Its great!
I posted pictures of the instruction booklet since I was irritated I couldn't really find any for a stand alone treatment. Hopefully that helped someone. I HIGHLY recommend this as a alternative to olaplex though. I used to be able to buy step 1 but I couldn't so I needed something else. I wanted to try this out and now i plan on buying the full size. Very happy with it. I haven't used it with bleach tho, I plan on trying it. As a stand alone it's great. I use it after using a hair mask(okay like 5 layered on in different parts of my hair) and a protein treatment, then step one. Rinse. step 2. More protein and leave in conditioner spray. Worked great for me. Update 2 years or so later. I LOVE this stuff. I just recently bought more (im broke and lazy) and my hair lovessss it. I've been sticking to mask treatments and protein( my hair takes protein like a sponge its so dang porous) and just remembered how nice this worked. However I checked the ingredients and uhm, they're EXACTLY the same! So I only bought step 1 and it MAKES NO DIFFERENCE! I have some of step 2 left from this and tried it over 1 section after step 1 and it made 0 difference. Sooo I'm sticking to using step 1 only unless one is cheaper than the other. I do use step 1 before a hair mask/protein or just washing my hair. I leave it in for 30 mins minimum (or overnight) or even lightly use it when i style my hair. I recently bleached the heck out of my hair, on top of previously bleached dead DEAD hair too. It really makes a difference. My hair is already very frizzy and poofy but it helps it behave and even take color more evenly. It won't save your hair but my lord does it make a difference in texture, feel and for MY hair the color. Makes my color last longer too BUT makes it harder to bleach out.

Love this product and the Plex shampoo and conditioner available ...
Love this product and the Plex shampoo and conditioner available as well. I won't color my hair without it and thanks to this HD Plex bond treatment my hair has never looked better! I have to color at least every 4-5 weeks, which puts great stress on the hair. All my friends ask, "what type of treatments are you using? Your hair looks amazing. " I have used both Olaplex and the Sally's version and this is far superior. The reviewers that say it is not a good deal due to the amount are wrong. Olaplex is larger and will last 4 treatments, but it is 40.00 a bottle. Which makes it 10.00 per treatment. This has 2 treatments of #1 and #2 making it 4.00 per treatment. Also only the after application #2 of Olaplex is available to general public #1 additive is only available to professionals . Be careful of conterfeits if they state otherwise. If you get your hands on additive #1 to use while bleaching and coloring it is even way more expensive than the 10.00 per application. If the reviewers are using the #2 in the color process its no wonder they are not seeing the results they want. This is not a conditioner, All Plex has a separate conditioner that is amazing, this is a bond reinforcer that seals the cuticle and makes the color last longer. The #1 steps protects the bonds from breaking during the chemical process. I highly recommend this product, but I also highly recommend knowing what you are using, so that you won't be disappointed with your purchase.

Can't Afford Other Bond Repair, This Will Do!
My hair is damaged from a few years of box dye usage. Think cheapest box dye for $2.99 or less! Compound that with being poor, low income/working poor for a few years, being middle-aged, needing to compete with people half your age for jobs and YOU MUST dye your hair to not look old! Ladies, I think we realize that age discrimination is rampant and people get fired for looking too old. Anyway, that's not the point, so my hair is in need of repair because of the neglect over the past few years. I've heard great things about Olaplex but can't seem to be able to cough up the money for it or stomach the price. Same as I can't even afford a haircut at the present and have had to cut my own hair for the past 6 years. I've not used Olaplex to compare this product to it but I think it seems to help restructure the hair and somehow make it look more lively, youthful, fuller of life and adds more shine. I just did the treatment one time with no heat and no chemicals or dyes and so far so good. I put a clear cheap dye processing cap over the product on my hair and just left it to absorb into the hair while I worked on other things for a few hours. I washed it out and put a styling cream into my hair and let air dry, after that I styled my hair as usual. The parts of my hair that felt crispy or fried before have softened but not gone away 100%, see years of damage from dye above. With a few treatments, I may feel brave enough to balayage my own hair now, I guess there's still possibly hope to get a trendy dye job with very little money in your pockets. I don't believe that only the well-heeled deserve to look good, we all do, no matter our income or lack of it! I

I was skeptical this would actually do anything to help but seeing as I was about to bleach my hair for the 7th time on quest from black to Platinum hair. On the last bleach my hair was starting to feel like coarse hay so I was terrified about doing the 7th and final bleach. I added some All HD Plex to my. 40 vol high lift developer and proceeded to bleach my head for the final 50 minutes. I combed my hair throughput to ensure the strands weren't get weak and stretchy and was shocked to find there were virtually any broken hairs caught in the comb. When I washed the bleach out my hair didn't feel amazing but it wasn't a tangled knotty mess and felt better than it had prior to bleaching it honestly. It was still a little rough so I used the second application of full HD plex as a standalone treatment and when I finished rinsing it out my hair actually felt soft again, I can run a comb through it no problem, it feels silky , I haven't had any breakages like AT ALL I'm kinda shocked haha. The only thing I will add is that I've been using a silk peptide treatment of my own concoction which definitely contributed to me surviving up until bleach number 7.

I bleach hair once a month and always use some sort of olaplex knock-off, because several years ago I forgot about a combination of blue streaks and perm waves being forbidden and I literally changed 95% of butt-long hair into chewing gum. But I enjoyed walking with 3 cm hair and I would have never dared otherwise and I looked awesome, so well done for me. Anyway this not at all traumatizing experience taught me to never ever forgo something like olaplex. Never. And I don't. It doesn't matter if it's normal dye or bleach or heavy bleach with powder (normal bleach for other people) I always use some sort of olaplex knock-off. Just ran out of Joanna knock-off and this could be delivered quick, price wasn't bad and it looked promising. In my personal skewed, one-time experience - this is better than olaplex. Maybe because I used olaplex only once. Maybe because I used the entire product, both 12 and 15 ml on this bleach job while I could have used less as per instruction. I don't know. And because I knew the bond maker was doubled I held bleach with powder on my hair for in total 50 minutes. Mixed number 2 product with several other strong conditioners because of it's small size, left it on for 80 minutes. And got luxurious, soft like a kitten, bouncy and obedient hair. Just fantastic. This is the product I will be using from now on, I will just buy the big package. I cannot say for sure "this is better than olaplex" - I know people react differently to cosmetics, but I've used olaplex and about 5 other brands of knock-offs of it, not counting this one. And this is def the best one I ever used. I feel happy and calm knowing I can fall back on this product and that it delivers so well. I know different people have different money capabilities. For me, bleaching once a month, even if I had to pay 6 pounds for dose (2 doses in pack as pack says) each time - I would happily do it. It's just once a month six pounds and hair looks and feels wonderful. I was very surprised with how this performed and I strongly recommend it. I am aware that large pack that supposedly features 80 uses will come cheaper per use than six pounds and that's nice as well, I am happy to have found this product. I would recommend using 12ml bond maker and 15 bond fortifier for a single bleach job in which bleach powder sachet weight 22 grams - but that's me and my choice. I am sure that half the dose would still save the hair, they just probably wouldn't be so soft and bouncy, so wether someone wants to buy this large pack or this single/2use pack I really think it's a good buy. And obviously, I think most people do it, when there is so little of product number 2 it has to be mixed with other high quality, very nutritious conditioner. The kind of conditioner that could normally make your hair greasy or slightly above your normal price range. After all, without the second phase of this product the hair wouldn't work. The instruction says to leave it on 5-10 minutes, but leaving it on for an hour is a really good mask that nourishes hair - at least it was for me. And various websites also recommend extending the time of use of product number 2 so hair uses all it can from product number 1. I would, for the first time in my amazon history, give six stars if possible.
