Q: I live in Montana will this keep my tank from freezing when in use I can't seem to find anything about that

I live at 7,000 ft in CO and my tank "lives" outside. I never had an issue with the tank freezing. The cover is waterproof.

Q: Will this help protect from heat from storing in bed of truck when camping?

I'm Sure it will provide a small measure of protection from the sun. (if I understand your question correctly) But only when storing or transporting. I would not recommend using the tank while it is on the truck bed just for safety reasons.
