Coin Collecting for Kids

I really like this book as do my kids. It has great facts and colorful pages. They enjoy searching the house for coins to add but note the date published -2007. The book has a slot for all 50 state quarters but in 2010, The Mint started issuing America the Beautiful quarters which are not included in the book and since its now 2019, these are most of the quarters that my kids come across. I wish there was an addition to the book that you could just add in for these quarters. My fault for not noticing date published. Also, some coins do need to be pushed in hard but probably to be expected with coins in circulation for this long.

Arrived quickly per Prime. This is a great coin collecting starter book. I like the idea of having the not only the 50 states quarters series but also the presidential series and the historical pennies, dimes, nickels and specialty dollars. Great historical tidbits for kids and adults as well as explanation of the minting process and hints to what makes coins rare and valuable. My kids 3 and 6 are alread very excited to fill in the coins. I wish I had one of these growing up. The actual board book is nice and thick, really good quality and will hold up well with the weight of the coins when full. I like these so much I will start giving them as bday presents for other kids.

Awesome book! Purchased as a gift for my grand-daughter and she loves it. In fact, coin collecting has become a family (extended family and friends have gotten involved) activity. The book is informative. We have all learned so very much about money-coinage-currency and the associated history. My only negative critique is that there is no recognition/space of/for the $1 Sacagawea coin which was very upsetting for my impressionable grand-daughter. It was very difficult to explain to her why her very special and only "girl" coin that she was so proud of.... was NOT recognized and provided a place in the book. I can only hope that a newer addition will address this fault!

I got my five-year-old son Whitman's My Quarter Collection (with carrying handles) - love it! There's no text, just places to put state and state park quarters. I got this for my eight-year-old, and she's enjoyed learning about coins, and it's cool that there are places to put your oldest coin and pennies from each year from 1980 through 2020 and coins from your birth year. Less useful are the slots for the presidential dollars, which will take more work to track down. As this is older, it does not have slots for the state park quarters, which I knew when I bought it. However, it is a good beginning guide to coins and coin collecting, and it's sturdy, so I recommend this, too!

This book arrived and looks brand new. They even added in coins in some slots!!!! The only concern was the plastic coil for the binding kept the book from closing and turning pages. My 9 year old grandson messed with it and fixed it enough to work. The plastic sticks out in a coil now but the book is in real good condition. Kids are gifted. I would buy again from this vendor. Thanks!

I bought this as a used item and I was very pleased with the quality no markings or torn pages..it actually past off as new. It is a very nice book for my Grandson who recently deceided to collect coins...it has great illustrations and information about different types of coins....The only draw back was that some of the cutouts that hold the coins were not consistent with the size of the coin so it was hard to keep them in the holder...he ended up having to tape some in...not the best solutions but he doesn't seem to mind as he is only 6 but an older child or a real collector will find it very annoying.

I bought this book for my children (ages 6 and 9) who were interested in money and coins. They love it and spent a couple of hours reading it and inserting coins into it's pages on the first day that the book arrived. The pages are thick cardboard, sort of like a toddler's board book. This makes them heavy and durable enough to hold several coins. I also like that the book teaches about how and where coins are made, and the history of why specif coins have certain pictures/markings. There are places for state quarters, presidential golden dollars, rare/old coins, coins from the child's birth year, plus a whole lot more. Really great book!

I purchased this book as a birthday gift for each of my grandsons ages 8 and 11. They loved it and have been saving their money like crazy just so they can put the coins in the book. I thought that after a couple of months the novelty would wear off, but it hasn't.I originally ordered this book along with a book for the statehood quarters. But when I got the package, I was delightfully surprised to see that this book was so big, and it had spaces for all the state quarters too, in addition to spaces for the new presidential dollars, pennies, coins for the child's birth year, oldest coins, rare coins, and so much more. I returned the other book because everything was already included in Coin Collecting for Kids. It is easily worth double of what I paid for it. It is very educational and instructive, and it makes coin collecting a lot of fun.After seeing how much the boys love this book, my two granddaughters (ages 5 and 7) want to start coin collecting too, so I'm ordering one for each of them.

Ordered this intending it to be part of my Grandson's birthday present.Excellent book , well designed , and absolutely ideal for a youngster to become interested in coin collecting , and had pockets for keeping coins in . Just what i wanted for him,BUTIt was totally orientated to American Coins - and although we asked for a British coin equivalent - none was available . As we do not get a large number of American coins circulating in Lancashire , I had to return the item. Pity the website description makes no mention of this fact.
