Unplug It Before Setting up New Smart Devices!
I love this smart microwave oven & I had no problems with what others consider drawbacks—like having to press Start after the 30-seconds button is pushed—because my last microwave was also a Panasonic, so I'm accustomed to how the Panasonic folks think. But because I'm chronically ill enough to have been disabled, energy-wise, 35 years ago, & brain fog often makes life difficult, I needed an Amazon associate to help me set it up. You may have no problem at all, though.Because of my erratic energy problem, I can no longer get an accurate Rx for eyeglasses, so reading & understanding instructions in print too small for many elderly folks—80-yrs old is now closer than 70 for me—isn't an option which reduces me to trial & error. So, it took me a while to realize that one must press Microwave before using the dial for minutes & seconds at High power in anything but 30-second intervals.I can't eat like most people do, so for me the Popcorn button & many of the settings at the Start dial are useless. So, I use Alexa primarily & often to cook fresh & frozen vegetables for which I learned to say "microwave" instead of "cook" to get the job done. Otherwise, Alexa may tell me HOW to cook them instead of actually cooking them. When cooking times are given, on a "steamables" bag for instance, I automatically give Alexa another 90 seconds of cooking time. And then afterwards I have her countdown 5 minutes to allow the hot veggies to continue cooking w/their own heat since "al dente" veggies are more difficult to digest. Both this smart microwave & my old Panasonic overheat foods to be reheated, even if I turn the dial to minus for a shorter microwaving time. So, unless you really want your food piping hot, remove it instead of stirring if that's what's called for at the beep before it's finished. If you want Alexa to add time when the microwave signals that it's done, tell her before the beeping is over. Otherwise, she may tell you that the microwave isn't running. My Panasonic standard microwave & my Ninja Foodi played very well together even though it was also 1200W. Unfortunately, this one trips the breaker it's on if I use it while my Foodi is also in use.But the most aggravating for me is that it interferes with setting up new smart devices & conversing with Alexa if it's running. It took me 2 years to realize that this microwave, plugged into the same outlet, was preventing new devices from finding my network. Prior to that I easily set up everything I needed to. Amazon's own plugs especially used to set up in a flash. So, tonight when I had difficulty getting an Amazon smart plug set up, I recalled I needed to unplug this microwave 1st because that's what worked setting up another Amazon smart plug a few months ago after the tiny print somewhere mentioned "microwave oven". Moving the microwave elsewhere, as suggested, isn't an option for me. So, my solution of temporarily unplugging it, not to mention perseverance, is what works for me.That has been the case even with those devices that I installed years ago, not just new ones. So, try that if you're having difficulty. Other than that, that's the only problem I've had & I would buy this microwave oven again should the need arise.

Blind person friendly!
Excellent for the legally blind and visually impaired! It automatically connects to your WiFi. My son loves it! Sure as with any WiFi device in your home it might need reconnection but it’s not a big deal at all. It’s been a big help to my son and I’m happy we found this Thanks to another review from blind person.

Plenty of power
Works well but the menu power/time settings are more complicated than needed. Fits in small space.

No more microwave ovens with Alexa
This is the third microwave with Alexa i have owned, and they were all poor. First, Amazon, then Sharp (the worst of the lot with its terrible Redenbacher popcorn key] and finally this Panasonic. Setup was a breeze as I only had to designate an Alexa grouping, and presto it was connected and the correct time was displayed. This is when the problems started. First, every time I tried sensor cook it would disconnect the oven from the network. I then had to hold down the popcorn key for 3 seconds to reestablish the network. Ths was enough to warrant a return. Then the door closing mechanism went out, and Alexa would say door must be closed to operate microwave. Then when I tried voice commands, Alexa would say microwave not responding. This is when I called Panasonic, and they said they would elevate the ticket and to expect a call from one of their specialists within 30 minutes. This never happened. A real shame since I have high regards for Panasonic microwaves.

Works great with Alexa
This is a big, powerful microwave that looks sleek and classy. It’s so easy to use. I just put the food in, close the door and tell Alexa what to do!

Overall good microwave, but setup is difficult if you have to do it
From a quality standpoint, I like the microwave. It's easy to use and does a good job heating food. The "smart" portion of the microwave is pretty buggy and nothing works right, so honestly you're better off just buying a far cheaper and dumber microwave.Originally when I bought it, it came pre-setup using my Amazon profile with my saved WiFi password, so it just connected right away out of the box and I could control it with Alexa. So, if you can purchase the microwave this way, it'll probably work. Unfortunately, a month or so ago I bought some new WiFi hardware and had to setup my WiFi network again from scratch. Trying to get this microwave to connect with my new WiFi was near impossible and took several hours. Every time is just some error message. I believe the phone has to be on the same network as the microwave and it has to have special settings and use a certain WiFi band and the planets must all be aligned. I honestly forget how I finally got it working (probably no less than 30 factory resets), but it was no small task. Almost every other WiFi device I own "just works" with minimal hassle. The other annoying "smart" feature is the clock. It appears to want to sync to Alexa for the time. All my Alexa devices have the correct time. However, the microwave clock is always off by three hours no matter what you do. If you set the clock manually, it will just be off again by three hours a while later next time it "syncs". In the Alexa app "Devices" tab if you find the microwave, you can set the device time zone however nothing you set it to makes any difference. The time is always wrong. I've filed several help tickets with Panasonic, but each time, a bot just responds to the ticket with instructions on how to manually set the clock. If you reply to the ticket, no one responds.Overall, seems like a halfway decent microwave with all the "smart" features crammed in last minute with little to no testing. Panasonic offers no customer support on the product and there's no way to talk to a human.
