Best Non-Gunsmith Sights for 12 Gauge Shotgun
To be upfront. I have an older Mossberg 500 ATP with an 18.5 inch barrel with a brass bead sight. I also use this on a Mossberg 500 security, Model #50778 for reference. It has an 18.5 inch barrel with a brass bead sight.I have not used this on any other model.I got this product after a terrible time learning how to shoot skeet again (Note: There are other shotguns recommended for skeet shooting... I just used this as a couple friends were interested in doing it with a pump shotgun.) One of the range officers recommended that I just was having a hard time using my sights and that the contrast of this product would help. He provided me the link and I was surprised of how low the cost was (under 18 bucks.)The product itself is really just a couple plastic parts with colored inserts. The barrel can't have a rail as it is wrapped around a barrel without it. It is held together by a small screw that can easily be stripped if over tightened. Make sure that is fits snug. I put it in front of the bead sight. After installation, I will say it was like night and day. The next trip to the range changed entirely. I was able to see the sights a lot better and I was able to hit the targets a lot better. After 5 range trips, I eventually took it out and based on training, I was able to shoot with the bead sights.I highly recommend this product to everyone that is struggling to use the bead sights on their shotguns or if they just want a different sight in general without the high cost of a gunsmith.

It fits - barely. Stevens 320 12 gauge.
Update - moved up to four stars. So after receiving the replacement from below, I was able to fasten it on the shotgun. It has about the same quarter inch gap, and you have to really apply some pressure to get the two ends together... But it seems secure. Really makes a difference in low light areas. Would give 5 stars if it was a bit more snug where the circle comes together, as I believe most 12 gauge have the same total barrel diameters.(Original)So - on the packaging of this there is a hand-marked area that says "12-gauge" or "20-gauge," and I ordered the 12 gauge for my Stevens 320 12 gauge shotgun. The piece came nowhere close to fitting, as you can see by the pictures. I don't have a 20 gauge to try it on, but I can only assume that the packaging got messed up and the item was marked a 12 gauge, was actually a 20 gauge. I ordered a replacement to see if it fits any better (and hopefully receive the right one!). I'll update the review when I receive the replacement order.Other than that, it's plastic - so it feels cheap (especially against the metal barrel), but it looks pretty sharp. Hopeful that the replacement fits because I'd love to use it.

Perfect for plain barrels
This barrel sight is awesome, I was able to get it on the barrel and screw it on tight pretty good, there is no wiggle or anything if I try to push on it. I’m able to see where I’m pointing with good precision and the colors are nice and bright, it makes my setup look a lot nicer. I haven’t shot with it on yet but I will have to see how it holds up sometime.

Not a steel bracket.
Too be honest it looks and works fine BUT at $40.00 I expected a steel bracket not polymer ! I failed to fully READ the product info so I've no one to blame except myself . Many others who've bought this product appear very happy with it by reading their comments on it so time will tell if it is tough enough to last for my extended field use . It is nice and bright and easy to see and after running a ten round box of shells through it it's staying in place so far . The heat from that many rounds in short time doesn't appear to have hurt it and since I'll never run that many through it at one time ever again I reckon it'll do . I put it on a 1913 Stevens single shot 12 gauge that's been in my family since it was new because the front bead came off it and I can't find another one to fit it , while it does give it a bit of a clunky look it works better then the old silver bead ( Much easier to see and line up ) . So other than me sniveling about what it's made of I'm happy enough with it that I'll keep it on and just see how it does over time .

Easily installed.
This front sight fit my single barrel 12 gauge just fine. Tightened down well with the 1 phillips screw. If it gets loose after some use I cal always take it off and put a drop of either super glue or epoxy on it then tighten back down, but not expecting to have to do that. Did not have to remove the bead sight to install it. Bead sight was actually helpful in assuring correct position of red center optic! Not for any gun with a vent rib. Only smooth round tube barrel. Repeat customer on this item!

Disappointed to say the least!
After losing the front bead on my Mossberg 500, I needed a replacement and after scouring through countless replacements, I decided to give the On Point Site by Phoenix Technologies a try. I liked that it was not a bulging replacement and it really looks good on the barrel, but to my surprise there was no screw. The company website says this has a lifetime warranty so I contacted them by email and asked precisely what size screw should I buy because I didn’t want the hassle of returning it to Amazon. I received no reply. With that said, I spent a half hour at the hardware store and found that a #6x32 1/2” did the job. Now we’ll see if this sight will last. Forget about a lifetime warranty from this company because you’ll wait a lifetime to hear from them!Update: After making sure this sight was secure, I put 100 rounds of high powered slugs through the barrel…long story short, it did not stay in place. save your money!

Good solution for I a beater shotgun.
I had an old Winchester model 12 that had been mutilated with a poly choke and lost the bead in the process. This has been a surprisingly effective solution to not have a factory front sight anymore.

DECENT
This sight is made of polymer, but feels pretty sturdy on my shotgun. They are very easy to see and look good. Not bad, for the money.
