Too small... Too pricey... Just right.
I have all cast-iron, cast-iron with enameled exteriors, and fully enameled cast-iron cookware from Le Creuset. When it comes to cooking, cast-iron's heat conductivity, in my opinion, cannot be beat on any type of cooking surface; but Le Creuset can get really pricey for larger pots, so I opted for a different brand when I had purchased my initial braiser. It was a 3 quart size and made by Lodge, but my son (the dishwasher of the family) demolished it by constantly leaving it "soaking" with metal utensils in the bottom of it, so over time the exposed cast-iron edges rusted, on top of the enameled surface getting nicked up. It was a good braiser, but I always wished it was larger when I prepared certain dishes in it.I had been tirelessly searching for its replacement, and narrowed it down to this one. It arrived fairly quickly, and when I prepared our lamb roast for Thanksgiving, it didn't disappoint. It's very solid and well built. It was perfectly wide and deep enough (given its 5 quart size). I don't particularly care for the steel/metal finish on the handle instead of it being black, but it's doable. It was a fraction of the cost of a 5 qt. Le Creuset braiser, and it handles meals just as well, too. I love that it has the lighter finish on the interior and none of the enamel had any blemishes or imperfections upon arrival.I have read other reviews during my search for enameled cast-iron braisers, where customers complain about their weight...Well... It IS cast-iron, and the larger the pan, the heavier it is. So if you cannot handle a heavy pot or desire a light one, this pan is not for you.Now that my son is older and has learned the value of things, I see this one lasting a lot longer than its predecessor, and I am not left wishing it was just a little bit larger when I am cooking, either.

Eat all you want and have 6 pack abs!!!
Absolutely love the color. (I would have bought a Le Creuset, but can’t afford it.) This Crock Pot cooks just fine. Way better than the short paella pans. You can serve the dishes in the same pot. I have made coconut curry paella, soups, noodles, black ink squid paella with lobsters. The pot is durable and weighs a ton though. After you wash the pan, you can hug it and it doubles up as weights so you can do tons of crunches while sheltered in place. Then you can eat all of the foods you cook in it and have 6 pack abs at the same time! 😀🤣😂 Love it! ❤️❤️❤️

Sticks and Stains All Around
From the first minute I held this item in my hands, I knew it would be low quality. Any part that was coated felt nice, but there was a lot of exposed iron that clunked and clashed every time I opened and closed the lid. Then there were the tiny dents along the exterior surface. But I didn't care. I loved the size, and the promised functionality. Even though I only handwashed and dried it, over time I noticed rust forming along the exposed iron ring of the lid and the pan, especially if it was upside down on my kitchen towel. I let go of that too. With every use, food got stuck on some parts of the pan, even though I had used olive oil in my cooking. But, with some extra baking soda and vinegar, I could clean up most of the stain, so I said fine again. Lastly, I roasted some walnuts, which stained the entire surface with streaks and lines, that was it. No amount of baking soda+vinegar or hot water+dish soap helped. So after only 4 months of light use, I had to ask for a refund, and retire Crockpot braisers for good. So much for using cast iron pots for a whole lifetime. I guess you really get what you pay fore...

Attractive stove to serving
It is a nice and heavy weight cast iron pot that is attractive enough to take right to the table for serving. The enamel surface inside is not the quality I was expecting. Foods stick even when using oil and the inside surface has slightly stained after just a couple uses.

Cast Iron cooking at it best.
I like this braiser pan so far I have prepared chili, split peas with ham, braise chicken thighs, stuffing for stuffed peppers. Each dish came out great. The family enjoyed the meals. I prepare dinner for 5 adults and 1 toddler nightly. Leftovers get taken to work next day. This is one of the better cast iron products I have purchased.

Great pan!
Works really good, just as well as the other one, but much more affordable. This pan is a great bargain- I highly recommend it.Update: the enamel on the handle somehow already chipped.Surprised that it chipped so soon.

What a great item to round out my collection
It looks great! I actually use it for boiling water for my bagel bath and heating oil for donuts. I have 3 other cast iron pieces and this makes 4. I love cooking with them. This one is every way as good as my most expensive $200+ pot.

Quite nice. Makes me long for a commercial range oven......
This pot is lovely and functions well. I've used it numerous times so far to cook for my large family and I believe I'll have decades of use ahead.I do find that it does not fit the biggest burner on my LG gas stove quite well enough. The solution is to be a bit more patient with food heating on a too small burner and to keep stirring the outside edges that do not heat as well from the too small flame diameter. The second solution would be a commercial range, but, well, you see where that might not be likely to happen. It does work excellently in the oven.I like it and I'm certainly glad I purchased it.

Chips easily
Chips easily, after a week the edge of the lid chipped, and now the handle is also chipped after two weeks of use (a few times a week). We are careful with the dish, it’s not well enamelled. I bought this as it was cheaper than other brands, and, I love the size and versatility, but regret spending over a hundred dollars and it not being worth it. We use a sponge that is safe for non stick dishes, nothing abrasive. We also only use either plastic or wood utensils while cooking. We also let it cool before washing. This isn’t our first enamelled cast iron dish, but I won’t buy this brand again. You can see in the photos that there are spots on the lid where it looks repainted.

Absolutely beautiful!
I took a chance and tried this beautiful pan from Crock-Pot. I have had a LeCruset for years in a larger size (second photo) and I love it, but I wanted a shorter pan that would also serve as a casserole. I didn't want to spend the money on the LeCruset brand though and was hoping that I could find a viable alternative. I was not disappointed. The Crock-Pot pan was less than 1/3 the price of a similar-sized LeCruset pan and to make things even better, there was one available through Amazon's "Warehouse Deals", bringing the cost to less than half. The 'damage' was stated as "less than 5%" so I thought I would take the chance. I was nervous, but when the pan arrived I find it to be pretty near perfect. The box was a little scraped, but it is - well - a box and didn't matter in the least to me. The second photo shows the pan next to my LeCruset and they make a perfect set. I see no difference at all in the finish, weight, or quality and look forward to a long, happy, and tasty relationship with my new pan. I am thrilled! :)

Defective
Good price for the pan, it was the shape and size I wanted, however the bottom of the pan is not flat so it does not sit flush on the stove top and therefore does not heat evenly. This wouldn’t matter if I had a gas stove, unfortunately mine is a glass top. The enamel coating is not great either, there are two places where the cast iron shows through. Although the price was good, it is still too much too spend on a defective product. I will be returning it.

Love it!
This saute pan is perfect! Didn't get chipped in shipping, the blue is gorgeous! As for clean up, it's a breeze, I use a silicone scrubber. I think it will last me a lifetime. As for braising meat then putting in the oven to cook, the self basting lid is perfect! I made liver, braised it, then put in the oven on a low temp, it was melt in your mouth tender. Need I say more? Definitely recommend!
