Like you did with real cigarettes, give these a chance
I have smoked cigarettes for roughly 18 years. At certain periods of time, cigarette intake was much higher than others, however the past few years I smoke on average less than 7 per day. Some days I have none. High stress days = having many. In the past I had tried other alternatives when it came to quitting - gum, e-cig, vape, breathing excersizes, cold turkey, etc. None of it held a candle to the wonderful feeling, almighty cigarette. My main preference for a very long time was Marlboro Reds, until the Marlboro Blacks were released. Everyone has their favorite but more often than not I treated myself to a pack of cigarettes that I was unfamiliar with. Some were good while others weren't. Even those that made you retch after having one eventually felt more tolerable by the end of the pack. It was like being an amateur cigarette connoisseur. I loved filling my palette and my lungs with all the different varieties. I love smoking. It's awesome to do. So calm and peaceful and relaxing...so good for the soul. There are so many people in my life that I wouldn't have met or things that I wouldn't have experienced if I had not been somewhere smoking a cigarette. So many times where life gets completely out of control and the weight of the world is on your shoulders, you just need that small bit of reliable relief to get you through that moment. It's awful when that moment strikes and you don't have any. You'll take anything anyone offers, even if it's not something you normally like, and you'll savor every drag. It sucks knowing that the security cigarettes provides are poison that will kill you in some terrible, painful way. Why haven't other quitting cessation methods worked for myself and the people I know? The general consensus is, "it's just not the same." The physical, habitual act of smoking is what's missing. Vaping involves mainly largish, hand held, metal smoking devices, while e-cigs just feel too heavy and clumbsy to be held normally in your mouth and your hand. Nothing beats the weightless comfortability of the soft paper against your skin, with the whirling, artitistic strokes of smoke billowing up from the cherry while simultaneously exhaling the rest out. Smoke Free has given me the ability to "have my cake and eat it too" - I can still smoke a cigarette without it actually being a cigarette. When you first open the pack, you will get a whiff of a natural, dark chocolate aroma. When lit, they give off a wood burning type of smell. I have asked a few non-smokers their thoughts on the scent and none of them found the odor anywhere near as offensive as real cigarettes. They go down smooth and burn pretty normal. To me, smoking one gave me the sensation of a cheap, ultra-light cigarette, kind of like an Exact, with an ever so slightly harsh burning quality. After having a few of them, my throat felt a little scratchy, but the feeling eventually ceased by the end of the pack. The packaging has piqued the interest of quite a few regular smokers who had never heard of such a thing, and wanted to try them. Each person took a drag filled with skepticism, and exhaled with a response of, "wow those really aren't bad at all!" They were all excited by the price too, since I live in a state where cigarettes are about $10 per pack. Despite my glowing review, I can understand why some people may not have liked these at first. Switching over to a brand or type of cigarette you don't like is hard when you have a wide assortment to access at any gas station. I won't lie, after the first couple days of Smoke Free I felt unfulfilled and missed the taste of my Marlboros. What helped me was smoking both. At first I alternated between which one to smoke, then having 2 Smoke Frees and 1 Marb, eventually to 1 Marlboro per day, to the point where I tapered myself off of real cigarettes while developing a familiar taste and bond with Smoke Free. It's been a couple weeks now with Smoke Free and I'm doing just fine. I was given a real cigarette last week and although I was still mentally accustomed to the brand and taste, I physically did not feel great after having it. I don't know anybody who picked up their first cigarette and didn't think it was disgusting and gross. Some of you, like me, may have even dry heaved or vomited their first time. For whatever reason though, we all kept doing it and got used to it. Your first reaction to Smoke Free may not be the most enjoyable, but it should certainly not make you feel revolted or sick. These have been a god-send in my life. It's nice to feel free from cigarettes and experience all the positive changes your body makes when you quit, all while still being able to smoke what still feels like the real thing.

Review From A TRUE On-Again/Off-Again Tobacco Smoker
As a long time in and out smoker I can say, with honesty, that these don't really taste any worse that a normal tobacco cigarette once you have been off cigarette's for any great length of time. In fact, they are super mild and the taste doesn't taste like much of anything...when you have been off of actual tobacco cigarettes, anyway. I decided, after the first pack I bought here to get my usual Camel's and smoke them for a whole month just to see how my taste buds would like that. After smoking a pack of the SF tobacco-less cigarettes then going back to my Camel's I have to say, it was the Camel's that became outright disgusting. Funny thing is, I would not have thought otherwise until attempting to try something other than the cigarettes I had smoked for years...decades even. I think it's funny how our taste buds trick us into believing that something other than what we had been smoking is utterly disgusting by comparison until you actually dedicate yourself to something different. I can see that if someone who had been smoking cigars for years might be turned off by these because the taste is far different, even by comparison to regular cigarette tobacco, but I was literally shocked at how disgusting my good ol' tried and true Camel's tasted after being off of them for just thirty days and on the SF tobacco-less cigarettes exclusively during that time. It was not easy and my wife would say I was a real jerk during the first few weeks I was off of the Camel's but now, I have bought another pack of these and even though I don't care much for the taste, which is not as disgusting as some people "Claim" they are and I am pretty sure those people have other agenda's posting here anyway. They don't burn quite as cleanly as a normal tobacco cigarette either but SF burns FAR cleaner & evenly than hand rolled cigarettes. My only other gripes are that they burn kind of fast and they are kind of pricey for what they are. As a true on-again off-again smoker of tobacco products I can say WITHOUT BIAS that these are probably the best thing you can get that comes even close to a tobacco cigarette without the hundreds of added carcinogens (The whole reason why I am trying to quit in the first place, already had a family member die from lung disease who was a long time tobacco smoker. They only smoked half a pack a day too and was just 11 years older than me). Bottom line is very simple, if you are trying to quit but things like nasty gum or patches don't work for you as they did not for me then these are the best supplements to a real cigarette on the market. Since smoking these I have already gone from smoking an average of 4-6 of my old cigarettes a day to 2-3 of these a day. The craving for tobacco is no longer there but that has never really been my true "Addiction" to cigarettes anyway. My addiction is simply a "hand to mouth" addiction, more smokers have this addiction than nicotine itself but don't realize it and that has been a habit harder to break than simply quitting nicotine. Haters can say all they want about these. If you think about it fellow tobacco smokers, your first taste of tobacco was probably pretty darn disgusting too...every smoker has experienced this in that "First drag". It takes time to adjust. Plain and simple. It's sad to see most people here would rather dump all over it as if it was the first time they took a drag from a cigarette all over again rather than give it the chance to re-wire your taste buds into liking something different...as you did eventually with good ol' tobacco cigarettes now, didn't ya? OK then.

The cocoa alternative to tobacco is perfect for smoking. I was a 33 year veteran of smoking and had no interest in quitting, but needed to for health reasons. I found these and took a chance, glad I did. I went from smoking 1.5 packs a day to smoking 1 pack of these in 3 or 4 days and the effect was almost instantaneous.

Absolutely amazing smell, though when you're smoking it does smell like a regular cigarette and has same amount of smoke as well. My main concern here is though, does this also include hidden dozens and hundreds of chemicals like regular cigarettes? In that case this wouldn't really make this any better alternate.
