Heart Pounding Thrill Ride!!!!
Confession of Murder is a 2012 South Korean film that is amazing, spell binding, thrilling, confusing, complicated and, at times, frustrating. It is full of car chases, foot chases, car crashes, violence and deception. This is definitely an action film. I’m a huge fan of Oriental cinema —South Korean in particular because they produce so many brilliant movies. A lot of their films are slow paced but this one is fast, furious and a real nail biter.Choi is the detective. Lee is the confessed serial killer who, after the statute of limitations has run, publishes a book about his killing spree. The book becomes a massive best seller and makes Lee a star with groupies and fan clubs. This enrages Choi especially since the killer’s 11th and last victim was Choi’s girlfriend.Lee is played by Park Si Hoo who is a gorgeous man spruced up in a Beatlesque manner complete with Beatle haircut, suit and even Beatle shoes. He’s hot. He’s also a menacing figure. He is contemptuous of his victims’ family members — pretending to beg forgiveness of them while taunting them with a snarky smile. He is evil incarnate.Throughout various chase scenes, the killer escapes so many times it is maddening. I actually found myself yelling at my tv a few times when the killer eluded capture! There are so many things going on in this film I won’t elaborate further because I don’t want to give away any surprises. And there are lots of those. And I would suggest waiting until after you’ve watched the film to Google it.I highly recommend this movie.

Great Movie
Warning: This is a Korean movie with English subtitles. Despite the obvious flaws in this movie, it's still a great watch. A serial killer is on the loose and is being stalked by a police officer. There is a confrontation that doesn't end well for the officer. Years later, the serial killer writes a book confessing to all the murders. He does this because there is a statute of limitations for his crimes. Women and the media are entranced by the good looking killer. The officer wants justice. Or is it revenge? The families of the victims want revenge and plot to kidnap the killer. But then there's another twist during a televised debate where a third party comes forward to threaten the claims of the killer. There is a great ambulance chase scene, great acting, and a great plot twist. I'd love to see someone do an American version, but I don't know how they'd get around the obvious roadblocks in our justice system. But judging how bad American versions of foreign films are, perhaps they should leave this classic alone. This time, the $3 fee is worth it. I highly recommend this movie.

An excellent plot - but surprisingly undermined.
Please understand that my wife and I have been dedicated Park Si Hoo fans for years, but we also must be objective on evaluations such as this. The plot of the film and the surprising climax were both excellent, and for the most part the acting was unexpectedly good. However, the film was somewhat sabotaged by the director, a former stuntman for other films. One result was an over-the-top array of totally unnecessary chase scenes and related actions that did not really contribute anything to the story line, much less have much to do with focus of the mystery. Additionally, the Korean penchant for filming summer and spring scenes in the dead of winter must have been brutal on the actors. And for part of the scenes being filmed in a huge mansion owned by a wealthy character - who apparently was too poor to turn on the heat and to film a crucial scene featuring Park Si Hoo in a swimming pool - again in the dead of winter in Korea - were unnecessary, as attested to by seeing these peoples' breaths in summer and spring! Yes, a terrible set of "nits" to pick but these were significant distractions.

Great twists and turns
Was looking for something action packed with a good storyline, I found it! Really appreciated the flow of the story and how unpredictable some parts were. Well done.

A real treat...
After waiting till after the statute of limitations has run out, for murder, The said murderer writes and sells his book onHow I did it", enraging the victims, and detective. The story takes many momentous twists and turns, making the best and worstof the characters want to grind this man in the nearest meat market grinder...The REAL murderer is not even the confessing authormaking this harder to follow, BUT, Takes on a much better flow of thought.A real gem of a movie....put on your thinking caps for sleuthing out the murderer...grab a LARGE drink of your choice, and something to snack on, as it is lengthy...but it is worth itMy BEST to the director for his ability to make a true who whodunit movie!

Good Movie with a few unbelieveable parts
Overall I liked the movie. The action was decent and the story had some nice twists. The only things I didn’t like were some the totally unbelievable action scenes. The special effects were obviously FAKE…like the first time we see the girl with the crossbow – REALLY LOOKED FAKE and totally unbelievable. The ambulance chase scene looked really FAKE too.I wanted to give it 3.5 stars but there is no option for that on Amazon...Is this movie was in school, it would have earned a B- or a strong C+. If you want to see a good Korean “cop movie” watch CHASER or MEMORIES OF MURDER.

Serial Killer Plot Based on Statute of Limitation
Another South Korean movie of the serial killer genre. However, this is based on events following expiry of the stature of limitation on lapse of 15 years of the serial murders commited.Pace of the movie is set from the opening scene on a rainy dark night, with a police detective chasing the serial killer though alleys and never lets up to the end.The Koreans have come up with a gemNo wonder the movie has been remade in Japanese as "Memoirs of a Murderer" in 2017.

A good thriller from the country of many Masterpieces in this genre.
I love Korean cinema, thrillers particularly. This is a good movie referring sometimes like a sequel, sometimes like an homage, to the classic masterpiece Memories Of Murder. It is well made, some frantic action scenes with great editing and fight/stunt coreographies, some typical cynical sarcastic humor. Comparing to the mentioned film Confession of Murder remains a mixed bag for me. A little discontinuous and lacking of coherence in the script, not all the characters seems strong and well acted. A good movie overall from a country giving us exceptional ones, in a genre like thriller movies once I believed could only be made in the western side of the world. Damn I was wrong. And happy to see it

Bof....

Bon scenario.
