If Costco (who produces Kirkland items) sells these for $14.47, how does this item have a list price of $22.99 (discounted to $18.47)?

Because you're not buying it from Costco... Imagine if all the stores we shopped at, sold everything for the exact same price (or at retail)... How do you expect them to stay in business?
