combat, then I would rate this game likable. As it stands, King's Bounty is nothing more than hours and hours of boring unfulfilling waste of free time in a world where free time is precious. If you want a good video game, I don't recommend this. If you want a fancy version of chess, enjoy staring blankly at paint while it dries, and don't have a sense of what a good video game experience is, then I definitely recommend this for you!
