NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Blotting Powder, Light/Medium

This powder by Nyx is by far, one of my favorite powders I've ever used. I'm quite picky when it comes to them because I need them to be matte while not making me look cakey. Sooo many powders out there make me look cakey through-out the day when I have to reapply on my combination skin. I haven't had any problems with this, but do feel it works a lot better with touch ups through-out the day if you use a brush instead of the puff it comes with. The powder puff is good to use when setting the makeup in the morning. This color matches my skin color very well, thankfully and I'm even able to use this when I'm pale during the Winter months and also when I'm tanner in the Summer months. I wanted to stock up so when I saw this on here selling for $6... I could not pass that up! Absolutely love this and the price I paid for this on here!

This powder is good for setting liquid foundation and removing shine. I brush off excess with a loose powder brush after applying it with the included pad to blend it out. The pad applies it thick. If you are anticipating being photographed or filmed, this is a good (and affordable) blotter to keep you looking matte. NYX did not disappoint with this one! I'm using the light/medium and tend to wear porcelain foundations. Photo shows one (messy) swipe of the powder on my bare hand.

This powder is a lot lighter than expected for "light/medium" complexions. When they say "blotting powder," they mean blotting powder. This is *not* a setting powder, and I see some other people that have been reviewing this product have been using it as such. This is meant for touch-ups throughout the day. I have combination skin and only use it on my t-zone and it works just fine. If you overdo it, it can be drying, too powdery, and/or be way too light. So far, this is the best blotting powder or powder in a compact for touch-ups that I have found, and I recommend it for that. You have to apply it sparingly though. I would definitely buy this product again.

The product is of very good quality, however the powder arrived a bit damaged, it was almost a surprise to my girlfriend until she opened it in front of me. I imagine this happened because it was handled without any care or respect for other people's items. All in all the delivery time was correct. 👍

For most everyday situations, I don't need to reapply this. However, for a night out during a sweltering summer evening, you may need to reapply this. I have a very active T-Zone that starts to show after about 2 hours, and is downright gross after about 3. I can use this in the morning and my makeup is fine on most days. On sweaty gross days, I may need to reapply once. Sweaty party nights, I need 2-3 reapplications, and it does not make me look cake-y. For me, this is excellent.

I love it. Really smooths out complexion and sets foundation. Doesn't gather in wrinkles, doesn't dry or cling to already dry patches and doesn't cause breakouts, doesn't smell. Quality compact too with a good large mirror. I use it to set my makeup in the morning and then for touching up once, twice later in the day, lasts well. Reduces shine without looking too "make-up-y"

I have a serious problem with oily skin - nothing has ever worked to control the shine I see very, very often throughout the day. I have literally tried everything including some very, very expensive products - none has worked as well as this product. I am really thrilled and have ordered more for me and one for my sister. It is not perfect but this product actually works and for the first time I feel like I can get through several hours without having to worry about what I look like.

Love this product!! I have extremely oily skin and have tried multiple products. I recently went on a business trip to a very hot and humid area and this powder kept my face looking great all day! No shine or oiliness came through despite the temps!

This is the best touch-up powder I’ve ever tried! It eliminates the oily sheen on my face and leaves my skin looking matte for about 4 hours which is pretty amazing for my oily skin! I also use this blotting powder as a finishing powder - after applying makeup (foundation/BB cream, concealer), I use a soft fluffy brush to dust it on my face lightly. After a couple of hours, when my T-zone gets shiny, I use the little puff that comes with it to press/pat this powder into any oily areas. I only have to touch-up with this powder once or twice a day and it doesn’t end up looking cakey plus it doesn’t emphasize my fine lines. The only downside to this product is that it’s hard to find in stores. I will definitely be repurchasing!

I have an extremely oily T-Zone and this is the best one (amongst the drugstore brands) in absorbing the oil & controlling the shine. It’s great to take it along for touch-ups to during the day, as it doesnt add colour or make my face look cakey. However, its got a little tint which is good for Asian skin tones as completely translucent (white) can make the face look pasty sometimes. Light/Medium is a little pink for my medium skin tone with yellow undertones and I think the dark shade will suit me better (as its supposed to have a warm undertone). However, its priced almost double of this, so will have to wait for price to reduce.
