My favorite flashlight for general use
I see I’ve ordered the Fenix LD22 light 17 times so far and I’ll probably order more. Over the years I’ve bought MANY lights, large and small, and this is my favorite. I use them extensively around the farm, keep one in each vehicle, two in my shop, several in the house: two by the front door, one in the sun room, one in the kitchen, and one next to the bed. I’ve given many away to friends and family. Things I like: The wonderful range of light from very dim to very bright. The switch design The size The battery choice Brightness: The dim setting is just bright enough to see when walking to the shop or out to check on the horses at night, The brightest setting uses the batteries quicker but works like a spot light for checking on the horses and llamas across the fields. With the brighter settings I can easily spot the guineas roosting in tall trees at night and scan the area for predators. Switch design: Fenix does it right. Many light makers design switches poorly. This one has a soft rear button with a momentary on with a light press while a harder click keeps the light on. Sometimes I only need a short burst of light. Many lights have strobe settings which are nice to have but rarely used. What makes be throw a light away is a design that forces me to cycle through the flashing modes to change to the continuous mode I want. Fenix does it right - the rear switch turns the lamp on and off. A second switch on the side near the front cycles through the brightness modes. The flashing modes are available but ONLY if the side button is pressed and held down so the don’t interfere with normal operation. Size The light fits well in the pants or shirt pocket. I especially like the design of the case that lets me hold the light easily between my index and middle finger while using my thumb bo operate the rear switch in the momentary contact mode. Battery choice I love the use of two standard AA batteries. Rechargeable's are nice but if the battery runs down when walking 1/2 mile from the house I’d be stuck. When using it around the farm I carry a couple of spare batteries in my pocket. Note that the LD22 V2.0 comes with a rechargeable batter PLUS two AAs, which can be interchanged. The rechargeable battery has a recharging port on the side. If I’m out and the rechargeable battery dies, I’ll simply swap for the AAs in my pocket. One caution: alkaline batteries are prone to leak if idle for a long time. It’s best to periodically open a light and check the batteries for signs of leakage and replace them if needed. If you see any hint of leakage rinse the inside of the light case with household vinegar and let dry. If the a battery leaks enough, the flashlight (or any equipment) may be damaged or destroyed.

Worth every cent
Bright, lightweight, small enough to carry all day. Haven’t had any issues with battery life lasting throughout the day when working. Overall great flashlight.

Great light. Super bright or not so bright - your choice. Love it.
Unlike some lights the battery comes out and connects directly to a USB C cable for charging. If one wanted it would be possible to have a backup battery for extra life. Love that the light can be crazy bright or a gentle light with steps in between. Light can be run on regular AA batteries in a pinch but can't achieve the highest brightness setting on that type of battery. This is a great light.

Just one thing
I purchased 3 pocket lights before this one. Trying to find one I can keep in my shirt pocket that was small slim and bright enough. This is the one I carry. Other 3 are in my tool box. It fits in my shirt pocket with about 1 inch sticking up. Just a bit heavy for a shirt pocket but not overly bad. The clasp is secure and it’s certainly bright enough to see what I need. I especially like the beam. It’s got a definite bright and we’ll defined circle within the flood. Good for illuminating specific areas. I also like the ease of using it. No clicking the thumb twice for this or rapid clicks for that. Plain and simple and remembers the last setting. I wear it and use it everyday for a week before it needs recharged. Only one concern. The button on the lens cap to select brightness feels a bit different than when I first got it. Just doesn’t feel as “clicky”. Softer, maybe more mushy would be a way to put it. Plus when I’m cycling thru the brightness settings sometimes one click doesn’t do anything. I have to click it again. Hopefully this won’t turn into a major issue down the road but so far overall I’m happy with it. Update: had this light for 6 months and no problems, no complaints. Dropped it a few times. One was from the top of a ladder, down about 8’. Bounced off a steel pipe before it landed in a puddle of water about 6” deep. Submerged… Thought that was the end of that light. Went down got it, took it apart and let it air dry for a while. Put the battery back in and it still works just fine. No problems at all. That was about 3-4 months ago. Still using it today. It’s tough.

Great little flashlight
I like the compact size vs brightness. I also like that you can get single rechargeable batteries (one battery the size of 2 AA batteries) for the flashlight. What don’t I like? I wish there was a pocket on the battery holder to store a spare rechargeable battery. Also, for the flashlight holder, I wish the belt loop was velcroed so you can easily put it on a belt and/or remove it without having to take your belt off. Would I buy this flashlight again? Well yeah, I already have…

Great, tough flashlight.
I'm going to give it 5 stars, because that's what it deserves. It's a bright light and me-proof. If something can survive my clumsy self, it's pretty tough. Also, battery life is amazing! Will give you 100 lumens (brightness setting 3 of 5) 2 hours a day for five days straight and still have some left in the tank. HOWEVER, and this next bit is completely on me. The previous version of this allowed one to select brightness controls from the tail switch only if desired. I bought this because I wanted that function. This version does NOT have that function. The tail switch is on/off only. There is a youtube video floating around of the old version that can do that. This is not that version. It's on me for not verifying, so I can't knock the light. And if you need the strobe, this thing has a KILLER strobe. Great for scaring off skunks and some loose dogs on late night dog walks.

Great flashlight with a few minor flaws.
This flashlight is incredibly bright in the highest setting. As others have stated, it can get warm if left on that setting too long. The dual battery option is a must for me. The only thing that loses a star is that it won't tail stand and cycling through the modes is a little difficult because of the button placement. I could see it being a problem for small hands.

A smaller profile than LD-20 will get used to it, tbe usb-c rechargeable battery is great ( i did order more of those) a different boutton to cycle the mode is nice but requires more manipulation, the on/off will stay on the power level you were when you closed it so keep that in mind. Over all a good and reliable light.
