Intruiging concept
In the last 20 years I have gone through more than 30 pillows always searching for one that would give me a restful sleep and help relieve the neck tension that accompanies me on a regular basis from the rigors and tribulations of daily life. This pillow intrigued me as it had several unique features and I was hopeful as I often am with a new pillow purchase that this might just be 'the one'. I first tried it with air as it seemed the easiest way to get an initial impression and I fear water in a pillow would make it heavy and risk the potential to leak. The trial with air went ok but I was wanting more than just 'ok', so I then opted for the trial with water. With the ability to adjust the amount of water as with the air, one could determine the resting height and stiffness desired. I prefer the water but it does make for a heavier pillow, and there is either a small leak or moisture from condensation at the site of the pouring spout which is a little concerning but not enough to dissuade me from a restful sleep if that were the only detractor. Then there is the really unique feature of the flexible wooden slats. There are 2 of these that are meant to be slid into the bottom of the pillow to add stiffness. There are two slots sewn into the bottom of the pillow to accommodate these. I believe the idea is to make the water filled pillow less floppy and to add a type of skeleton structure to the pillow. To me that shows creative thinking on the part of the designers, and there are likely people who would favor this. The slats are arranged along the long axis of the pillow one each on the top and bottom. With both in place you have a more stiff pillow. With only one in place you have the option of having it on the top or bottom. I have of course tried it both ways. However if you are one as I am, who often slides their arm under the pillow while sleeping you may find this a double edged sword. With the wooden slats on the bottom side I find a problem with compression of my brachial artery leading to tingling in my arm from the hindered circulation. I am likely to go back to no slat as I have had the pillow about a month now and am still experimenting. You will also have to reckon with the nozzle cap on the under side being a prominent fixture of the pillow. Though I personally am able to easily ignore this though some may find it a hindrance.I am strongly wondering whether a better solution to water would be to try baby oil as this would be less 'slushy' when changing head positions. I have not done that as I fear this may disrupt the integrity of the lining and destroy the pillow. There is mention that this pillow is doctor designed but I'm not seeing what type of doctor. As a Family Physician myself I understand the contributory value that an effective pillow brings to a good nights sleep.Overall I score 4 stars but would have given 4.5 if that were an option with the breakdown of a solid 5 for creativity and ingenuity, but a 4 for overall functionality.

Hard to get comfort level in neck area just right. Have to work at it.
I still haven't really found a way to get the pillow to really support my neck the way I'd like. Whatever pillow I use, I like to really get it up into my neck, but it's a little difficult to do that with this pillow. I wish the poly-fill sections would wrap around the edges so that edge of the bladder can't be felt. I feel the edge of the bladder a little bit, with my hands and my neck, as I try to position the pillow into my neck.I still need to work on finding the right amount of water and right amount of poly-fill. I'd recommend holding onto the plastic bag that the pillow comes in, because you can keep your re-fill funnel and the bamboo inserts in there, plus you can take out some of the poly-fill if you think there's too much of it in the pillow - and keep it in the plastic bag, as you try to find the amount you want to keep in pillow. I like that they made the poly-fill sections accessible with another zipper for that section. You can alter the amounts of the fiber-fill in all 3 of the channels, which has been convenient. They say returns are only accepted if the pillow is unused, and there's a 20% restocking fee. So I'll keep the pillow but it's not my main pillow, especially because I have to work at it to get it to feel okay in my neck. I think that any water pillow, no matter the brand, would have the problem of being very heavy, so I never want to throw this kind of pillow around. There's no flipping it easily either. This pillow can only really be used on one side anyway, because of the poly-fill being only on one side.

So far, so good
I’ve had this pillow for about 3 weeks now. I originally ordered it because I have searching for “that” pillow. You know...the one that doesn’t leave your neck hurting when you wake up. I’ve tried more pillows than I can count, including many of the well-known brand names. This pillow is a bit of a different concept for me, but it’s been working out pretty well. I like that I can adjust the amount of water so it’s just how I like it. The bamboo supports also seem to help me not wake up with neck pain. The only drawbacks are that the bamboo supports make it more difficult (for me) to sleep on my side and they take away from the softness of the pillow. But the lack of neck pain in the morning that they provide is worth the trade off. I did try filling the pillow with air and it didn’t work as well as the water for me. The water in the pillow makes a sloshing sound if moved (obviously) and makes the pillow heavy (also an obvious). But, again, these are minor inconveniences that I’ll gladly take because I’m waking up in the morning without neck pain.

AMAZING!!!!! A miracle pillow if you have sever neck issues!!
I found this pillow by accident while hunting for a pillow that would not suck. Quick background I have a large fusion in my neck from losing my C4 vertebra and because of it, I have what i lovingly call a pillow grave yard. Not kidding I have spent a small fortune to still be uncomfortable. This pillow is wonderful. You can customize it in so many ways, because of the bamboo slats and then the water addition. But not only that it actually has curve to it and the pillow it self has actual support so you are not just hoping the water supports you. I have used it for almost 2 months now and I fall asleep quicker, am more comfortable and it does not cause added stress or pain to my neck. I did try a Mediflow and as soft as it was, it had no support even with the water, it cause more pain and I tossed and turned a lot, so I was happy to compare the difference with these two. Also I did find after the first month it felt like it was getting "squishy" losing it support, I added a tiny bit more water, and boom problem solved. So you can keep adjusting it as time goes on.When I got this pillow, this zipper was broken, and i was worried I would have to ship it back to get a replacement NOPE! I called and a very nice man called me back on Saturday and shipped out a new pillow and told me to keep the broken one for spare parts( my husband has now high jacked it later and loves it too). So right there I had hope that the pillow would be something good if they where willing to stand behind it and have a real customer service, and I was not disappointed. The only CON I have, is for me this might not be an issue for others. I just wish there was some padding around the area inside where you put the bamboo slats. I found it if I slept with one under my neck it would dig in to my shoulders.Honestly I must have done months of research and was torn and confused and almost ready to spend far too much on a pillow yet again, and this jem of a pillow I am so glad just popped up one day in my Amazon feed. Thank you!!!

Finally a good night sleep
I feel very lucky to have found this pillow. I switched from a pillow that was working for me but was old. I need comfort and neck support and this pillow is perfect as it is adjustable. After filling the base air chamber with one puff of air(very easily) the pillow seems to support my neck when I’m on my side or back. Read the instructions for the placement of the bamboo strips. I only used one strip and it works for me. This pillow is designed smartly and is made very well. If your looking for an adjustable pillow, this is the one.

Wish there were separate chambers
I’ve been using a water pillow since my physiotherapist recommended it for my neck pain. I like the separate chambers in this one but I thought I would be able to fill some chambers more than others (I’d like the one under my neck to be fuller than the rest), but that’s not the case. Other than that, I love the pillow.
