Product Description Told in alternating timelines, THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED examines the risks we take for love, the scars too deep to heal, and the endings we can’t bring ourselves to see coming.Twenty-eight-year-old Georgia Stanton has to start over after she gave up almost everything in a brutal divorce―the New York house, the friends, and her pride. Now back home at her late great-grandmother’s estate in Colorado, she finds herself face-to-face with Noah Harrison, the bestselling author of a million books where the cover is always people nearly kissing. He’s just as arrogant in person as in interviews, and she’ll be damned if the good-looking writer of love stories thinks he’s the one to finish her grandmother’s final novel…even if the publisher swears he’s the perfect fit.Noah is at the pinnacle of his career. With book and movie deals galore, there isn’t much the “golden boy” of modern fiction hasn’t accomplished. But he can’t walk away from what might be the best book of the century―the one his idol, Scarlett Stanton, left unfinished. Coming up with a fitting ending for the legendary author is one thing, but dealing with her beautiful, stubborn, cynical great-granddaughter, Georgia, is quite another. But as they read Scarlett’s words in both the manuscript and her box of letters, they start to realize why Scarlett never finished the book―it’s based on her real-life romance with a World War II pilot, and the ending isn’t a happy one. Georgia knows all too well that love never works out, and while the chemistry and connection between her and Noah is undeniable, she’s as determined as ever to learn from her great-grandmother’s mistakes―even if it means destroying Noah’s career. An emotional but beautiful book!
Have you ever read a book so beautiful and powerful that you’ve been reluctant to put your feelings about it into words, only to find that, over time, you’ve forgotten many of the emotions you wanted to express? That’s exactly what happened to me with this book. I picked it up without knowing it would become one of my favorite reads from last year. The letters in this story were both heartwarming and heartbreaking, and the chemistry and emotional tension in both love stories were intense. Though I anticipated certain parts of the ending, I couldn’t help but wish for things to turn out well for everyone. This book made me feel as if I were mourning the loss of a real person—it made me cry, laugh, shatter my heart, and ultimately heal it. Each love story was written with such beauty, and I’m so grateful that some characters found the happy ending they deserved. The way the struggles, pain and separation caused by wars were conveyed made me feel everything the characters were experiencing. Even now, my heart still aches when I think of how it ended for some, and my mind is still tangled in the emotions, but if I could give this book a million stars, I would.

An Honest Review!
As she delves into Scarlett’s world, she connects unexpectedly with the renowned author Noah Harrison. In the past, Scarlett’s love story with the dashing World War II pilot Jameson unfolded through a series of heartfelt letters. Their passionate romance, filled with sacrifice and longing, mirrors the complexities of love in the modern era. Yarros’ exquisite writing style brings these characters to life, making them feel like old friends. The emotional depth and raw vulnerability of the characters will resonate with readers, leaving a lasting impact. The novel’s exploration of grief, healing, and the power of second chances is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. If you’re looking for a book that will make you laugh, cry, and swoon, The Things We Leave Unfinished is the perfect choice.

My honest take!
“This is not our end. My heart will always remain with you no matter where we are. Time and distance are only inconveniences to a love like ours. Whether it’s days, months, or even years, I will be waiting. WE will be waiting.” This is my first Rebecca Yarros novel, and it certainly won’t be my last. The Things We Leave Unfinished is a definite must read. It's part historical romance, part contemporary romance, and 100% hard to put down and immersive. I loved Scarlett and Jameson’s epic love story, set amidst the chaos of war. They had a once in a lifetime love that defied so many obstacles. War, distance, and family expectations continually threatened their happily-ever-after but they proved their love was undying and real. The sister bond between Scarlett and Constance stood out for me, it was beautiful, undeniably real and self sacrificing that left me a sobbing mess at the end. The writing was beautiful, easy to read and relatable. Some of the letters were so heartbreaking it felt like I was being split open. While I loved Scarlett and Jameson, I had trouble relating to the contemporary romance in the book - this is where Noah and Georgia fit in. I could imagine Scarlett and Jameson fall in love amidst the chaos, but I think Noah and Georgia weren't given enough time or space to have fallen for each other they way they did. I just couldn't connect with them as a couple like I did with Jameson and Scarlett. Other than that, it was a beautiful book. Bring tissues.

great read
The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros is a sweeping, emotionally rich dual-timeline romance that explores the enduring power of love, the pain of loss, and the stories we carry through generations. Told across two timelines, the novel follows a poignant WWII-era romance between Scarlett and a fighter pilot, interwoven with her great-granddaughter Georgia’s present-day journey as she rebuilds her life after divorce. As Georgia works to finish Scarlett’s unfinished manuscript with the help of bestselling author Noah Harrison, the past and present collide in powerful, unexpected ways. Scarlett’s wartime love story is particularly moving, filled with sacrifice, longing, and resilience. Meanwhile, Georgia’s path to healing mirrors her great-grandmother’s in emotionally resonant ways. The alternating perspectives bring depth and poignancy, though the timeline shifts may feel disorienting to some readers. Yarros delivers a narrative that stirs the full spectrum of emotion—heartbreak, hope, nostalgia, and joy. The historical storyline stands out for its depth and impact, while the contemporary thread adds a layer of introspection and second chances. For readers who love deeply emotional, time-spanning romances that explore legacy, heartbreak, and healing, The Things We Leave Unfinished is a beautifully written and unforgettable experience. Be warned: this one doesn’t pull its emotional punches.
