Q: Is this clear or brown?

Watkins Coffee Extract is clear in color, and may have a very light brown color; however, it is not brown.

Q: Watkins, can you please advise if this contains caffeine? And if so how much?

I'm not sure. The ingredients state "water, alcohol, coffee" but don't say whether the coffee is caffeinated or decaffeinated. The box also lists the product as "kosher". There's an e-mail address that says "for recipes and more, go to 'Watkins1868.com'".

Q: is this made with same traditional method unchanged?

Watkins Pure Extracts are made via natural processes to extract the flavorful oils and extractives from the highest quality source ingredients, whether that is Vanilla Beans, Lemons, Peppermint Leaves or Coffee Beans. We use several different processes for manufacture including percolation, distillation, and expression. The percentage of extractive or pure oil is perfected in the final formula to ensure the best flavor.

Q: anybody tried this as instant coffee?effect?

Normally the extracts are utilized as flavorings. Pure extracts, like this one, a little goes along way. Made from natural oils - 100% Pure, no artificial flavors, non-GMO, Gluten Free, Corn Syrup Free, Kosher, and crafted in the USA. I know people have used this product in different coffees. Great for cupcakes, ice cream, smoothies, and flavoring protein drinks to name a few.
