Excellent! But, it needs full control via app and voice.
Three month update: I still love it! I added a short working video. It's only been down to about 40° so far and it heats as well as it cools. There are a few things I wish were different. There are some actions that can only be performed with the included remote, things that can not be done with voice control or with app control. For instance you can only turn the LED display off or on with their included remote. I confirmed this with their help desk. In heating the directional louver "swing" mode can be turned on or off, but it sometimes can't be set to 'any' or 'preset' positions as it can in cooling mode. I'm not sure why but sometimes it will not move when you turn on swing in heat mode. Sometimes when the inside temp is near the set heating temp the unit blows warm air that feels cool if it's blowing on you. It would be nice to always be able to change the position. Also after the desired temperature is set the blower seems to stay on too long before shutting off until the temperature drops below the setting. Original review: A family member who is an HVAC professional installed this for me. It took about two hours. He didn't mention there being any problems or issues. It worked in cool mode immediately after turning on the breaker and powering on the unit with the remote control. I live in a large tiny house of about 550 sq. ft. with high ceilings. The unit is able to keep the entire house completely comfortable. I use a separate fan to circulate the main room air through the semi enclosed bedroom. It took me four tries to get the wifi connection established. The phone has to connect to the wall unit's setup wifi to make the initial connection between the heat pump and my home wifi. That setup wifi is only available for a few minutes after the breaker is turned on. I didn't know that the first time so I was confused that I wasn't seeing the name in my list of available wifi's. After using google I saw that it needed the main power to be off then on to make it available. You can not just cycle the power with the remote. Even after I did that there was a problem with the first two attempts, I made it through selecting my home wifi and entering it's password twice without success. The app still said the unit was offline. I don't know what I did differently the third time, but it was the charm. The app was then able to control the unit. I enabled the SmartHVAC skill through alexa by searching mrcool, and after running alexa discovery it is now voice command enabled. The indoor wall unit and the outdoor compressor units are both very quiet, especially compared to the window unit I was using before. Most of the noise in the outside video is just the wind. (sorry, only one video per review) (update: I fixed the video) It came in two separate boxes which in my case were delivered at the same time. They did not weigh as much as I had expected. I was able to move them to a better spot on my porch until the installer arrived. He was able to handle both units installation with no other helper.

Efficient and easy to install Mini Split
This is the second MrCool DIY unit I have installed and they have both been pretty easy for a knowledgeable DIY person. A couple of things that I have learned from the first install helped me greatly on the second. Follow the directions closely and read the entire install manual before starting anything (trust me). Make sure to have a helper for the heavy lifting it makes life a lot easier. I bought a mini split line set cover kit off amazon ($30) because the line set is facing the street and I wanted to protect and cleanup the look as well. I poured a small concrete pad using 2x4s as a frame (17”x30”). It required roughly 3 bags of concrete. Might be overkill but I let it cure for a week before using ¼” concrete wedge anchors to secure the unit to the pad. The dimensions of this pad fit the 9k BTU heat pump very well. My house has cement block which I thought was going to be tough to drill through but it wasn't. The key here is to buy a concrete hole saw. I bought mine on amazon for about $20. It drilled right through the wall with my corded hammer drill and light force. If you push too hard the bit will dull quickly. Let the tools do the work. I found the drain line to be a little short so I bought a mini split drain hose extension ahead of the install. (You may not need this but I installed mine high on the wall) You should get a licensed electrician to install the unit. However, the wiring is straightforward. Lastly, the MrCool system is great. The condenser is roughly 4 feet from my bedroom and I cannot hear it running at all. The inside unit is not noisy and the constant air movement (I have mine set to fan ON) helps me sleep while keeping the room at the perfect temperature. The efficiency of the unit has been quite surprising as my electricity bill has reduced compared to this time last year. We no longer cool\heat the entire house to keep our bedroom perfect. The MrCool app works pretty well too. I wish it had an auto off for the LED at night. I hope this helps you. I wish someone had told me some of these things before my first install.

Perfect for My Office!
I installed this mini split in my office, which is set up in a portable building, and it has been absolutely perfect. It keeps the temperature exactly where I want it—cool in the summer and warm in the winter—with no fluctuations. It’s also extremely quiet, which is great when I’m working. My handyman mentioned that the installation was very straightforward, and it didn’t take long to get everything up and running. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this unit and would definitely recommend it to anyone needing reliable heating and cooling for a small space.

Great Unit
Great price. Easy to install as a DIY. It works great. Delivery was quick. My husband put it in his shop. It really keeps it cool in there and puts out a lot of air. Directions were great. He loves the Bluetooth and using his phone to have it nice and cool when he wants to go into his shop. It runs fairly quiet. The display is easy to read. It did take up a fair amount of time to install it and having help is rather beneficial. It is excellent and I would highly recommend.
