This light is very good. I had bought a less expensive head light and it did not work the way I wanted it. In order to change lights you had to cycle by pushing the same button. This light has a wheel that allows you to select and stay on that light type. If I have any gripe its that the red light could be stronger but typically the red light is meant to be dark part of that is so it doesn't affect your eye's night vision. The IR and regular lights are bright and it has multiple ways to mount. I have it mounted to my helmet and it works great

Very bright with the 3 different variations of brightness and also the capability of being able to program your light option between red, green, or blue. Very compact and easy to mount on helmet. IFF is very easy to use but also love the fact it has a safety feature on it so you cant accidently turn IFF on. Feels very durable, and the strong velcro it comes with makes stability not even a question

Most quality gear associated with night vision is ridiculously expensive or garbage. This little light gives a lot of functionality for a reasonable price—using it as a helmet mount and the IR is great for a task light or illuminating a room indoors with NVGs. The red and white are nice to have when not using NVGs and it is easy to tell the setting by touch with the raised indicator on the dial

It's great in a zero light environment. But it's not bright enough in medium to low light environments. The IR IFF beacon works great. The IR illuminator is about the same brightness as on the PVS-14. The switch is very intuitive. The flexible boom on the light is a game changer. It allows you to keep your light signature localized while performing tasks. I really like the high, medium, low option. I don't think that the blue light option is bright enough to follow a blood trail though.

These are very nice little lights. It’s made to be mounted onto a tactical helmet or molle webbing. It’s for close up administrative purposes, not illumination at a distance. It has white light, red/blue/green light, and IR. All three light choices can also be set to a strobe function. Each light setting has 3 levels of intensity. The gooseneck is perfect. Highly recommended.

I have been running this light on my helmet for the past year and it has held up really well. The IR on it works better than I thought when purchasing. I have also used this light on my hats while camping with my family. The battery life gets roughly 30 hrs of use. The light is surprisingly strong for the size of this thing. The light throw is effective up to 15-20 feet and the IR is roughly the same. It is a nice light in a small form factor and has many use cases. This is an essential to anyone's kit.

This thing broke pretty quickly. There is a tiny stem that is holding it in place on the arc rails. If that thing breaks then it’s just wiggling al over the place. Guess what… that happened to me. Plus it’s not very bright. I was fine with that because it was a map reading light but the stupid thing broke. I would not buy this again for this price and it being that flimsy.

I bought this to replace my x2AA Sidewinder, but decided to keep both. The Stalk is better for use with night operations since it has a built in IR strobe identifier, but it lacks the spotlight throw distance of the original. The light on the Stalk is much more diffused, which I think is better for navigating or simply lighting up a room. It easily lit up a 2 car garage with almost no dark corners like a floodlight. Whereas the original has a confined beam, but with an additional brightness setting (4 vs the Stalk's 3). If you can only get one the Stalk would do you better being more versatile, but if you're looking for something more like a typical flashlight that shines over distance then go with the OG.
