This really seems to get the tear ducts flowing. It takes some experimentation to get the heat right, and I found the warmer you get it the more results you get, but of course you don’t want to burn yourself. That’s where the experimentation comes in and a second or two in the microwave can make a bigger difference in heat than you might expect. Keep in mind I’m a guy so women should probably use extra caution since their skin might be more sensitive from all the bizarre compounds they’re constantly putting on their faces. My ophthalmologist recommended using it for two 5-minute treatments, reheating it after the first one. This was good advice because the compress cools too much by the time 10 minutes are up, as some reviewers have noted. Again, be careful about the heat. Warmer=better up to a point! Also be sure to go by the cleaning instructions on the tag. No immersion!

Great or Dry Eye problems. no dripping water out of ice packs. Just warm and comfortable.

Simple to use. Just pop in microwave and make sure it is not too hot. The beads adjust to your face and eye shape. It does not produce moist heat for me nor does it stay warm for more than 10 minutes. Moving on to brand that runs off of a battery charge. Relaxing but short lived.

I have *extremely* dry eyes. Most of the time they feel either goopy or like I have something stuck in them. Systane Ultimate didn't work, Pataday didn't work, Azelastine didn't work, steroid eye drops didn't work. My optometrist suggested that I try warm compresses 5 times a day for 10 minutes, and that it should be warm/hot enough to be uncomfortable, but not actually enough to burn the skin. I'll just say right up front that I don't have time for that. I do however use this mask for 3-5 minutes at least once a day, sometimes twice, and it definitely helps. I heat it for 30 seconds, put it on my eyes LIGHTLY because it's super hot at first. I still use it but I kind of squeeze it height wise so the heat is only right where my lash line is until it cools enough for me to just let it go. Once I do that, I push in where my lash line is to make sure I get ample heat there because it does cool quite fast. Once I remove it, I push on my lash line with kind of a back and forth motion to try to express the glands. I can't really feel the glands release the oils when I do it, but afterward I can tell that my eyes have way better lubrication. Another bonus is that it creates moist heat. I don't know how these beads do it but you don't have to put it in water or do anything in particular to make it so it releases steam, but they do. My orbital eye area feels nice and moisturized when I take them off. Doesn't last, but it's nice for that moment. The only thing that could make this better is if I didn't have to put it in the microwave each time I want to use it. Sometimes I use it downstairs and that's more convenient because I am near the kitchen, but when I want to use it at night and I'm already upstairs it's kind of a hassle to have to go down to the kitchen to heat it. I know there are some masks that are self-heating like those hand warmer pouches, and that would be fantastic for this product. Verdict: I'll definitely keep purchasing these. The price is right, and they just plain work.

The mask along with the Optase eye drops really help with my dry eye symptoms.

I have been using this mask for the past week to treat a stye, it has helped a lot with loosening up the oils and I found it really helpful with dry eye symptoms HOWEVER, be very careful with washing the mask. The website does not do a good job explaining how to properly wash the mask and all the tag says is "to wipe and rinse thoroughly" which is vague. I am leaving this review in hopes that it helps someone who may be wondering or had the same issue. I hand washed my mask with cold water and I fully submerged the mask to wash and thoroughly rinse. Upon initially submerging it I heard a crackling and popping sound which I thought was a bit odd bit proceeded to wash. I then air dried over night and when I went to use the mask later that day, I felt a fine sandy like residue on my face afterwards. I washed my face immediately, and decided to cut the mask open to see what was going on. The mask had a fine dusty like powder along with the. hydro beads which I am not sure was a result of washing or not, but this does not seem safe. In general there should be more clear emphasis on what NOT to do if washing the mask a certain way destroys the beads or causes them to explode. I am sure I am not the first person that has washed it this way and if this is the outcome it needs better safety testing or clearer instructions.

Non vale certo come terapia risolutiva, e utilizzatelo solo dietro suggerimento medico (se soffrite di glaucoma o altri disturbi della pressione oculare il calore anche moderato è controindicato), ma usato regolarmente allevia i fastidi. Non superate i tempi di applicazione suggeriti. Un consiglio, utilizzate delle compressine di garza o tessuto non tessuto tra le palpebre e la maschera per prolungarne la durata e mantenerla pulita, è lavabile ma deve asciugare almeno 24h quindi meglio lavarla il meno possibile.

Da ich schon seit ein paar Jahren an chronischer Blepharitis leide und auch regelmäßig mit Gerstenkörnern zu kämpfen habe, habe ich nun wirklich schon einiges ausprobiert und versucht. Habe mich belesen und weitergebildet und bin über PubMed auf eine Studie gestoßen, in der dieses Produkt mit einem anderen verglichen wurde. Dabei schneidete die OPTASE Moist Heat Eye Mask am besten ab. Bereits vorher habe regelmäßig Trockenwärmebehandlungen mittels Rotlichtlampen durchgeführt, aber einer Meinung nach erhielt ich damit keinen wirklichen Erfolg. Erst durch diese Augenmaske habe ich zum ersten Mal das Gefühl, dass die Symptome gelindert wurden (mit paralleler Lidrandpflege.) Nach knapp 2 Monaten Anwendung hat sich erst ein neues Gerstenkorn gebildet, was für mich schon erfolgsvorsprechend ist, da ich eigentlich permanent an irgendeiner neuen Drüse eins besaß. Daher kann ich dieses Produkt mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Auf die Lidrandhygiene sollte trotzdem auch geachtet werden. Zur Anwendung: Die Augenmaske für 25 Sekunden in die Mikrowelle bei höchster Wattzahl und danach 10 Minuten auf die Augen legen. Der Klettverschluss zur Befestigung finde ich auch sehr praktisch. Fazit: 5 Sterne völlig verdient!

Yo pongo la máscara 25 segundos en el microondas y luego lo dejo sobre los ojos durante unos minutos antes de irme a dormir. Cuando lo quito hago un ligero masaje a los párpados. De esta forma puedo usarlo a diario, cosa que nunca había logrado hacer cuando usaba compresas con agua caliente, ya que era un método mucho más engorroso y lento. Aunque se puede lavar, yo he optado por utilizar un pañuelo de papel fino o una tela fina entre la máscara y los ojos para evitar que se ensucie tanto, ya que con el calor cualquier resto de maquillaje que no hayas limpiado bien acaba en la máscara. Llevo meses utilizándola y he notado mucha mejora en la sequedad de los ojos y en la inframación de los párpados, y es con mucho el sistema más económico que he utilizado hasta ahora. Sin duda lo volveré a comprar cuando deje de funcionar, aunque hasta ahora ha aguantado meses de uso diario sin que haya notado ninguna pérdida de eficacia.

In the last three weeks, I've used this eye mask about five times. I followed the instructions, washing it by hand and then popping it in the microwave. But then, out of nowhere, it started to leak! The beads inside began to come out, looking like shiny, broken glass. I was really surprised, especially since I was so careful to wash it by hand and follow all the instructions. At first, I really liked the mask. The couple of times I used it, it felt great, but then it started to irritate my eyes. I trust Optase as a company, but I'm scratching my head about why this particular mask would leak like that. I even took photos of the problem, but there's no way to upload them here. So, as much as I wanted to like this mask, I'm left feeling a bit let down by this experience
