Good, Limited, Razor
I purchased this in December of 2010-- or 1 1/2 years ago-- and I've used it almost exclusively throughout. I trim 1-3 times a week. I've traveled with it all over the country. The good:-battery life has always been exceptional. Never had it run out of power unless I just flagrantly didn't charge it for weeks on end.-if the distance you want trimmed is the amount the head offers, it will trim is evenly and reliably-very very easy to clean, and to clean well. I never feel like it's building up residue. The bad:-it's always felt plasticky. It works as well or better than my previous $50 (at target) trimmer, but it feels a lot less glamorous in my hand.-the 10 settings are worlds apart. The difference between any two settings is pretty dramatic, and it took me months to find setting I liked.I bought it for $30 on Amazon. That seems like a good price. For a cheap-to-midlevel trimmer, this is a good bet.I see it priced over $100 now on Amazon. That's absurd. Absolutely not nice enough to be worth over $50.(minus one star for being plasticky, and having too little control over trim-setting length)

great little trimmer
You wouldn't know it by the model number or the name, but this seems to be the successor to the long-discontinued Norelco T860 Beard and Mustache Trimmer. My T860 lasted for years and years, and in fact it's still working, although the battery now only lasts a few days. The QT4021, besides changing the color to black/red and adding a more grippable rubber coating on the handle, upgraded the battery from NiCad to NiMH.As others have pointed out, this is more of a beard and mustache trimmer (as it was originally named as the T860). This trimmer is smaller than the gargantuan vacuum trimmers such as the Philips Norelco T780 Rechargeable Vacuum Trimmer, and fits into smaller spaces like the area between the nose and the upper lip. If the QT4021 holds up for me as well as did the T860, I'll be happy.

Excellent simple versatile trimmer
This trimmer I love because of its simplicity, ease of cleaning, and versatility (operates by battery AND direct plug-in).The previous posts that downrate the product because of the battery probably don't know how to use Nickle-Metal-Hydride batteries. The trimmer is clearly labelled on the back with a battery icon in which the letters "NiMH" are written. This trimmer runs on a Nickle-Metal-Hydride battery, which experiences depletion or voltage depression, or what's commonly called a recharge "memory".So all you have to do to keep this trimmer in top shape is FULLY discharge the battery BEFORE recharging it. For years I've successfully used various sorts of NiMH-powered devices by maintaining care. All batteries eventually wear out, or gradually deplete voltage levels, even Lithium batteries (which do not have memory, and are increasingly used in cell phones, electric cars, and sonic toothbrushes). Hopefully we'll be seeing new beard trimmer models with Lithium batteries soon.

Does the job
I'm very happy with this trimmer. I have a full beard and the trimmer keeps it perfectly trimmed. One advantage is that the adjustble head is all in one piece. You don't have to change heads to get different lengths of cut. That makes the job quick. The head lifts up easily for quick cleaning; I clean it every time I use it to keep the motor unincombered.Note: The manual suggests to run the battery down all the way before recharging; it is easy enough to follow that counsel. The trimmer comes with 9 stops to designate the length of the hair. I use stops 3-5 which is perfect for me.Before buying this my old trimmer was a Remington, which I thought was great, but this shaver is clearly better.

Almost Perfect
After looking at many different models in many different stores, and actually ordering and returning one (thanks Amazon) due to not trimming close enough, this one gets it right. And it's not that I am looking for a 5 o'clock shadow; for me, it's lowest setting is way too close.Doesn't pinch, bind or cut my face and is easy to hold and control. Why four stars and not five? Krappy old-tech battery that can't (shouldn't) remain plugged into the charger. In order for the battery to last, it needs to be charged and then run down - not topped off. A pain for something not used everyday. It could also use a travel case, as the first time I took it with me it switched on and ran down in my bag. Glad I brought the cord.

Very Glad I made this purchase!!!
I was very unsure about which of these trimmers to buy, but I'm glad I went with this one. It's very easy to use and it's nice to not have to worry about attachments to change out and keep up with. All you have to do is simply twist the dial and you can cut your hair to have the 5 o'clock shadow, turn the dial and trim your goatee/side burns, or change it to one of the higher settings and actually cut your hair.. It's truly an all in one device. This replace my Mach 3 Fusion razor and my hair clippers. All for this amazing price. I've had it for a little over 2 weeks now and i use it every few days, it's still on it's first charge. The good thing about it is that you can simply plug the adapter into the wall and use it while it's charging if you need to.The only issue i have against it would be the fact that it does kind of throw hair, but that's just because it cuts so fast. The only time it has done this bad was the first time i used it and my facial hair was a little thick, I was waiting to see how well it would perform. But if you keep everything cut every 2 or 3 days it's not that bad at throwing hair..I Fully Recommend this..

Nothing like it, shame about the battery.
I'm giving this 5 stars even though mine died, first the battery, then the motor. I have never found another trimmer that worked half as well as this one for cutting my beard to...

Two Thumbs Up!
Without a doubt the best made, longest lasting and easiest beard and mustache trimmer I have ever owned. This one is a keeper.

Great corded clipper
Bought to replace older model I had for years. Just like first one, the cordless operation failed to work almost right away. The batteries suck.
