I've never given a 5-rating before!
Love these! Always have. This is the second set I've purchased. The first 6 lasted 10+ years and, in addition to a clever elastic tether that anchors in the headphone jack, had a wonderful metal mesh business end. The newer ones don't--sadly--but they are still extraordinarily effective, durable, and accurate. It's obvious that this company places a lot of value on offering quality products at a reasonable price.

Initially a bit disappointed- but now very happy!
UPDATED REVIEW- 1/19/2014 After my initial review and 3-star rating, someone from The Friendly Swede contacted me and thanked me for my feedback, offering me a replacement set of my choice. I was leaning toward just getting another set of the 5.5" thin tipped version- thinking it was a fluke that one of the 3 I originally received seemed defective (more on that later). But I was also curious about the 4.5" thicker tipped ones since they were shorter and might be a little more convenient to keep with my tablet. I ended up going with the 5.5" ones, but they ALSO included a set of the 4.5" styli!! And both reps I dealt with were extremely friendly and nice. This is clearly a company dedicated to great customer service. So now I've had a chance to test both types from the Friendly Swede, and also a few other styli (including Wacom Bamboo). Hands down, Friendly Swede wins for excellent quality and value, and outstanding customer service. And the colors they offer are gorgeous. I've had to adjust my expectations about how a capacitive stylus is supposed to work. Basically, it isn't a pen- and even the thinnest of styli aren't going to give you the experience of a pen on paper. The new Microsoft Surface has a very thin tipped, pressure sensitive Pro Pen-which is kind of what I had expected in a stylus. But that is a special technology- and it's still not the same as paper and pen- it feels weird to have a hard tip writing on glass. So now, knowing the limits of capacitive styli, and having spent quite some time playing with different types, I am very happy with the Friendly Swede styli. Even the silver one I originally thought was defective isn't so bad, now that my expectations are adjusted. I can't see any reason to ever purchase another brand of stylus. Original review- 1/8/2014 I wanted to love these, I really did. Based on the ratings, everyone else does. But the tips are not as thin as I expected, and the first one I tried out of the package (silver) didn't work very well- I had to press REALLY hard in order to get my Nexus 7 to respond. I tried the next one (black) and it was a little better- but I still had to press hard and it was not as precise as I would have liked. The third one (red) was about the same as the black, maybe a little better. But none of them are as precise or responsive as the ballpoint pen/penlight/stylus gizmo I got as a gift a few months ago, which these were intended to replace. Upon further inspection, the tip on the silver stylus sticks out a lot further than the other two. I tried changing out the tip, but no matter what tip or cowling I put on the silver one, it always sticks out a lot further. I think this is the source of the problem- the tip sticks out too far and creates a little bubble at the end of the stylus that is too fragile/squishy. If you hold the styli up side by side, the silver sticks out the furthest, the black sticks out less, and the red a little less than that-which roughly corresponds to their performance. All of them stick out further than the pen/stylus I've been using- and because the tips are narrower, it makes them less stable. Other than that, they're great- the form factor is good, I love the lanyards, and they are a great value. My husband tried them out on his Microsoft Surface and he agreed the silver one is a problem but he finds the other two OK. So we will be keeping them. But I will continue searching for another solution. I just can't get used to writing with a fat, imprecise stylus. Maybe I'm just too picky and I should give up on the idea entirely- I suppose you can't expect a stylus on a tablet to ever approach pen and paper.

For my purposes, it works fine-- but the tips and their replacements are highly variable in how they perform.
ORIGINAL POST: I've had these for three days. I'm currently using the silver one with the tip that was already installed in it. I have become a heavy stylus user ever sense I've come to grips with the fact that I detest paper and digital notes are easier to keep track of and organize. Of course, nothing beats the speed of writing using pen and paper, but the convenience of iPad-writing (e.g., ease of erasing and reorganizing what you wrote) makes digital writing with the iPad well worth it. So, on to my review 5.5" Thin-Tip High Precision Universal Capacitive Stylus Pens from The Friendly Swede (TWS)-- PROS: 1) Paradoxically, although it is pretty "grippy" on the screen and has noticeable friction to it that deters easy scrolling, this makes it really great for when I am writing using Noteshelf and even Penultimate. I feel like I have a great amount of control over pen, whereas my amPen 3-in-1 hybrid stylus with microfiber covering the rubber tip glides very smoothly-- so smoothly that it takes more effort and focus to write more legibly. With the hybrid stylus, my handwriting is noticeable worse. With the TWS "thin-tip" stylus, however, I can write smaller and squeeze words into tight spaces better than with any of the other styluses I have. (I have not used one of the expensive, Bluetooth styli yet, but the reviews of them leave a lot to be desire for those prices.) 2) The tip I used is harder than the tips on my other cheap/inexpensive styli. Although I am a little worried that this will scratch might screen (and I have had bad experiences with screen protectors), the harder tip further makes it easier to write. I do have to apply pressure, but, to me, it feels more like writing on a piece of paper than on a tablet. Plus, because it is hard, I've discovered that the palm protection in Penultimate is actually very good. With softer, fatter tips on other styli, the iPad would often leave writing/chicken-scratch from my palm, requiring me to frequently undo or erase. This is much less of an issue with this particular TWS stylus. Instead of paying about $100 for a highly flawed, lesser-rated Bluetooth stylus, I get what seems to be the same benefits much cheaper and with essentially no tech glitches coming from the stylus itself. 3) Includes replacement tips, which I keep in a desk draw for when I need them. (I keep a back-up stylus in my messenger bag.) You won't have to buy a whole new stylus or breeze through back-up styli if the tip gives out. 4) You get three for a bargain-basement price. Even if you are prone to losing styli, they are inexpensive to replace. 5) They look and pretty much feel like writing with a pen. Although they are hollow, this was a pleasant surprise. - 6) The length is perfect! Not too long, not too short. At 5.5" in length, it's very pen-like that way. 7) Looks great! I have been using the silver one, but the red one would look really great with a red, leather iPad Smart Cover if I ever get one of those. 8) The pen sticks to my iPad Smart Covers (and the front of my polyurethane Smart Case) well enough for me to carry the iPad around, although it would get quickly knocked off if I tried to put or keep it in my messenger bag that way. I use caution when sticking my stylus to the cover magnetically so I don't lose it. CONS: 1) As noted previously, it is very difficult to scroll with the TWS stylus, unlike my amPen hybrid stylus. I find that I use the TWS stylus alternately with my amPen stylus for writing and scrolling. 2) Unlike my amPen hybrid stylus, I sometimes have to press virtual buttons more than once with this TWS stylus. I sometimes, but usually don't bother, to reach for my amPen stylus. (I actually rarely switch to press buttons unless I am typing something relatively lengthy on the virtual keyboard.) 3) The TWS stylus is hollow, making it feel sort of cheap, and only parts of the pen (i.e., the clip and the removable piece for replacing the tip) actually stick to my iPad Smart Covers and Smart Case. This is pretty much why I have to keep tabs on it when I magnetic stick the stylus to the cover. For me, the pros very much outweigh the cons. I am getting the TWS hybrid stylus, which is being shipped as I type, to use in tandem with the TWS thin-tip stylus. However, it would be perfect if the TWS thin-tip stylus had a replaceable hybrid tip on the other end (and perhaps a case to prevent the hybrid tip from getting damaged during transport). Bottom line, although this tip is not best from smoothly scrolling through webpages and documents, it is absolutely wonderful for writing and general note-taking compared to the more standard, cheaper stylus that I use. I haven't tried it for drawing very much, but the few times I have, it was easier for me to see what I was doing. The expensive styli might be better for that, but I really don't know. Thanks, The Friendly Swede, for such a great writing stylus! UPDATE 06/28/2014: I replaced the original tip on one of the styli because it seemed to have softened and bent. But now the experience with the stylus is markedly different. It's a lot harder to write, but much easier to scroll. It seems like the first tip I used was either too hard or hardened. That created more friction, which worked well for writing-- but it was horrible for scrolling. Now, with this replacement tip, it is much easier for scrolling, but about average for styli in this price range when it comes to writing. UPDATE 06/29/2014: So the stylus is actually a bit above average for styli in its price range. Even though the tips appear to be variable in the way they perform, they are universally, relatively thin. As such, you can more easily see what you are writing. All in all, this is a great, though imperfect, product that serves its purpose. Not sure if I need to get a more expensive stylus, as they have their own drawbacks that make their costs seem less worth it compared to a less expensive stylus like this one from The Friendly Swede. I know this review is really long, but I take styli very seriously. I am hoping to leave paper behind and use my iPad exclusively for note-taking. If anyone has recommendations on the best/"perfect" stylus to use for writing, let me know!

The Friendly Swede 3 pack - 5.5" Thin Tip Stylus Pens
Just received my 3 pack sylus pens from The Friendly Swede. I LOVE them!!! The only way I could previously text with my smart phone (a Samsung Stratosphere) was by using the talk text feature. I have very small hands and still couldn't get the hang of hitting the keys just right all the time. Unlike my kids whose fingers fly!! I am one of the over 50 group who the kids just love to make fun of when texting!!I was used to always using the keyboard on my other phone and when I upgraded to a touch screen, I realized I needed a stylus. The pens are great - a good weight - very comfortable to hold and I like the length. I bought the black, silver and red and they are all equally nice looking. I started texting immediately and no more errors!! With the lanyard I don't have to hunt around for it either. I like the microfiber cloth too. I had some questions before I purchased and contacted the company. I was emailed back very quickly and all my questions were answered. The representative also told me about their new microfiber tipped stylus which is a little better quality. The reason I choose the rubber tip is because of the extra thin precision tip and the 3 replacement tips. The company states each tip should last between 3 and 6 months, so with the 4 tips I have, I anticipate not having to replace them for a long while. I heartily recommend these pens for not only the quality of the item, but the excellent customer service they provide. The rep was sure to tell me if there was any problems, questions, concerns once I received the pens to get back to her and they would take care of any needs I might have. The price was right as well, actually, I believe the price is a steal for what you get!

Love these styli!
I've been using a stylus with my iPad since I first got it. I've tried several, and generally gone with a more expensive, known name brand. My only complaint has been that they have been large and a little chunky. Better than using my finger, but for someone that prefers a fine tip pen and pencil, less precise than I could have wished. Then I got an iPhone, and the size of the stylus tip was more important than ever. When I saw these, I was a little skeptical, but for the price, figured that I wouldn't be out any more than buying another new stylus of my preferred brand. (They get lost every few months.) When they arrived, I pulled one out to try it. What a pleasant surprise! The stylus has a nice heft and feel to it, just as the other, more expensive brands do, but is slimmer overall. The clip is tighter, enabling it to hang onto my case without falling off if it is turned upside down. And it works beautifully on both my iPad and my iPhone. I gave one to my daughter to try when she came by for a visit, and she didn't return it. She liked it too! I haven't needed to replace the tip yet, although I have checked out how to do that. (The end unscrews, and the tip slides off and on). The tether strings are a touch of genius. One end has a ring to attach to the end of the stylus. The other has a plastic plug that fits into the earphone jack. If you have a tendency to misplace your stylus, this is a much needed piece of security to keep them together. Will I buy another $10 stylus? Not on your life! I would recommend these to ANYONE looking for a stylus to use on their device. And they come in a full rainbow of colors to brighten your life!

Great Stylus For Phone Use But Tips Are Soft and Need To Change Them Often
These Stylus are just okay as I did love these stylus for my phone at first when I got them as they worked really well for someone with fat fingers. The only thing is I wished that they would give you 3 attachments for the 3 stylists instead of just 2. Then you get extra tips which are too soft for me anyways and have to be changed often because of they are just too soft especially if you use them a lot which I do. Wished I would've waited and not bought them or found ones with the mesh ends that I heard about that last longer. But my son thought that they would work well but they don't. They are easy to change the tips which some smaller ones you can't change them at all as I got one from my ex SIL that I don't bother using at all anymore. I keep it in a side pocket in my purse but had the elastic cord catch on things or pull the phone out completely. It's better for me to use my fingers when scrolling as the Stylus goes to places on my phone that I don't want as there isn't much control over it. Okay for texting or dialing the phone but other than that not much use. Don't think I'll be buying these again.

Outstanding stylus and easy to custiomize to my preferences.
I’m ordering another set of these because my wife loses hers. I like them much better than others that I have tried. I use an S4 Mini (I like it very much; I wish Samsung would issue an updated version) – I use the stylus when I have to type more than a couple lines on the tiny keypad. This stylus works perfectly on my S4 with a screen protector and is easy to customize to my preferences. > The conductive rubber tip is easy to replace. To give the tip a much better feel I fill the rubber tip with a little ball of fine steel wool (you can use a paper wad, but the steel improves conductivity). The extra firmness improves the feel. If you want to do drawing, get the stylus made for drawing (has a very fine tip). > I don’t use the pocket clip and it gets caught on things and annoys my hand. Just grab it with pliers and yank it off. It is a C-clip mount so you can snap it back on if you want. I also take the pocket clips off from my pens. > It is easy to make this stylus shorter (so it fits in pants pockets and other places). I trim it to 11 cm. Pull the end plug out (pliers grab the lanyard lug). Use a fine blade hacksaw to cut the tube (a miter box is a big help to make a good, square cut). Sand a bit to smooth the cut (not necessary but good workmanship). Insert the end plug. > I do not like to use lanyards – they get tangled in things – so I grind off the lug. One less thing to poke a hole in a pocket. I like this stylus very much. If you need to draw, get the fine tip stylus specifically made for drawing.

Nothing but great things to say...again and again!!! Love these!!
I really love the weight of the stylus and the fact that they have replaceable tips!! I thought that was really cool and not very many sellers offer that! I do have to say, if you have tempered glass, and this could be just something I need to get used to, (I've only been using the stylus for a day now...and so far only on my iPhone) but it does some like I need a special touch. However, I will update when the rest get used. I purchased this specific set because I have a touch-screen laptop, Kindle, and iPhone (obviously) so I LOVED that there were 3 all having their own lanyard which attach not only into the headphone jack, but also through the other end, so that way if you want to listen to headphones, it's not going to be a problem! I am always losing my styluses (sp?) so it was really the fact that there wasn't just one lanyard to share amongst the 4 or something. That was cool! As far as the sensitivity, again...I will do my best to remember to come back after I've had a chance to use them on both my Kindle (which has an ordinary screen protector) and then my laptop which has nothing. And the weight, again, is great! It's heavy just like a really nice pen, not super light like some. That might make a difference to some, maybe not to others, I like it because it feels more like authentically writing/drawing. Also, the shipping speed was fantastic! Thanks guys!! O, wow, nothing but awesome things to say here, they even include a screen cleaner, and it's really nice!! Surprisingly. Most of the "free gifts" you get in packages like these are not the best, but this is actually nicer than what I use to clean my eye-glasses with, so...for the price, considering I bought one stylus at a local retail store for MORE than this entire set, and it fell and broke in half not more than a few days after owning it, it didn't come with anything extra and I can safely say that I will always come back and buy at minimum my stylus from you guys! I haven't had a chance to check out the rest of your store but being from Colorado, you got me with the moose stickers inside!!! Love them!!!
