Boxtech Ultra Quiet Aquarium Air Pump 2W Oxygen Pump

Admittedly, my aquarium is in the living room with a bunch of other things that make noise; I've got three Eheim 2217s canister filters, a home theater amplifier fan, and a Drinkwell pet fountain running. So it's not a noiseless "bedroom environment". That said, this air pump is quieter than any of the aforementioned "noise makers" to the point I don't even know it's on. As to longevity, I haven't had it long enough to know if this pump is going to go the distance. Regarding how strong the pump is, I honestly just wanted it to be strong enough to drive an air stone and provide additional surface agitation at night. I've got a heavily planted tank, run CO2 during the day, and already have pretty good surface agitation. The air pump/air stone is just for added insurance at night that I'm bringing down CO2 levels. If you've got a fish-only tank and this pump is your primary surface agitator/oxygenator, your mileage may vary.

I do like this product, I should have read the description as I thought it also came with tubing and an air stone as shown in the video.

This is the most quiet air pump I’ve ever bought.

I bought this and a few other pumps on Amazon, including the whisper and Danner. This one was the quietest, and I even use a decibel meter to measure. Boxtech - 46 db Whisper - 48.5 db Danner - 54 db (2 valve) Make sure you use a return valve on any pumps that are lower than the tank like in a cabinet. This is in case the power goes out so water doesn’t flow backwards underneath your tank. If you want to reduce the air pump noise, even more, you can put a silicon pad under your air pump for vibration absorption and then you can use some noise insulation foam in the cabinet. I did this and reduced it from 46 to roughly about 39 1/2 DB.

Its way better than my old device. It is quiet but not like pin drop quiet. I can still hear some noise but i can bear it. It is definitely not ultra quiet. I like its design and color.

Wanted a quiet pump for a small tank and the bubbles are louder than the pump. Plenty of air for one air stone - I backed it off a bit with the regulator that comes with the pump.

This pump is so quiet! The air stone actually makes more noise than the pump, which in my experience, has been unheard of. Works great and it doesn’t look like the standard air pump so it doesn’t stand out. Very very happy with this pump
