This is my BABY !!!!!! Read this REAL review !!
I bought this a few years ago. I really wasn't expecting this grill to still be perfect. Most grills just stop working. But, this specific grill is my go to cooker. I cook EVERYTHING on it. I cook ribs, chicken, spaghetti (yes spaghetti by just adding water and salt just enough to cover the spaghetti in water) and it comes out like a restaurant meal !! I even cook rice in it with peppers, onions and stuffed olives. Yummy !! Here is a trick I do to cook in this. I remove the actual grill part. Then I insert the electric connection by lowering a button that clamps it in. Then I put regular cooking pots on top of the hot grill area and it serves as a regular stove as well. Do not do that using ceramic pots. Use aluminum or iron pots. I only do that when cooking eggs or soups or rice. But when cooking stuff like meats I leave the original grill part in and cook anything in a couple of hours. It gets hot right away. So this is the real deal. I always cook at 350 degrees and NOT any hotter to not trip the electric circuit in the house. That temperature is perfect to cook anything all the time. The top non stick layers does wear off quickly but I don't care because washing it is so simple by just pouring water in the grill area and letting it heat up to a quick boil. Then I just pour the water out and wipe it down. I don't use any soap in it. Even with grease leftovers the hot water detaches the oil from the grill within a few minutes of it boiling. If the food is somehow stuck on the pot too much then pour water into the grill and let it sit over night with the lid on it with the grill off. The next morning all the food parts come right out. I have had NO problems using this grill for the last two years. Not more to say than that. Yeah, this is the one to buy !! Five year update on this grill: I bought this grill on June 2020. This update is now on June 2025. I still love my grill and I'm still using it daily to cook all my lunch and dinner meals. The heating floor still works perfectly and the rest of the grill parts have not broken or teared. Yes I still love my grill. It is definitely wide enough. It is about 13 inches long and 10 inches wide for pots other than the actual grill (those are the measurements inside the actual cooking surface. The outer parts including the handles and outer grill holder areas are longer and wider. Get it.

Cooking surface the size of a flight deck.
This thing is awesome! When I looked across the cooking surface I had flashbacks to my time in the Navy stationed aboard an aircraft carrier looking across the flight deck. In other words, it's huge! I bought this because I'm often juggling stove top real estate and while I have a double burner griddle it is about 15 years old and the non-stick isn't what it used to be. Besides that there were times it just wasn't big enough. Those days are gone. I can still use all four gas burners and now the huge cooking surface of the Zojirushi EA-DCC10. I haven't done breakfast on it yet, but you could pretty much cook everything on this one griddle all at the same time. I also own a Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5 1/2 cup rice cooker and my satisfaction with that item made purchasing this Zojirushi product that much easier. I've just received this griddle and used it twice. First was for carne asada tacos. It was a breeze cooking the meat, enough for my three person family to have three large tacos apiece. After I had cooked the meat most of the way I moved it over to one side and could fry up the tortillas, four at a time with the meat still cooking on one side (cilantro lime rice cooking away in my Zojirushi rice cooker). Could easily do six tacos sized tortillas at once if thats all you were doing. The non-stick was perfect and cleaned easily with a paper towel. Next I cooked about three pounds of chopped chicken thighs to make my lunches for the week. Once the chicken was nice and browned I again moved it to one side and cooked diced onion and jalapeno on the other side before mixing it together once the onions were soft. I normally do this in a skillet and remove the meat after it's brown and cook the onions then add the meat back. With this I was able to do it all on this one surface. I will update this review as I use the griddle more, but out of the box and after the first couple uses I'm very happy with my purchase. **UPDATE** Man, this thing continues to impress. I cook on this several days every week and have been enjoying every minute of it. I already cooked a lot from scratch, so it isn't like I'm cooking because I have the sizzler, but I have moved the majority of my cooking from the stovetop to this unit and my results have improved. I've cooked everything from NY Strip steaks, pork loin chops, flank steak, cubed chicken thighs, eggs, ham, homestyle potatoes, fish to onions and sauerkraut. The size is awesome. It's safe to say you could cook about 5lbs of chopped meat on this thing, no problem. The outer edge stays completely cool to the touch. The surface cleans very easily. After about a month the non-stick is looking rock solid. It's an attractive piece of cooking equipment. Loving it!

Love the size. Love the engineering. Love the results.
This thing is BIG. It was a Christmas present to my wife. We love it and use it at least a few times a month to make pancakes loaded with nutritional ingredients to freeze for our special needs son who is a very picky eater. My wife doesn’t spend four hours cooking them anymore thanks to its size and quick even heating. It cooks so evenly thanks to its lengthy winding heating coil. She loads them up and on the Zojirushi and is done in a fraction of the time. There are two tiny spots where the coating is flaking off despite using the special rounded edge spatula that came with the Zojirushi and what we typically use, which is ba silicon spatula. Maybe we bumped it with something. Otherwise holding up well. She had said when it wears out we’re getting another one.

Fantastic so far
It heats up fast, non-stick is great, huge, and easy to clean. The temperature setting doesn't match the actual temperature according to my IR thermometer. It's usually measures about 500 deg F when I have it set at 425 deg.

Very good, not as good as it could be.
In reading the other reviews, I had the sense that this would be a very solid commercial grade griddle. Based upon the price (about 3 times more expensive than other brands) I expected this to be head and shoulders above the competition which consists of mainly flimsy, poorly designed units which seem to have a very short life span, uneven heating and questionable non-stick coatings. So, the unit is manufactured by Zojirushi. The name may seem familiar to those who eat at sushi bars as Zojirushi seems to make all of the commercial refrigeration units which display the fresh fish on top of the bar. My impression of the griddle is not quite as positive as many of the reviews may portray. It IS definitely a better quality--marginally--in some ways. There are four main pieces: A metal base which contains the heating coil, a very solid metal griddle with a waffle pattern which is removable and washable,a sort of flimsy lid which could be used to keep food warm and a plug in thermostat which is similar to most of the other units of this type. In use, I noted what other reviewers have-- that the thermostat i s WAY off. When I set it at 325 degrees, the griddle surface reached almost 500 degrees in some places and seemed to average around 425. Not sure why this is but it is certainly something that you would notice if you were trying to cook pancakes. When I reduced the temperature to 300 degrees, the griddle seemed to settle in around 375 to 400-- still too hot but usable for cooking. The cooking surface itself (removable) is the best feature of this unit--very large, heavy and easily removed and cleaned. The non-stick surface seems more durable than other griddles I have owned and the manufacturer supplies a stainless steel spatula-- my feeling is that you should continue to use the nylon spatula usual to these non-stick surfaces to avoid scratches and wear. Note that fat and grease does NOT drain from the griddle surface but is contained within by a lip. In my opinion, this is a better arrangement than messy grease traps and drip containers which never seem well designed and are hard to clean. You can lift the cooking surface off the base and drain any fat by tipping (just like an oven tray.) In use, and with the caveats mentioned, the unit cooks very evenly, cleans well and seems well designed and reasonably durable. My reservation is simply that this is good but not necessarily worth the substantial additional investment required for the quality received. I will update as I learn more.

Finally found the perfect griddle… BUT!!!
***UPDATE*** Im leaving my reviews at 5 stars because I love this product, but I cannot recommend buying it through this seller. They are not an authorized dealer so the manufacturer won’t honor their warranty. *** No, it's not just a griddle, how dare you! It's a work or art! Okay, it's just a griddle, but it a REALLY good griddle and I've been looking around for a long time. Bought and returned a few (sorry Amazon), but I finally bit the bullet and spent more than I would have ever thought. but it was totally worth it. Some of the things that make this so great... The burner isn't attached to the cooking surface so it heats the air underneath and that creates a very even cooking surface. How about pancakes that look like pancakes and not rorschach tests, but rather golden brown? Clean up. Clean up is another amazing feature because it comes apart completely. The base, burner, cook surface all come apart allowing you to use soap and water and not just wipe things down. One note! The base is hollow, so you can clean it but be careful because if you run water directly on it, you will get water taped inside. Learned the hard way and had to take it apart to dry. The lid. I was standing over an entire pack of bacon snapping grease spits of death when I remembered, duh, a lid. No moe burns. The cord. Ever notice that your griddle either forces you to use an extension cord or somehow have a custom griddle spot on your counter with an outlet 1 foot from the griddle? This comes with a nice long cord that actually lock in and when it's locked it also locks in the cooking surface. My last griddle, on the first use I wasn't thinking and used a metal spatula. Big scratch, right out the gate. This COMES with a metal spatula. It's not a delicate non-stick surface. It's heavy duty. Flip and smash those burgers! I had family over and I was working the line like a pro, cooking for 6, 3 cakes at a time then into the oven to stay warm. Bacon on one side. Hash on the other (little bacon grease seeps into the hash, gotta love it). I t was actually fun to cook for 6 people. As you can see I've completely geeked out over this. I love cooking and I love when I get an kitchen item that really improves the experience. Air Fryer. Instant Pot. A griddle that can actually handle restaurant style cooking. You're in the hall of fame. Stop looking. Spend the extra.

A fantastic griddle, with no harmful chemicals.
This unit does take a solid 7-8 minutes to heat up, but when it does, it provides the most evenly heated electric griddle surface I've ever used. It's super awesome. Just buy it.

Engineers made this not bean counters.
Impressive. For the money I think that this is the best on the market and at this point I would have paid more. Heating is as evenly spread across the plate as you could hope for, the biggest reason why the heat is even is because the heating element is separate from the food plate which allows the air to heat the plate and not from direct contact with the heating element like most electric griddles. The heating element is designed to cover the whole surface of the plate; not just the outside leaving a cooler center or a hotter area where the control plug in inserted. Now for this type of setup it will take longer to reach your desired temperature, but I found after the first time I used it that I was able to cook 4 sausage patties, 2 eggs and a pile of hash browns at the same time before the unit hit 325 to 350 degrees without all of the popping and spattering of grease because it got to hot. On a side note: I cooked two eggs over medium with out using butter or oil to keep them from sticking, hash browns came out perfect, sausage cooked without leaving anything stuck or burnt to the plate. Clean up is very easy thanks to the non stick surface and pouring water in right after you use it. I think that I can honestly say the company that made this product is after performance and not a bottom line. I'm impressed and I love breakfast. Update: I just made Flawless scrambled eggs and bacon, crispy bacon not burnt bacon or limpy grease soaked bacon. This thing cooks like a gas stove. On another note, you will not believe how long the power cord is, they must have made a mistake, its 6 foot long. The only negative point I can make about this product is that I do not know how to pronounce the name of the company that made it. Update:11/5/16 Heating questions answered Just recently got a FLIR camera for my phone and decided to investigate any complaints about uneven heating. Now the FLIR device does have its limitations; the device only reads a temp up to 248*, so I couldn't track it up to preheat levels. Even so, you still get a very good idea of the balanced heating that is achieved through the product design. Now temperature control might be another story for you but you should be able to figure that one out after using it a few times. On another note, I have used this for over 2 years now and the surface still looks brand new; no scratches, nothing flaking off and no discolorations.

Best electric griddle I have ever used
I bought this electric griddle after my third one (other brands) in 5 years broke on me. I hadn't been all that happy with the past ones (as the heat distribution was awful). I was "this" close to giving up on electric griddles entirely, but really liked that this Zojirushi griddle has an element that really covers the entire cooking area. So I figured it would be worth the higher cost. Turns out I was absolutely right - the griddle does have very good heat distribution (no more "musical chairs" with pancakes to keep them cooking evenly!) The griddle also has plenty of power - I haven't had to cook at a temperature beyond the pre-heat range yet (with other griddles, I sometimes doubted that they ever got up to temperature). You're supposed to pre-heat the griddle for 8 minutes, which makes a real difference to the heat distribution, as well - that's enough time to pre-heat while you mix up pancakes. I love that the griddle plate has high sides, which makes turning food much easier, and makes it possible to use the griddle for foods beyond pancakes. While the Zodoesn't have the grease drain like other electric griddles, you can make gravy or sauces while cooking your food. I also find I use less oil in this pan because it doesn't all drain away. The pieces are so easy to clean - everything comes apart, and you don't ever have to immerse the element part in water. The lid is is very useful for evenly cooking meat or thicker foods, as it traps the heat. Probably more energy efficient that way, too. The lid is a bit light - it would be very easy to bend it if you're not careful (don't put anything heavy on top of it) - and you have to be careful when lifting it because there's no central knob on top, and you have to lift from the ends. Make sure to lift the lid open AWAY from you to avoid getting steam in your face. (If I had any suggestions on product improvement, it would be to make the lid sturdier, add a handle on top for lifting, and put in a steam vent.) All told, I'm very happy with my Zojirushi griddle and would recommend it over any other griddle I've tried (and I've had at least 7-8 over the past 15 years).

breakfast anyone?
great device, is well made, cooks very evenly everywhere. Heats up a bit slow. Lid doesn't seem to fit perfectly everytime, its kind of loose and just sits on the top of each corner a small amount. . The only other negative i have is there really isn't anywhere for the extra oil or scraps to go when cooking. For instance if you cook a pack of bacon after you have all that grease leftover and you can't just pick up the device and dump the grease into a cup cause its all plugged in. I found myself unplugging it, putting on oven mits, picking up the middle insert and then dumping it.

Excellent Griddle but be aware replacement parts are difficult to get.
We absolutely loved this griddle. Far superior over the Teflon griddles we have had in the past. Nice even cooking. We have used the hell out of this griddle to the point where we are starting to notice some sticking. I understand you can get a replacement pan for these, however, in my searching, have found that all the replacement griddle pans are “sold out”. Not sure if that’s a ploy to buy a new unit, but not happy none are available and a new griddle has gone up quite a bit in cost since we bought ours. It is still useable but with sticking, it’s a bit tougher to clean. I would have given it 5 stars if not for this. It’s lasted 4 years.

My Dad made fun of me buying this, 18 months later he asked me to order one for him!
This is a super expensive frying griddle. It doesn’t have a hole (which some reviews take as a negative and I think is a POSITIVE). It’s easy to clean, but will not fit in most dishwashers (for me, it will but as the ONLY thing on the bottom rack). I bought it right as covid hit and my Dad made fun of my “$200 griddle”. After multiple uses at the cottage, he came to me and asked where I got it and if I could get him one. Both of them heat evenly and cook a variety of things. The lid is awesome for heating stuff quickly and then using as a “keep warm” function for stuff like taco meat. I have used this for way more than the pan it replaced, and often its just left on the counter from breakfast for heating simple things for lunch. Cons: Its really big Pros: Its really big You will like it.
