Great Laptop. Best Price vs. Performance out there.
First off I've only had the PC for a couple days. Will update review in the future with any other notes. I got this PC since I'm always traveling and I can't take my gaming desktop with me everywhere. I was looking something for around $500-700 that wasn't going to be cheap and would perform some of the games I play with graphics around the high setting and not break my back carrying it around... and at 5.3 lbs it's surprisingly light. There's plenty of other laptops out there from Dell, Asus, and Lenovo that making gaming PCs but you will probably have to pay a little more.PROS:- Laptop is super fast with this M.2 SSD. An SSD is a must in this era of PC Technology and this is my first laptop with an SSD. It does load times in a fraction of the time as an HDD and with 256gb, there is still plenty left for installing any other software/games you may need.- 8gb of RAM is plenty for moderate gaming & multitasking.- GTX 1050 graphics card for gaming. Dedicated GPU. This is important to have for gaming as you don't want on-board graphics as opposed to a dedicated GPU.- 1920 x 1080 full HD screen. For me this is a must when gaming. Having a smaller resolution just doesn't work for me.- Doesn't heat up nearly as badly as I thought it might...It's actually quite cool...and with the fan boost button this makes cooling it down quick and easy.CONS:- This model did not come with an installed HDD for storage like the 1TB model did. These are cheap and easy to pick up anywhere. Installing one of these would be simple since it goes over the currently installed SSD.- 16gb of RAM would have been better, but @ this price point 8gb was good enough. For heavy multitasking 16gb or more would be better, however with being able to install more RAM this isn't a big deal. I have not taken the PC apart yet so I'm not sure if it's 1x8gb or if it's 2x4gb.- GPU only came with 2gb of onboard memory. 4gb would have been nice on this but it's not a deal breaker.- Laptop charger cord is short. I feel like with a laptop the power charging cord should be decently long. I have to be pretty close to an outlet in order for me to plug this in. Luckily there are 6ft extension cords to solve the issue. It would have been nice to not need it however.- Laptop battery only last a couple hours. This is due to the i5-7300HQ & GTX 1050 GPU what a standard laptop would have, possibly on-board graphics & an i5-7200 or something similar. This was expected with a gaming laptop and I wasn't planning on needing to use it without power for long durations. I just wish the battery was removable...sometimes I like to travel w/o a battery so that I can plug it in.- Thing is a magnetic for fingerprints with the matte finish. Be ready to clean it constantly...or just not care about it.Notes- Even with all the CONS listed I'm still giving this thing 5 stars. (Will update here in a couple months).- So this laptop comes with an i5-7300HQ vs the i7-7700HQ. It's not quite as good as the i7 but with a GTX 1050 vs a GTX 1050ti it doesn't pay to have an overkill CPU if the rest of the hardware limits the performance of the overall laptop.- This laptop was not designed to be hooked up to a 4K screen and get the same results. You would need at least a GTX 1060 to get those high FPS rates.- Comes with a 1.25 year warranty if you resister the product on MSI's website. (They give an additional 3 months for doing this). Just make sure to grab the CHK # off the bottom of the laptop, as it's not printed on the box.-Keyboard works quite well. The trackpad isn't very good in my opinion but I always use a wireless mouse so I didn't write this down as a CON.

Quality laptop, great performance
Honestly this was one of the best laptops I've ever owned, as far as price to performance goes, for a couple of reasons:-Easy upgrades! The bottom of this laptop comes off very easily, with the removal of quite a few screws, and gives you access to all the components of the laptop. This comes with only a 256GB M.2 SSD from the factory, so I was very easily able to add an extra 500GB HDD. All the fans, RAM, and everything is available under this panel.-Great screen. Vivid colors, nice and bright.-Good build quality. Keyboard feels great, not spongy. Palm rests are very firm, no flex. It's been months of heavy use now and the screen hinges are still just as tight, hardly move at all.-This laptop has plenty of power for playing games on low to med settings, depending on the game. To get a steady 60FPS in Apex, I had to drop all the settings as low as they'd go. Fortnite plays at a mix of high/med settings @ 60fps, Rocket League on ultra @60FPS, GTA V on med @60FPS. Overall a good performer. Especially given you can overclock it very easily with MSI's dragon center.-Great customer support! I'd asked them on Facebook Messenger, of all places, about potential upgrades/modifications I could make to this laptop, and they were very helpful at providing answers.-When on power saver mode, I get about 5-ish hours of usages.Overall, I have no complaints about this laptop, especially for what I spent on it. If you need a little more beef, they do offer a step up from this model that features an Intel Core i7 and a GTX 1050Ti, however this is perfectly fine for my needs. My only complaint is the very under performing speakers. Laying in bed, I have to have the laptop pulled directly up to my face to hear anything coming out of these speakers. However, that caveat aside, this is still a very good price to performance machine.

Nice item
The MSI GL62M 7RD-1407 has proven to be a stellar investment for my gaming and productivity needs. The 15.6" Full HD display is vibrant, delivering crisp visuals, while the thin and light design makes it portable without sacrificing performance. The i5-7300HQ processor and GTX 1050 2G ensure smooth gameplay, handling demanding tasks effortlessly. The 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD contribute to quick load times and seamless multitasking. The SteelSeries keys provide a tactile and responsive typing experience. While the design is a bit understated, its power and efficiency earn it a 4/5. The cooling system would need to improve a little bit for sure.

Overall Good Product at This Price...
Just i got the msi.. i not into the games yet.. I will update after using it..Pros:1. Configuration was as in the desc.2. Light weight, easy to handle3. Screen is good4. Sound quality is okay for a notebook, cannot expect bass for a notebook.5. System operating fast, enjoying SSD.6. Have cooler boost switch in keyboard.7. GTX 1050 is ready to run mostly all latest games, with some sacrification of resolution. It is more worth in performance/dollar.8. Webcam quality is awesome9. Mic is good10. Has USB type CCons:1. Plastic looks like cheaper one2. I don't like the keyboard printed font3. battery charge goes down quick, may be work 2.5 Hrs. But it is okay for gaming notebook.4. Battery is not removable easily5. No optical drive6. Touchpad click button is not much responsive, little bit hard to press.. It may be design purposefully for steel series keyboard..
