Turtle Beach - Elite Pro Tactical Audio Adapter - Xbox One

Far easier to use than the one that comes bundled with the xbox headset that this is replacing. That on seemingly died for chat so I ordered this one two-day because the 10-year old was in a panic. Even though it was pricy, I didn't want to replace it with another xbox audio controller that just failed. This Turtle straight away has easier to use controls, and my son noticed immediately that the in-game chat was far improved with his friends. This one also lets him hear his own voice. The other didn't - maybe it could... but he couldn't figure out the controls to make it happen. The instructions on the Turtle are straightforward and helpful, not always the case with electronics. He's happy - I'm happy.

First one became defective after about two months' use. Amazon replaced it, but the second one became defective after about one month's use. I complained to Turtle Beach directly, who sent me a third, refurbished, replacement unit. Third one became defective again after about a month's use. To be clear, all three units were used in an office environment, not subjected to harsh conditions or abuse. Won't recommend, and won't buy this product again.

I’m rating this a one star until I can get a unit that works. I’ve only recently bought this to pair with an Elite Pro headset and had problems right away. As soon as I joined a party, my overlay on Xbox came up like I was producing constant static and I couldn’t hear a thing. So I switch the basic cord to the cord that came with the adapter. Same thing. I am constantly unplugging and plugging the adapter back into my controller to get it to work. Now, it’s not picking up any sound no matter what I do and I bought it a week ago.However when it does work, it’s great. The quality is far superior to the one Microsoft manufactures that I used for years. I really want to enjoy this, but can’t without it working.

Never worked right out of the box. I could not get any audio to come through the head set and chat didn't work either. I removed the adapter and plugged my headset directly into the controller and they worked fine. This is really disappointing because I just upgraded to the elite headset and now I can't take advantage of their full potential. I am sending this unit back. After reading many other reviews this appears to be a very common issue. It's obviously a quality control issue and this may be the last turtle Beach product I ever buy.

This product had way better sound quality than the first gen audio adapter. My friends noticed a huge difference in the clean audio. The notice cancellation feature works a lot better as well. I like having the preset sounds adjustments when I switch between listening to music and playing games. The super sonic hearing thing or whatever it’s called does make a difference in how you hear footsteps and whatnot. The feature is always on for Fortnite but not needed for Forza. It looks pretty nice on the Volcano Shawdow Xbox One Controller. The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because sometimes it just don’t work when I first turn on my controller and I have to turn off my controller and turn it on again. Lol. Not a big problem but they have a link on what to do in certain situations if you can’t hear your friends, if they can’t hear you, etc. overall, I definitely would’ve paid full price for this product but I got a super used one for half price and it still works like a charm. Highly recommend.

The instructions aren't really specific on what each button does, I mean they're very self-explanatory with the exception of the EQ settings.The one I got color-wise doesn't resemble the photo as its a graphite color and orange so it really doesn't match the black controllers much at all.Over the last couple of days I think I've noticed that when holding the controller if your fingers happened to push on the adapter a little bit it cuts the sound a good bit, I don't know if this is mine or just an issue with design.But in the end it does what it's supposed to do. I just wish I would have received it black and red instead of graphite and orange...

So I used this adapter for around a year and a half and I got it out of the box and plugged in to my elite pro headset and as soon as I went to say anything on it it started this ear wrenching static that made my throw my brand new $200 headset off my ears onto the floor. So I thought, well just defective got a new one did same thing for about three days then all the sudden it started working, the quality that it produces is amazing and the mic monitor is as well. It continued to do this from time to time but all I had to was unplug and plug it back it in. Now, after my first elite pro snapped from wear I suppose, I bought the new elite pro 2 and just tried to use it and it’s doing the exact same thing again but I can’t fix and I’ve tried everything. It really hurts me to write this review because the quality of all the turtle beaches I’ve had have been excellent but I can’t even use it to its full potential because of the stupid adapter.

Had to return it because it did not produce any audio although the mute and super human hearing buttons worked(they light up). Bought a second one, hopefully this one works.PS. Very difficult to remove from controller and does not sit correctly on controller. Might be why it's not working properly for myself and others.To, Turtle Beach if you read these:If your selling a $200 headset and expect consumers to spend EXTRA on add-ons that require the headset to work at optimal performance such as the adapter($50) or tac($150) and a noise cancelling mic($20) please make sure they work. If not, bundle it all together and raise it to $300 for the bundle. I feel cheated and slightly lied to. I've been a customer of Turtle Beach for 11 years and I've never felt this way before about your product. But, I guess there's a first for everything. SMH

As expected and described. For anyone buying this for the elite pro headset, it’s worth buying if you are currently plugging into XO mixer (which does work for elite pro headset) or plug jack into controller, this neutralises the bass. It has three presets which has one for bass and treble, I found this one the most helpful. Super human hearing is great also but then you can still you that on the XO mixer. Well worth the extra bit of money, I had trouble finding any information on this product and if it it does actually work so hopefully this will shed some light for someone! Great seller!

Good piece of kit. You can change the levels of the game sounds coming through your headset independently from the mic’s of your team which is nice.There is a ‘Superhuman hearing’ button which acts as an audio compressor which in some cases I can imagine it being good, though for me it distorts some audio.In hindsight it was a little pricey as for the same price I could have bought a new controller with an audio port.

This item should be included with the headset. It costs £50 and has broken within 6 months. It is a money crab don't fall for it. There is probably products that do the same thing for a fraction of the price.
