[4 MONTH UPDATE] Great little light: Proven Winner for shallow live reefs (pico, nano, frag...)
Great little light. Have it over a frag tank that's 12 in high x 24 in wide x 18 in deep and it lights up most of it. Coral seem happier since installation. Time will tell if it grows corals well. May purchase another if this proves to be under powered for the frag system. Update (4 months since installation): Proven Winner; albeit, this is over a 12 in high x 24 in wide x 18 in deep frag system plumbed into a 150 gal multi-tank system running full power on an analog timer. We grow soft corals and keep a number of LPS species healthy with a low tech setup using a macroalgae refugium, an aging & under-spec protein skimmer, and a massive amount of live rock/water flow with minimal dosing. This little light has some decent PAR values at shallow depths (may be good for low-light corals at ~18 in depth, no promises). Growth of coralline algae spiked and maintained strong growth rates since early February 2018, without other changes to the system. The most drastic change was to our coral frags, anemones, coral rescue cases, and coral mother colonies. We've never used an AquaIllumination, EcoTechMarine or other high-end LED light on our personal systems but we are definitely impressed by the quick healing, rapid growth and reproduction rate exhibited by the corals in our frag system with this light. For example, we purchased 10 small rainbow rose bubble anemones around the same time and now have 23. Our 2-head green duncan coral that was dying from a flameback pygmy angel attack has between 10 and 15 heads. The correct wavelengths of light are present in sufficient quantity to do what it says it will do, grow corals (given it's applied to a tank that's within its capabilities). Please note that the anodizing on the aluminum will rapidly disintegrate (~2 weeks) when continuously exposed to salt water. This is generally expected with hard anoziding v. salt water (possibly slightly electrified), did not exceed the water line, had no negative impact on our system, and quickly grew over with coralline algae. The support is strong and stable if properly secured with some common sense. The photographs attached were taken today, after ~4 months of use. Perfect for a nano, pico, or frag system. I recommend buying this one if it's on your short list; it's worth the extra over comparable budget led fixtures. Dollar for dollar, it's hard to beat this little giant. Just wish it was made in the USA.

Great device, buying another one, recomend it to others.
This is a very well designed, engineered, produced and finished device. ;0 The light fixture itself reminds one somewhat of a "VCR" cassette. approximately the same width and thickness and height but about two inches linger. The "feel" of the light portion is nice and the finish on the "arm" is rather amazing, it really does feel rather like "skin" when one is handling it, it reminds this person of what is called a "powder" finish. There are multiple screws with turning knobs, two large for the mounting bracket an "cap nuts' again, all well finished. A couple of the cap nuts were missing and the company replaced them quickly, .....arriving on a Sunday! :) Since one will be manipulating it several times during it's lifetime having something pleasurable with which to work is a good thing in terms of repeat orders! :) It has a set of VERY BRIGHT actinic lights and also blue lights of which I cannot opine but they do produce a very nice bright effect in the corals... Quite a "glow". One fish which was acclimated to a "fluorescent" actinic ( which is not as strong ) went and hid under a coral but new ones did just fine with it. I am also using it as a "test" for culturing algae, I teach college biology, and the algae are thriving! :) One of the problems with raising algae in a laboratory / classroom situation is that of it being a multi -use room and I plan to make an "L" frame upon which I will attach this so that the materials can be moved as necessary. The power cord is quite long, 6 feet approximately with a "banana plug" in the middle so that one can get a setting correct on the light itself and not have to turn it on and off when entering and exiting the room. And the reason for that is... The light fixture uses two "touch pad" buttons ( on the top ) with a plus sign and a minus sign, to cycle through pure blue light to the white "actinic" mode. This is a great thing in that it produces a situation rather like " a dimmer" but at no extra cost or extra device which can fail and that, again, in a laboratory / classroom setting a teacher can change the lighting for a particular use and another professor can so do also. The only slight criticism that I might have is that it might be nice to include maybe "two" ( 2 ) red LEDs in the follow on product but that, in and of itself, presents engineering problems and also USER problems in that another button would have to be added for the red LEDs and the USER would have manipulate three buttons. The best fit answer might be...a remote....but again, that presents problems in terms of getting lost, battery acid messing it up and such....so..maybe the best thing is to let an already good thing alone. :) All in all it is VERY well designed, I would recommend it for anyone who needs some kind of design that is not attached to "the underside of a shelf"; and I will be purchasing another for use in the laboratory.

Beatiful and bright light, absolutely blows away LED bar lights but sketchy touch buttons are a deal breaker for me
I wanted to love this light, it's so bright and beautiful and makes plants and fish colors pop out so well it makes our old led bar light look dim and ugly in comparison, to top it off the fan is silent and the mount is sturdy and good looking. The touch buttons are just a complete deal breaker for me, they don't always register each touch and its sometimes difficult to find the touch button in dim light such as evening time when you're going to turn it off or down. For example, Let's say you want to go from full brightness to a dim blue light at night time, you have to press the white light button a bunch of times to get through all the brightness levels until it is completely off, it doesn't always register pushes so you have to just keep pushing and often go past the OFF setting and back to full brightness again and just keep pushing until you finally find the off setting. Then you have to press the second button which controls the blue light a bunch of times as well until it's at the correct dimness level. Then you have to repeat the process all over again the next morning to bring the lights up to full brightness. After a few days/weeks/months of dealing with this you really have to wonder if spending more $$ is worth less hassle. If they just replaced the touch button with a regular set of dials where you could instantly crank it up or down it would be perfect. I'm still giving it 4 out of 5 stars just because it's such a great value. If you absolutely can't afford more for a light and can deal with the annoying touch buttons it gets the job done. Personally I'm returning this and looking into getting lights with physical or wifi controls with a timer to automatically change colors at night but they all seem to be in the $300+ range.

La lámpara funciona perfectamente, un poco fuerte la luz para mi gusto. Pero el único defecto que encuentro es el soporte. Tuve que adaptarlo porqué no funciona ese soporte.

Very good light to have for a fish tank the problems i faced are: 1) it is very annoying to adjust the timer. you have to unplug and plug it to start the sequence. for example, if you want to start the light at 6 am, you have to unplug and plug at 6 am. imagine if you change your mind and you wanted at 5 am (wait for the next day) 2) it is either white, blue or combination of both. you can't have the timer white in the morning and blue in the evening.
