How many can you stack on top of each other?

You can stack as many as you want. I bought 4 and have them all in one stack and I'm certain it can take more if necessary.

what is the inside dimension since some folders are longer? Not sure if the 1quoted dimensions are outside or inside.

Inside dimensions are 9.5” 12” and a full 2.5” deep. I like to buy notebooks with the wire on top instead of on the side and they fit in there as well as my calendars with the wire binding on the side. They are also very sturdy.
