A lot of YouTubers recommended this so I thought I'd give it a try. When it arrived, I was quite surprised how small the packages were, but it matched the description so that's on me. That said, a little goes a long way. I've used this in both a system with aeration and without (Kratky method) and it worked perfectly in both cases. Here's what I've grown with it: - Basil indoors with natural light - Basil indoors with artificial light - 2 kinds of Lettuce indoors with artificial lights - Spinach indoors with artificial lights - 2 types of tomatoes outdoors with natural light. The Plant growth with this fertilizer and the hydroponic method was far superior to similar plants planted in dirt. The plants that had aeration did better the ones in using the Kratky method. I don't think I'll try tomatoes again simply because they take so much solution throughout the year vs. the ones I planted in self watering soil containers. Overall, 5 stars. Works as well as the YouTubers claimed it would and lasts a long time.

Always pleased with Masterblend products. While this can be a little tricky to mix- you MUST go by the instructions- exact weights and order of Mixing- but when you get the hang of it, it’s easy! My hydroponic vegetables love the stuff!

I did a great deal of research on hydroponics and hydroponic nutrients. MasterBlend was at the top of every list and review I read. In the many videos and blog posts that I gleaned from, both Epsom Salts and Calcium Nitrate were suggested as additional nutrients to add. So it made sense to buy the MASTERBLEND 4-18-38 Complete Combo Kit Fertilizer Bulk. Once I received this product, I immediately mixed up a 5-gallon bucket for my system. The instructions on the package are self-explanatory. The results were awesome! All my transplants began growing roots and beautiful green leaves. However, after one month exactly, I do not see any fruit. I attribute that to my mixture of nutrients not being exact. In the instructions, it says you can use a teaspoon (2-tsp Masterblend, 1-teaspoon Epsom Salt, & 2-tsp Calcium Nitrate). However, I found that the plants do better if you weigh the nutrients precisely (12-grams Masterblend, 6-grams Epsom Salt, & 12-grams Calcium Nitrate). In my first couple of batches, I measured everything precisely by weight. However, I found later that by measuring with a teaspoon, the amounts became ambiguous. Also, in my tests to try and trigger fruiting, I got my nutrients out of balance and had to flush my system. I DO NOT think this was a problem with the nutrients themselves. However, I don't know what I can do to start getting tomatoes or peppers. Perhaps I'm just impatient. I do know that with hydroponics, there is a lot to account for such as nutrients, oxygen, sunlight, heat, cold, insects, and more. If you are looking for nutrients for your hydroponics systems, whether Wick Systems, Deep Water Culture (DWC), Nutrient Film Technique (NFT), Ebb and Flow (Flood and Drain), Aeroponics, or Drip Systems, these nutrients are the best!

I have always wanted to try hydroponics. I'm glad I got the smallest size because to do a 5gallon buckent takes only 1tsp of one and 2 of the other two. I have tomato plants in Kratky style buckets that are growing big. They have not set fruit yet but the blooms look promising. The instructions are on the bags and a little goes a long way. My two bucket tower has 5 tomato plants doing very well. Note, tomatoes are very thirsty in the summer so I have to top off with plain water every 2-3 days. After opening the packaging I put them in individual zip-lock bags to keep them dry and active.

I was a little hesitant about getting into hydroponics because managing the nutrients seemed so complicated. But I decided to take a chance with this kit of ingredients and I am so glad I did! The instructions are explicit and clear and my Kratky jar lettuces and herbs are growing better than they ever did in soil. I make up a gallon at a time, which is an easy amount to manage for anyone doing small scale hydroponics. Good investment.

I wanted to give Aerogarden users hope in this fertilizer now that the Aerogarden fertilizer is no longer available. I am posting before and after photos from the day that I started using this three part Master lend. The photos taken today are one month and four days later, using only a pure solution of Materblend. I top off my eight 12 pod gardens and one 9 pod garden by using 2 1/2 gallons a day of Masterblend to top off all nine gardens. I weigh 6 grams of the Masterblend, 3 grams of the Epsom Salt, and 6 grams of the Calcium Nitrate into 2 1/2 gallons of water,in this exact order, per instructions, and stirring each one in until dissolved before adding the second and third component. Then, pour it straight into your garden. I fill the entire garden tray with this Masterblend solution instead of using two syringes of fertilizer like you do with the Aerogarden brand fertilizer. My plants in these photos were planted on July 30th 2025. These are indeterminate orange tomatoes. The before photos were taken January 17, 2926 using Aerogarden fertilizer. They had lots of blooms, but very little foliage, and the foliage was yellow and turning brown. The after photos are a month and four days later, taken today, and I am having to trim 50% of the foliage off of the plant every two weeks because they have grown so much with the Master blend. They are green and healthy. I linked to this review from my previous purchases link, so this seller and produce are the exact ones that I am using. You can clearly see that I have had AMAZING results using this Masterblend 4-18-38 fertilizer used full strength in my Aerogardens.
