Aluminum Blunt Force Kubaton Keyring - Black

I was very pleased with this Kubaton. I remember some of the older styles with an eye screw that was supposed to hold the key ring on. I have had many types of Kubatons and this is good. That old style would be useless in a fight. This style is much better. the key ring with a full set of assorted keys on this ring is going to mess up someones plans for the weekend if you should ever have to use this for self defense. IF you are going to use this for self defense get some training first. Properly used, this could give you a second chance. GET PROPER TRAINING to be effective. Just because you have a Kubaton does not make you Chuck Norris or Bruce Lee. As a key ring it is really nice too. For some forms of accupressure this is also a good tool for that. No more fumbling for keys. Another thing this Kubaton could be used for as a key ring is busting a car window out in an emergency if you really had to. Great price, great Kubaton and you will need to buy your own because you can't have mine.

Overall, I am satisfied, but what I received was a grey one, even though the shipping form that came with the item said "black." For what I paid, I cannot complain too much. Works otehrwise and appears free from defect.

This makes a very nice addition to my key chain when taking a walk at night. It has good weight and just feels strong in my hands. I feel more confident with this in my pocket knowing that if I needed to use it I have it with me. Gives me just that extra feeling of security during my evening walks with my wife. Not like carrying a knife or anything like that. Most people do not even know what it is so the surprise factor is on my side if I needed to use it. I certainly wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of this tool. Jamb this up in someone's face and you would certainly get their attention and they would leave you alone in a hurry. Nice option for my wife to carry as well on her walks. Power perceived is power indeed.Tom

Just arrived today. It has a thin, cheap coat of black pint that scratches very easily. Mine came scratched right out othe box! I am going to spray it with a few layers of clear coat and cross my fingers the black finish will last a bit longer.

My kubotan came in today. It was aluminum which i wanted. Although it wasn't the one pictured, it was the black one with a pointed end as shown in the customer images. This is a little thing to me. I wanted an aluminum one with a flat end but they are very hard to find anymore. The kubotan is an aluminum rod that has a grip of 5 knurled rings on the shaft, and this one is painted black. A better grip is still desired because sweaty hands will make it slip when striking or using it for locks and manipulations. I still give it 4 stars because kubotans are so basic and simple that the only real options is either pointed or flat end and unfortunately they don't come with a textured grip (which would be the only improvement i could see). The length of this is 5 and 1/2 inches. I have very large hands and can still use this. However I'd still prefer a 6 to 6 and 1/4" length.I had a kubotan (century Brand "hestitan", silver colored with a point similar to this one) as a kid and had to use it once when i was attacked from behind and choked. I was just 11 years old or so, and had a man in his late 30's or early 40's come up from behind and grab my throat. One shot with this at half my strength to his hand which was on my throat made him let go and run away. So the objection i always see online that "these are not effective self defense tools" makes me laugh because I've had to use it for it's intended purpose as one and it saved me.I bought this because I'm not a violent person but times are getting violent. This tool is not threatening and with minimal training is very effective. I'm planning on teaching a self defense course for women so I've been buying a few of these from various sellers here on Amazon and on eBay. If you search around on eBay search for "blue kubaton" or "green kubaton" etc etc.I'm not a fan of the more common kubotans that have the actual grooves to fit your hand perfectly because those groves make it a striking weapon and make it harder in many instances to perform a lock or other techniques.When this came in the mail at my apartment building a couple of my neighbors and the cleaning lady was downstairs. I opened it immediately and the cleaning lady asked what it was. I explained what it was and she didn't understand how it could be used. I invited her to grab me, which she did. she grabbed my free hand's wrist that didn't have the kubotan. I grabbed the hand she grabbed me with, applied a grip around her wrist called a "gasket grip" with the kubotan on the outside of her wrist just below the bone. I applied just a few pounds of pressure and all her confusion and doubts were removed. The pain continued after i released her so i used a revival technique which stopped it instantly. Now she wants to order a bunch of these to sell, and wants to join my self defense course.I thank the seller for sending it so quick all the way from China, it took about 2.5 weeks to arrive.I'll also be making video reviews of the kubotans I've ordered once they all arrive. (3 out of 7 are here and i may order more to give away, or resell at the price i pay for them to the girls in my class) and i will be making a video or series of videos for YouTube on how to use them because there's almost no good videos on YouTube on how to use kubotans effectively.I was going to order a bunch more of this exact one because they were just under 5 dollars even after shipping but now the seller has raised the price to 5.34 plus. 29 cents shipping. So I'll be looking for another seller to buy from because i really don't want to spend more than 5 dollars on a basic black kubotan. The funny thing is i showed my ex gf the price last night and it was under 5, now i checked it out again to write the review and it went up. Still, anything under 7 dollars is a good price for a kubotan.The best part about the kubotan is it makes it hard to lose your keys. :D

Seems solid but i never use because of LEAD paint content that is very toxic and is known to cause cancer. If i knew i would not buy. I threw it in the recycle bin.

I put this on my main key ring on a quick detach in case I need it in my hand. It seems super well constructed and must be powder coated because it contacts my keys all the time with no scratches, chips or dings. I can put it in my waistband so I don't have to hold my keys if I have no pockets. All around great key chain and defense tool.

Especially for the price.... Don't let the fact that its made out of aluminum fool you. A smack anywhere on the body with this will defiantly hurt a great deal. I have not tried one yet, but I also like the idea of the tactical slapper but it is more expensive and not sure tht it is a keychain.What I like about this one, other than the awesome price is in can bi slipped into your pocket with your keys hanging out for easy access and makes sure your keys don't fall out of your pocket. This one just cant be beat for the cost and effectiveness. It got here very fast as well.
