Yes the dipper I own the larger ribbed end does unscrew from threaded shaft.

Q: Where are these made?

Given the fact that many items and/or parts are made in China or somewhere in Asia. It may be assembled and distributed in the US? (3 parts- screws on although you receive it in one piece). I LOVE MINE. Great weight and never disappoints. You may reach out to the seller, A Hardware, or whoever it is. They may be able to answer this quicker. Any country you're more partial with? Perhaps you can start looking in those countries.

It will sink to the bottom if the viscosity of your honey is typical of most honey. I leave this dipper in my honey pot. I love this dipper. Easy to use and easy to clean.

Q: Would this work for drizzling chocolate or icing?

I’ve not done that, but I suppose it would.
