It says in the description, Metal Film, which is one big step better than Carbon Film, and for MOST but RF applications, Carbon Composition (very old style) resistors that easily absorb moisture and increase in value and noise!!!

Do the leads on the ½ watt resistors fit comfortably into solderless breadboards?

I have no problems with my breadboards. These work better than 1/4 watt contacts which are often too loose.
