Value version of e906, works just fine
Cheaper version of e906. Still sounds great on guitar cabs if you want something more affordable than e906. Like how you can hang them over cabs and don’t need a mic stand (pro tip - leave the mic clips on to prevent rotation.)

Speaks for itself
Buy when the price is right. Classic amp mic that any sound engineer will recommend. Even simpler/easier than sm57 since it can be hung over the amp with no stand. Every guitarist should just buy one and throw it in their gig bag.

My Go-To Guitar Amp Mic
There isn't much to say that hasn't already been said. I have hung one of these over my guitar cabinet for years (decades?) with excellent results. I try to place it just past the edge of the dust cap, but it is not picky about placement like the venerable SM57. It just works. Live or in the studio, this is an excellent choice for micing electric guitars.

Amazon price is A1
Can’t believe I snagged this for this price. These mics are great for cabs, drums, etc. I have used these mics in the past so I have no complaints at all. This review is mainly for the price they are going for on Amazon

best guitar mic available
One of the best guitar mics available. No need for a stand!

Great mic in the mix
I used an SM 57 for years, but picked one of these up on the recommendation of a friend that runs sound. In a live setting, I was not expecting much but my stage mix is much clearer and I always get compliments from folks on my tone in the house mix. You can’t get a better recommendation than that!

Great mic
Great mic to use on amp cabs. Surprised the Sennheiser box it came in was not wrapped up, but was an open box that even the flap wasn't taped down.

If you mic guitar amps, you need this.
This thing is just a DREAM for micing guitar amps, especially "problematic" cabs. My main amp (Peavey Delta Blues) uses a 15" speaker. Trying to mic it with an SM-57 or similar is always a compromise of what kind of coloration I'm willing to accept. Hours of recording time and fiddling with placement did eventually allow me to discover a sweet spot. But even then, trying to place such a tiny capsule on a speaker larger than 10" never gets me close to the natural sound of the amp. Something is always hyped or missing. It's always a hunt for the least bad placement. If you're reading this, you're probably familiar with what I'm describing. The e609 is the opposite of that situation. You can just about throw it in the general direction of an amp and get a decent sound. Slap it right up against the grill, halfway between the edge of the dust cap and edge of the speaker cone and you're set. Use a stand or hang it over the cab. The thing is just remarkably un-picky. It's very easy to use to get a relatively transparent representation of what the amp actually sounds like with minimal fuss. A couple things to note: It's light. I dig it, especially since it spends a lot of time dangling from a mic cable. More weight would probably be bad. It is a little on the bright side, but nothing unreasonable or difficult to manage. The housing around the grill is plastic. Seems sturdy enough, but maybe don't use it as a hammer. The included mic clip is SUPER TIGHT. I suspect this is among the reasons you always find 609s hanging from a cable, even if an extra stand is available.

This Mic Hears the Truth—Even If You're Not Ready For It
Let me start by saying: if this mic were a person, it’d be that brutally honest friend who tells you your tone is trash but also helps you dial in the sweet spot until angels weep. The Sennheiser E609 is plug-and-play in the most rock 'n' roll sense. No stand? No problem. I just draped it over my amp like it was casually lounging after a gig—and it captured my guitar tone so clearly I almost cried. Not out of emotion. Out of shame for every other mic I’ve used before. It’s tight, focused, and doesn’t pick up your drummer’s bad decisions from across the room. Whether you're playing silky cleans or unleashing a fuzz tsunami, this thing makes your amp sound like it should’ve been famous in the '70s. True story: I used this to track guitars for a Butane Prophet session and didn’t even have to EQ much after. Just slapped it in front of the cab and let it do its thing. The tone? Chef’s kiss with a devil horn salute. If you're still using that plastic USB mic from your high school podcast phase—do yourself and your amp a favor. Grab this. Mic drop. (Gently. It’s a nice mic.)
