Review: I run a business bookclub on LinkedIn (The Business Bookcase) and this book was our Book of the Month for October. Byron also generously agreed to be interviewed, live, by me alongside. I found the book to be insightful and practical. The concept of living your life "at cause" or "at effect" and the impact that can have on you and your business, as a CEO, is profound when you look into it at depth. Byron provides step by step actions for CEOs to take when they are trying move from reacting to things that might be happening, to a position of pre-activity that allows them to take control of those things that can be controlled. The written style is how Byron thinks and speaks - fast and full of enthusiasm. The key here is not the style but the substance and there is plenty to get your teeth into here if you're a CEO in the difficult position of not being able to take the control that's required. I really enjoyed reading this and got a lot out of it, even though I'm not a CEO. I imagine, though, for first-time CEOs that this is a must read book. It's easy to read and not very long - so ideal for busy schedules. Review: Easily one of the worst written books I have read in recent years. This shows not only how the author has written whatever came to his mind but also how poorly the job is done by the editor. Too much marketing in every chapter . Not worth time and money of any experienced professional.
