Purchasing this item represents some of the best money I've ever spent on Amazon. It's gone through three foot surgeries with me and has yet to fail. Easy on, easy off and my foot stays dry. It is very tight around my calf but I think it needs to be in order to remain leak-proof. Be sure to plan ahead before your surgery and order one.

I wanted to write a review of this cast cover because, despite the high overall rating, I noticed it was listed as frequently returned, which initially made me hesitate. I purchased it after leg surgery while recovering in the hospital, which surprisingly did not provide anything suitable for my cast for showering. We had been resorting to wrapping pads and garbage bags around my cast, which was frustrating. I needed a full leg cover that went up to the top of the thigh because I also had incisions above the knee. I am a 5'10" woman and usually wear an extra large, and the extra large full leg cast cover fit comfortably. I could see this working for someone taller and for people weighing up to 280 pounds or possibly more, especially if most of their weight is not carried in the thighs. The rubber opening at the top is very flexible and stretched easily over my cast and thigh, which was my biggest concern. The cover was longer than I needed and bunched at the bottom, but it kept my leg and cast completely dry. It was also fairly easy to put on and take off, even with one injured arm. The bottom of the cover is slippery (despite what the description says), so caution is needed in a wet shower. Overall, this was a great purchase, and I am surprised hospitals do not routinely provide something like this. I cannot imagine showering with a cast without it!

Unbelievable!! I was able to take a long ,hot shower and my cast is bone dry. Really good quality. Sturdy,fits great!!

Ordered this to have on hand after my foot surgery, and was not disappointed. The good and the bad: Good - the seal was super tight and kept any water from getting to my bandages/wound. Also the bottom had non-slip padding which was a great help in keeping me from falling as I navigated out of the shower. Bad - the seal was super tight which made it challenging to get over my bandaged foot, and sometimes uncomfortable with my swelling. The process of putting it on and getting it off took a little time, but ultimately was worth it since it kept the water from seeping in. The seal did eventually rip after about weeks of use. Honestly, I would definitely recommend this product as the negative stuff was really only a minor inconvenience compared to not having to worry about my foot getting wet while bathing.

Finally, a waterproof leg cast cover for my big foot. The seal works, and I can keep my foot dry in the shower.

A few days after my surgery, I had to take a shower. I could no longer wait. I pondered over different ways to keep my foot dry so I grabbed a reusable grocery bag tied it and taped it. That was highly unsuccessful. I do not recommend doing that. I had to call my doctor and get in that day to get my bandages changed so I would not get an infection. At that time I asked the doctor what were my better options next time I shower? He told me to get a cast guard. Once I got home I researched them on Amazon and read reviews and decided on this one. It arrived quickly, so I did not have to go many days without showering. The plastic seems durable with a nice thickness and the seams appeat to be put together very well the top portion which is a latex glove type material seems taught enough to not let water in. I decided to give it a go. I carefully spread the latex opening apart to get it over my foot and bandages and carefully pulled it all the way up. I was a little leery about the ledge that it leaves to collect water. As I was showering, I kept an eye on it and kept my leg out of direct water as much as possible once out of the shower. I immediately dried the top ledge off, and once I was completely dry, I took off the covering and was extremely happy to find dry bandages there is a little wetness inside along the walls of this covering. I’m sure due to sweating as I took a really hot shower I think going forward I will need to take mildly warm showers as to not create the sweat and risk my bandages. Overall, this was a great product that successfully kept my bandages dry. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone in need. The usefulness and quality of this product is money well spent

I really didn't think it would work... but it worked great and kept my wound completely dry. I used it in the shower over an ankle/foot dressing and the seal held the whole time with no leaks. The non-slip bottom gave me a little extra confidence on wet tile, and it was easy to get on and off without tugging at my bandage. Reusable and well worth it while you’re healing.
