Works with BlueIris, good quality video. Needs strong wifi signal if not hard wired.
I have three of these. Excellent value. They set up easily and work well. If you have a lot of devices on your wi-fi, you'll occasional see the video degrade and sort of blank out. Not the camera's fault, wifi signal problem. I had to put in a couple of extenders, but if there stuff in the way to degrade signal (Headers, metal sofits, walls, etc.) this will happen. I put an SD card into the cams, and they keep working even if the wifi glitchs. Good quality video, the AI is okay, it's follows movement, and my flying flag sort of messes with one of my cams... They work with my BlueIris software without issues. One con, as with all CCD cameras, 4K or not, they can't give you good license plate reads with cars driving by. At night time, forget about it, if the plates are 'reflective' you'll get no license plate. For license plate reading you really need to spend $$$ to get optical cameras, not CCD digitals. Other than that, video quality is good enough you can identify people.

Perfect Outdoor Camera!
This is a fantastic camera for the home or office. One of the best things about this camera is the fact that it has Wi-Fi built into the camera which makes this such a simple and fast install. Installation of this camera was extremely easy, and I was able to set up the camera outside within 5 minutes. I already had the Amcrest Smart Home app for my other cameras. Adding this camera was extremely simple. I have experience setting up cameras, but I made my wife set up the camera on the App and she was able to scan the QR code and set up the camera with ease. When getting notifications, I am really impressed how smooth and fast the replay is. Human tracking is such a beautiful tool. I had multiple occasions when this feature worked well including when I had the landscaper mowing my lawn. The auto tracking features is one key point that makes this camera standout versus other options. This camera also has other features like the spot light and siren which can automatically be triggered (if desired). I love that this camera has 4MP camera which captures HD footage and it does really well at night obtaining footage in color. Overall, this camera is extremely simple to operate and is a perfect camera for home or work. The camera is very affordable given all the fancy features it has. In my opinion, this is one of the best PTZ cameras on the market especially for the price. 5-Stars for this product, must buy!

Amcrest Camera: High-End Features, Budget-friendly Price
The camera quality of the Amcrest meets the expectations, delivering the promised performance. It features a zoom function, although it's not optical and the more you use the digital zoom, the grainier the picture becomes. You have the option to connect it to an internet cable, which will require running the cable. Unfortunately, it lacks a Power over Ethernet (PoE) option, which could have been a handy feature. Despite this, I found setting it up on my Wi-Fi to be a straightforward process, which will likely appeal to the majority of users. The customer support provided by Amcrest is commendable. I purchased a used camera that was missing some hardware and linked to someone else's email. I contacted Amcrest through their support website and the issue was resolved promptly. The camera was unlocked within a few hours and the replacement hardware arrived a few days later. All they required was my Amazon invoice information. The setup process is incredibly user-friendly – scan the QR code and follow the instructions to have the camera up and running in minutes. It's also easy to customize your settings. The camera and its accompanying app do not require a monthly fee. You can choose to store your recordings on the cloud for a fee, or locally on an SD card at no extra cost. I opted for the latter. The motion tracking works effectively, although it can be overly sensitive in certain conditions such as rain, causing frequent alerts. To counter this, I deactivated the motion tracking alerts and only used the human tracking feature. The human tracking function is adequate. It tracks my movement for a few seconds before returning to its default position, and then resumes tracking if I'm still within its field of view. While it would be preferable if it continuously tracked a person, it's worth noting that this is a $100 camera with a built-in human tracking feature. Comparable cameras with this feature usually fall within the $400-$500 range. The notification customization for motion and human tracking is a feature I truly appreciate. I set mine to alert me when it detects motion or humans from 10pm to 6am, while still recording all motion throughout the day. Notifications are promptly delivered to my phone, allowing me to promptly see what caused the alert. In terms of rating, I would give: Price: 5/5 Ease of Use: 5/5 Features: 4/5 Software: 3/5 Customer Support: 5/5 For the average homeowner, this camera provides great value for money

If you need customer support forget about it
If you should need customer support, I assure you that it is the primary job of Amcrest support to fined a way to totally deny any claim you may have regardless of validity. This is my honest opinion and experience. It seems they are trained to stonewall you into submission so that you give up and move on. The representative will tell you to try things that make no sense and make no difference. They are really good at stonewalling and deflecting so I am all but positive they are trained to do just that. The cameras themselves are not bad (if they work). I've bought about 10 Amcrest cameras in the past year and most do work well. Some are obviously bad and have bad colors or some of the features don't work while on another of the exact same camera the feature works fine. Here's my very best advice to you. Try the camera immediately after you receive it. Go through everything. If you have a problem, send it back and try another. It is my opinion from having to do this more than a few times that they take defective cameras and repackage them and send them out again knowing that the next person will either not try the camera before the 30 day return period is up or not notice the defect. When you do get a good one they are good cameras and work well.

Great CAMERA with the WORST SOFTWARE
The first picture is taken at night with 500 watt quartz floodlights. The tank is about 90 ft away, the RV at the far right a little farther and the power pole in the distance above the tank is 625 ft away. This is with the IR turned off and the camera on color at night. The second picture is with the quartz floodlights off. The third picture is in night mode with the camera's built in IR light. It is snowing so the streaks are falling snow. (Yes, on April 21, it is snowing.) As you can see the camera is great. But the software absolutely sucks. I could have hired a party time high school student to do a better job in both design and implementation. (Ok, I might have helped some but hey, I'm supposed to be the customer!) The camera HAS to be configured using an app on an ios or android phone. No choice. The app does not resize if you have a larger screen such as on an ipad. (Guess what screen I'm using.) You HAVE to have an internet connection, so if you are in a remote area, you're screwed. You HAVE to use the app to turn the white light on and off as this is not on the "Pro" software that will run on a Windows OS. The light does not have ON, OFF and STROBE as separate selections, you have to CYCLE through all three selections to go from OFF to ON to STROBE then back to OFF. I can see an argument for saving the cost of a button when it's a PHYSICAL button but an effen software button when you have only TWO buttons on the whole screen? Eh? You cannot change the IR day/night configuration on the app, you HAVE to use the "Pro" software on a Windows OS, so if all you have is a phone you're screwed. The app is buggy and does things like does not display buttons and banners entirely and it has one way holes in menus where you can get in but you can't get out so you end up having to manually kill restart the app to get out of the menu hole. (Think of it as a directed graph where you have a node you can't get out of because it has no outward edge and you have the right idea.) Every other Amcrest camera I have (and I've got quite a few and different models) all have FTP and browser interfaces. It was very convenient. Those little cameras work away all day passing images to an FTP server eventually getting put on a website. So pretty! But now... THERE IS NO FTP OR BROWSER INTERFACE! What imbecile took out those features? Now there is no automated way to extract video or photo from the camera! If you want to save any data you have to save it to an on board SD card or pump it up into the Amcrest "cloud" and given how half baked the software is I'm not going to even bother touching their dreaded "cloud" nonetheless buying some stinking per camera per day subscription so I can do "cloud" storage and playback. Surely you are joking Mr. Amcrest! THERE IS NO BROWSER INTERFACE EITHER! Who did that? Fire them. The app is defective and the "Pro" software is defective and a browser was a great way to get around those errors, but NO some idiot had to remove those features? Come on man! Are you telling me your code isn't sufficiently modular to permit simple reuse in a camera that except for the sensor seems virtually identical to other earlier models? Amcrest YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF IT YOU HAD JUST CHANGED THE SENSOR AND ENCLOSURE AND KEPT THE REST OF THE OLD PTZ INDOOR PRODUCT! I corresponded with the vendor on this and they were polite and apologetic but unfortunately they did not find and crucify the moron that did this to what otherwise should be a FIVE STAR PRODUCT.

I've had Amcrest Camera's for years now and my comments are based upon many years of use.
I've had Amcrest Camera's for years now and my comments are based upon many years of use. The older camera's that use the Amcrest View Pro program were fairly reliable although they constantly needed resetting. When they were working the video was good but there was a fair amount of resetting. I lived with it because it was inconvenient to change them. Recently, I decided to replace the camera's with new ones and so far my experience hasn't been particularly good. The newer cameras don't use the old Amcrest Pro software and instead require the use of the newer Amcrest Pro Surveillance software – which is not completely compatible with the older software. All of the Amcrest software is not particularly well designed with the icons very small and hard to read. Even the text within the programs is so small that it's very difficult to read. Extremely poor software design. Installing the camera was not particularly difficult and I managed to get it running – for a day. After the first day, the software could not bring up the camera and I could no longer view the video. The wifi signal is strong (the camera is about 100 feet from the router). About a day later, it started working again for a while and the next day it stopped. I could call the tech support line but my experience – which is about 3 years old – was so difficult it was nearly useless although with hours of perseverance I did get things going. If you are going to get tech support help plan to spend an afternoon with someone difficult to understand and not particularly savvy. At that time most of the tech support was offshore but when I actually spoke to tech support in Texas they were pretty good. The tech support here in the states is only available if your problem is escalated. I don't know if that is still true. I plan on taking my new Amcrest Camera's and trashing them. They are not worth all of the trouble and because they've been installed I can't do returns. Just can't spend hours of my time talking to tech support when they should work out of the box. Extremely disappointing...

Great Camera
This has been a great camera to watch the wildlife in my yard. It’s very easy to set up and I watch on my phone. The motion detection is super and the camera moves around to view different angles. There are many options available when setting up the camera. The customer service is outstanding. I had some issues with my wi-fi going in and out and emailed the company and they answered right away. They stayed with me and we got the issue resolved. I really appreciated the help.

Great camera, once you get it configured.
I like these cameras. Of course, I have been an Amcrest customer for many years, and own a variety of their cameras to go with my Amcrest NVR. This ASH47-W is my third. I have one on the shed I call Prairie Dog and one on the back porch I call Bird Dog. Prairie Dog is quick to catch any motion and follow it around, lighting up the back yard, whether it's a person, animal, or even raindrops. Bird Dog works about the same, but since it's under a cover, it's a little more relaxed and less excitable. My latest one I call Hound Dog, and it replaced one of my other cameras on the front porch. I wanted to be able to track people coming in for deliveries or visitors. My only major criticism for these cameras is on the setup. You HAVE to use their Amcrest Smart Home app for a smart phone (either IOS or Android), and I am not a big fan of that. All their other cameras can be accessed via the NVR, Amcrest Surveillance Pro for PC, or even directly through the IP for initial setup and configuration. Even after you set it up with the phone, you can't directly access through the IP. You need to adjust settings through the phone, NVR, or ASP program, but that's no biggie. I had to wait several days for Amcrest to fix their Smart Home app on IOS before I could even get Hound Dog set up and in place, but their customer service was understanding and let me know the device wasn't defective and to please be patient. They let me know as soon as the app was updated so I could configure the newest camera. Now Hound Dog joins the other two smart cameras and 13 other various Amcrest cameras set up around the house and property. Note that the ASH47-W is not POE so you will need a power source nearby, and while the WiFi is nice for putting it up in a remote location, I have found it tends to drop frames when trying to retrieve recordings of incidents and activities from the NVR. I have all of mine wired for much better reliability. You can always insert a MicroSD chip and retrieve videos directly from the camera.
