it seems great to use, but the contact points for the charger do not sit well on trimmer. making it useless really

Give it the sack.
No. Not good. This thing is bulky, doesn't how charge for more than like 20 minutes. Without the guards the blades nick skin constantly. With the guards you have to go over the same area like 4 times for it to actually trim. And if you're thinking of using them for what the description suggests... don't. The shape of the head means you'll do one side fine and well. The other side you'll be pulling some Grade A yoga poses to get the blade going the right way. Good parts: Didn't get electrocuted. Blade still seems sharp after use. Easy to clean. Comes in nice packaging.
