Finally, good WiFi kettle alternative to Fellow Stagg EKG kettle!
I previously owned a Fellow Stagg EKG+ kettle. I loved the ability to turn it on using an app since I work on the 2nd floor, and my kitchen is on the 1st floor. Overall, I really liked the Stagg kettle, but my wife hated it since it has a very low flow rate out of the spout. It is good for making pour-over coffee, but it's annoying for her when she makes tea. Our Stagg EKG+ finally died and I had to find a replacement. Stagg has a new updated kettle (EKG Pro), but it's more expensive and has the same restricted flow rate. I looked around and it's surprising how few WiFi enabled electric kettles exist. I finally found the Govee and I was suspicious since it is really affordable. I was used to overpaying for WiFi-enabled devices. I bought it and I couldn't be happier - it is perfect for me and my wife who drinks tea! Pros: 1. Remote on/off via WiFi and the Govee app 2. Ability to schedule in advance using the app 3. Decent flow rate (much faster than the Stagg EKG kettle) 4. The "Hold temperature" button works even if you take the kettle off and put it back on the base. Some kettles turn off the "hold" when you take the kettle off the base. For pour-over coffee drinkers, it's common pre-wet the filter and pre-wet the coffee grounds before doing the full pour of water. This means you'll take the kettle off the base at least 3 times when making coffee. It's nice to maintain the "hold" of the temperature throughout the process. 5. The kettle heats water quickly 6. The app is easy to use - both initial setup of the Kettle to WiFi and ongoing use is simple in the app 7. The kettle is a great value - affordable with nice quality. It is definitely a much better value than the Stagg EKG kettle 8. It can connect to Amazon Echo and Google devices (I don't use this, but it's possible) Cons: 1. The app allows you to schedule heating of water in advance, but it is a one-time schedule. You can't (yet) set up a recurring schedule (e.g., heat up water every morning at 5:45am). 2. The volume of the kettle is 0.8 L which is small. It's enough to make a single cup of coffee or tea, but just barely. You'll have to refill each time - slow if you are making more than one cup at a time. 3. The looks are just ok to me - I think the Stagg EKG kettle looks better, but this is subjective and doesn't affect the taste of my coffee :-) In short, I recommend the Govee kettle and I'm very happy with the app and remote WiFi features!

Great investment
I've had this kettle for years! it still works. It heats quickly. It's temperature is reliable. You can use the app to schedule the water. It does have any leakage issues as long as you do not fill pass the "max fill line". It can be programmed to hold the temperature for 30 minutes or even more. You can even add DIY preset if you don't like the temps on the preprogrammed preset. The weight is light and the look is very nice. The exterior paint does not chip. it's been years of daily use and it is still chip free.

A Pleasant Surprise
Purchase decision: I was looking for a temperature-controlled kettle for brewing tea and coffee. There are much praise about the Fellow EKG in YouTube and elsewhere. But that is expensive for a simple kettle. So I started looking at lower cost alternatives (note: the Fellow is still an option if I can't find a lower cost one I like). I ended up with two alternatives: the Cosori and the Govee. One feature on the Fellow I don't care much about - the rate is restricted. That makes it good for brewing coffee and bad for other general applications. Both the Cosori and the Govee connects to a phone app for control. The Cosori with bluetooth and the Govee with bluetooth, wifi, and Alexa. Finally, I picked the Govee. Unpacking: What a surprise! For a $60 smart kettle, I don't really expect much quality. Yet, the packaging is superb. The paper instructions are clear and concise. The quality of the kettle and the heating plate is very good. I did fumble a little with the app, but not too bad. The app is stable and the interface is pretty good and easy to follow. Hooking up with Alexa is very simple with the instructions (with can't-go-wrong snapshot of interface). First use: Controlling the kettle with the buttons, the phone, or Alexa works as advertised - although I'm not sure how often I will use the fancy remote controls. I attempted to measure the water temperature. It appears that the temperature could be up to 5 degree F lower than the setpoint. But the thermocouple used was not calibrated so I won't put much weight on the data. May be I will try that again later with better equipment. First overall impression: Very good value for the $$. Will come back to comment on reliability, temperature accuracy etc. on later date. Update: I have used the Govee for about 1-1/2 years now. It is still going strong. Being a heavy tea drinker and a morning coffee drinker, I use the Gove no less than 6 to 7 times a day. Nowadays, I use the buttons on the heating base only. The Alexa and phone control thingies are cool for the first couple weeks and that's about it. Highly recommended!

Obsessed is as n understatement
I love that Govee is expanding their product line. I had no idea they made kettles until recently and I immediately added to my cart in time for cooler weather. I have several Govee products. I love the quality of every single one and that they are all controlled with the Govee app or my Alexa. On to the kettle review. It’s beautiful, modern, and sleek but fits in perfectly with my cozy, comfortable kitchen. I love that I can turn on the kettle while I’m still in bed so it’s ready when I go downstairs. Or with the tap of an app, on a chilly fall day, from the comfort of my recliner. There are different pre-settings depending on what heat you need (pour over coffee, oolong tea, etc), or you can customize the temperature you want. It also has a keep warm feature, which is convenient. It would be nice if this same kettle had a larger capacity. That’s literally the only thing that could make this better, in my eyes. 🖤

It's a kettle. It's govee product. Good match. Wish the app worked better for me.
It works really well. I'm not sure if there's a leak or I just spill too much water while filling, but it definitely drips sometimes. I bought it so I could use the app to activate it remotely. For some reason my version of the app refused to download the info and I have to "download the app from the Amazon store" according to govee which I can't figure out how to do on my android. This isn't the first govee product I've dealt with this issue on and I'm sure it won't be the last. It works fine enough for my BF who is the one who needs the caffiene and it'll buzz his phone when it's done boiling. Although I have yet to unlock all its abilities, it's nice to get it going from afar. It's also really nice looking. I've gotten several compliments on the gooseneck. It holds quite a bit of water but if you're impatient like me, only fill it with as much water as you want boiled. All in all, I love govee products since they retain adresses and don't need to be re-configued regardless of if there's a power surge or whatever.

Buy 2 in case youre like me.
I used it for 2 years and then I broke it because I accidentally spilled water on the part that it says not to get wet ^__^ Its easy to use and gives you options for convenience . You can choose the temp and use an app to work it. It was easy to clean. I wont lie I sometimes cooked ramen in it when I didnt want to leave my room and it worked amazing. The gooseneck helps me not miss so much when I start pouring and immediately stop paying attention because i had to think of something irrelevant at that moment. It looks nice, holds a good amount of water in the stainless steel interior. Buy 2 in case youre like me. Dont get the plate wet.

So good! Connected to app via WiFi seamlessly, first cup was PERFECT
I wanted to upgrade my pourover coffee game a little bit without going too crazy. I wanted a gooseneck kettle that was temperature controlled, had good ratings, had decent pre-sets (since I also drink tea and cocoas) and figured since I’m paying more for the temperature control I might as well find one that can also be controlled remotely— I was looking at another brand but was super put off by the price tag. Honestly the only thing that brand had over this gooseneck kettle is the different color scheme (I would have preferred white or pink but sometimes one has to suck it up and go with what is going to be more practical in the end. I trust Govee products. I already have the app on my phone and iPad and I’ve dealt with their customer service before (they are so helpful and patient.) I felt really comfortable buying this kettle knowing that if anything goes wrong in the future the company is here for me. The app detected this new kettle right away, connected and allowed me to control the kettle both through the kettle base and through the app. I put it through a few different boils with fresh water so there wouldn’t be any residual factory taste. My first cup was PERFECT. The temperature hold feature is amazing and I’m so happy I can start a boil before starting my commute home and have hot water ready and waiting for me. Looks nice (even though it’s not white or pink) and I love the styling of the handle and lid knob with the kettle profile. Super easy to clean. Warms up FAST. I’m so excited and feel really good about this purchase.

Good budget option.
Update: I have been using this daily for the past few months. Has been working really well. Fast to heat up and precise. It works well and looks well. I usually don’t use the app function except for some settings for the DIY temp and the hold function and I did that in the beginning and now I just use the buttons which is great. I also got used to pouring with it in a few days and now have good control and really like it. Would highly recommend again especially if you can get it on sale. This is an initial impression after using it for a week or so and will update this review after more testing / time to comment on longevity. Now for my first impression: I really like it ! It looks good and I really like the black color. It does however feel a bit heavier than I anticipated but I got used to it. No leakage and heats up really fast. It’s accurate and reliable. Connection with the app was very simple and quick. Controlling it from the app is also great and easy to do. The temp range is plenty for my needs. And finally it is a great value for the price I paid. The only issue I had with it is the pouring was too fast and the control is a bit more difficult than anticipated. I have gotten better since I used it multiple times and can now control it a bit more but it definitely isn’t as easy as pouring from a fellow Stagg for example, but this is a much more expensive kettle so that is acceptable. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend it. Will update this review again after long term use / any issues that arise.
