CamelBak Magnetic Tube Trap, Grey, One Size

I've bought a few of these now for myself and for friends to be used with a variety of bladder manufacturers. I use mine with an insulated Hydrapak bladder hose and it works great. The slide-in magnetic combination is more secure than the Osprey keepers I've used in the past. It takes some adjustments and practice to get the release right while running, but it isn't terribly difficult. The only challenge I've had is finding a good spot for the pack side to attach securely. Not all packs have a piece of fabric wide or durable enough to keep it in place securely, and both pieces come with the hose.

I like my older CamelBak but the tube always presented an issue. I don't know if it's because of my smaller upper body proportion but the mouthpiece knocked against my arm as I walked and I found myself pushing it up out of the way, but then the tube would hit the back of my neck. This clip keeps the tube where I want it and because it rotates it's at the perfect angle. I was worried there wouldn't be a place to fix it on to the strap, but luckily there's a piece of fabric on the strap that's the perfect width for the clip to wrap around. Wish I'd thought of getting this years ago!

Finally a hydration hose holder that does not fail in critical time. I was frustrated with traditional magnet holders from Osprey and others that seem to fail in the worst time. The one from CamelBack holds the hydration securely, easy to attach and remove when needed. I am replacing all mine with this new Tube Trap.

The combined mechanical/magnetic clip is the most secure one I’ve found, but the fit is too tight for insulated drinking tubes.

So happy with this purchase-it fits my insulated water hose--I had a hard time finding a magnetic one that would fit the large hose size. The magnet works great! Be sure to measure the strap you are going to hook it to on your pack--my strap is a little too narrow and it tends to slide off but I am going to secure it so it can't slide off!

Once you have this attached to your water hydration system there is no going back. While I had concerns about the magnet being strong enough to hold during use, that was not the case. Good engineering makes this simple and consistent to use. One less thing to fuss over. I also bought one and attached it to the hydration system on my bikepacking bike.

I 'finally' found a Magnetic Hydration Pack Tube 'Magnetic' keeper 'That Actually Works!' I've purchased many magnetic tube holders, sadly all of them are junk, well Camelbak's new Magnetic 'Tube Trap' actually works and works well, the clip holding the tube will go directly straight into the magnetic base but won't come out straight, it must be slid sideways to get it to release, the magnet is super strong , I can plainly see a horseshoe shaped metal clip in the receiving cavity that must be the key to it's ability to hold the tube clip in place until the user slides it out sideways, I am 'Totally Impressed' with Camelbak's new Hydration Tube 'Trap,' now they need to start manufacturing them in more colors than gray. I Totally Recommend Camelbak's Magnetic Tube Trap to everyone, you can stop wasting your hard earned money on worthless magnetic tube keepers of all makes! Thank You Camelbak for manufacturing these great tube traps.
