Hi, this metal detector will detect through dirt about 6cm, but generally, the larger the target, the stronger the signal and distance it will detect. If the target is tiny, you will have to move closer for detection.

Will this detect metal property line pins?

This is mainly for pinpointing something in the dirt after a metal detector has found it. But to answer your question, possibly it would find a metal property line pin, IF you sorta knew where it was. But I would rather search for a metal property line pin with an actual metal detector, which will give you the general area of where it is, and then use this to further pinpoint where it is.
