Definitely worth the peace of mind
I do not have a peephole on my front door so this has given me so much comfort knowing I can now see who is on the other side of the door, especially at night. After having this a few months, I do plan on adding more of the Ring products to my backyard and side garage door.My favorites: I love that the door angle allows me to see into my yard and street some and not just what is right up close to my door. I also love that you are able to manage multiple devices from the same app AND different locations!Helpful hint: I have do not disturb/focus options turned on on my phone so I was worried about not getting any Ring notifications while sleeping. You are able to allow some apps to send notifications while that is turned on so by customizing that feature on your phone, you can really enjoy this without having to leave all phone sounds on overnight.Least favorites: Sometimes I get a notification that someone rang the doorbell and they leave very quickly, so I'm trying to load it while it's actually already turning off. That seems to create a bit of a delay in the ability to load the picture. If you knew it was that situation, it would almost be easier to just open the live view vs open the person notification. There was also a couple days that I could not open the live view for some reason. I was a bit annoyed I was going to need to contact support for help, but then it self-resolved! So I can't say my experience with support but I am glad it wasn't needed.Monthly payment: The monthly payment is very small, to be able to relax knowing you can playback anything you need to or capture anything if needed!Install: The install was very easy and I did it myself. I'm relatively handy but not a "handyman" level at all! I was able to install it, drill a few concrete holes and use the wires from my existing doorbell. It took less than 30 minutes to install and that was me taking my time to make sure I really understand the full process. It would have been nice if there were extra screws/anchors to fit different needs but what it came with mostly sufficed. The only issue came into play when I was trying to reuse holes from my existing doorbell - I needed to get a bit creative with other anchors as these screws were much smaller.App: The app is very easy to use and has your view immediately upon opening it. Very easy to quickly see what's taking place or access the menu to adjust settings. Pic is attached (with my location scratched out at the top)Night visibility: You are able to see with or without a porch light on, but the clarity is so much better with the light on of course. Even if it's off, you can get a pretty good look at who is outside and catch it.I was able to watch a possum cross my front yard about 20 feet away from my door and outside of the lighted area! I attached pics of my daughter outside with and without the light on.Sensitivity: I have never missed a person (to my knowledge) coming to my door yet I have not had any false alarms either! You can adjust the sensitivity levels but it's working perfect as is!

Easy Installation and Mounting
My ring is great quality. It was easy to mount and install. The design is sleek with great night and day vision. I can see clear pictures of individual(s) coming to my door/house, the motion detection is amazing at alerting me when someone or something is approaching and passing by. The ability to talk with individual(s) when you’re unavailable is unique. The best part of the Ring is all the cool messages during the holidays and special occasions (e.g. football season, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines, Spring/Summer). Oh and don’t forget, download the app from your app store. It was very easy downloading and install with simple instructions.

super nice to have
I went with ring cameras and door bell and haven't looked back. yes you may for the subscription if you want to save the videos to your phone but you do not have to if you want to look at it live or answer your door from you electronic Devise. I went the hard wire type as to not worry about batters. at first I was annoyed with all the alarms I would get it took a week to get the settings how I like it so that everything that moves does not make an alarm on my phone. the quality is good the sound is good and the night vision is good as well.. I think there are new ones that have little wider angle on them but this one does really good for me. it even knows when a package is left on the door step.I got the chime to go with it but it so I can hear it through the house and my phone as well. I have enjoyed this door bell nice piece of mind to know who is at your door people or animals I also like how ring has a community board you can set up to communicate with neighbors about things they see and gives you a head up about potentially crimes or lost animals

MUCH IMPROVED
THIS WAS MY FIRST REVIEWWe purchased the RING doorbell based on the fact that everyone in the community seemed to have one and after viewing their posts and videos of unwanted events on their property, I thought this was the best option for us. Well, I was WRONG!!!This is the view from my doorbell. It speaks for itself. There is no 180 degree view possibly because the doorbell replaced the old bell which was installed on my doorframe and is recessed next to a brick wall. But besides that, my biggest gripe right now is the nighttime visual. The doorbell can't possibly pick up any motion at my front door unless the person is a foot in front of the door. Even then, it's like viewing an apparition, no facial details are discernible. You couldn't possibly give any description of who was at the door if you had to. Tried changing settings but nothing worked. As far as day time motion detection, it does not always pick up motion and they are randomly delayed as well. And where is the customer support? Someone help us, please. Just so unhappy.UPDATED REVIEWAfter my initial review regarding the abysmal nighttime view from the RING doorbell, I was contacted by RING support to help resolve the issue. As it turns out, the placement of the doorbell mounted on the doorframe next to an adjacent brick wall prevented the infrared from picking up an optimal night vision. The RING support sent me what's called "corner kits" which are plates that can be installed to bring out the doorbell away from the wall so that the infrared can capture a better view. After having two kits installed, I was definitely pleased with the new view. Although I would love to post a new photo, I don't think my neighbors would appreciate it due to privacy issues. The view of their homes and the street is decent but most important is that motion is now detected as soon as anyone approaches our property from the sidewalk and facial features are clear and discernible. In retrospect, it would have been better to have the doorbell mounted on the brick wall instead of over the existing doorbell on the doorframe. With that said, my advice would be to use an experienced security camera installer who is familiar with and can advise you of the best outcome. I can't thank the RING help center enough for all their assistance, very good customer service.
