Good product! Used it with ease.

This unit works better with the probe function than sensing ambient air. It takes a considerable amount of time to read ambient air - don't expect real time updating. However, it seemed to be accurate within 1 degree of my heating and A/C thermostats' readings. Very simple to use - make sure you have 2 AAA batteries handy (they are not included).For the price, a good tool to have. I just wish the ambient air sensor read and relayed information faster.

Unit I got was useless. Temperature reading changes constantly and at best shows a large error. Tried it with several different thermocouples to measure temperature of boiling water; 1) measurement changed by 10 to 15 degrees F if unit was moved a few inches, and 2) most accurate measurement I could get was off by over 20 degrees F. No way to calibrate unit but since the readout was constantly changing there doesn’t seem to be any purpose. Can’t imagine what this could be used for, but I guess that’s why it’s so inexpensive.

Purchased multiples and they read dramatic different temperatures. Had to return them. Inaccurate!

definitely not instant - took a bit to sense the temp. I couldn't use but my husband decided he might be able to.
