Was my favorite bowl - but too fragile
UPDATE: Well, my beautiful bowl lasted a little over a year. It chipped early on, which I decided to live with - first one chip, then a bigger one. Today I found a hairline crack right across it, and another great chip about to fall out. I use this only for baking, never take it out the house, and wash it by hand. I have dish ware that I’ve had for 30 years without any damage. This bowl - much though I want to love it - simply Isn’t strong enough for real use. I won’t be buying another one.By the way, both family members, also careful people, have chips in their bowls now too.*** Original review ***There's a reason the bakers on the Great British Baking Show use this bowl. It's the perfect size for big batches of dough, or anything you want room to mix. It's also pretty enough to use as a serving bowl. Despite the size, it's surprisingly light - this is the magic. I have other bowls of similar size, but they're so weighty that they're difficult to handle. My hand reaches for this bowl without thinking over most of my others.I do wonder how robust this bowl is, and I don't think it would survive a drop or smash, but I've had no issues despite frequent use and washing. I think if you're at least reasonably careful and don't bang it around, it should last well.I've bought this now for two family members for birthday gifts, and they absolutely love them as well.

Beautiful Bowl!
Absolutely beautiful mixing bowl!I had a momentary buyer's remorse where I tried to cancel (in order to upsize to the 6.35 quart version). Luckily it was too late to cancel the item, as this was exactly the size I wanted.I read the concerns about metal utensils leaving marks on the bowl, but my own intention is to use hands, wooden spoons and silicon whisks only. I wanted something big enough for hand working dough and I like the fact that the sides aren't SO tall on this. It will also be a great large salad serving bowl. This piece clearly had the sticker which indicated "Made in Portugal" for those worried about China as the place of manufacture. The bowl is lighter than you would think (for its size and thickness). This is a plus if you are going to hold it and whisk. Still heavy enough to not move around the counter. The glaze is great and even inside and out. Tiny roughness on underside ridges, but this helps it not slide and I don't intend to use it on scratch able surface.

Wonderful Mason Cash bowl
This Mason Cash bowl is very nice! Large enough for a double batch of chocolate chip cookies or mixing a cake without splattering cake mix all over the place. This one is a very pretty caramel color. It arrived much sooner than expected which made me quite happy. I am completely satisfied with all of my Mason Cash bowls. Thank you!

Great bread-making bowl!
I purchased this for bread-making, after my decades old stoneware bowl broke. I thought this bowl would be heavier, but have gotten use to the feel and weight, and I love it. I make two loaves at a time, and this bowl can handle it. Very happy with my purchase!

I love this dough bowl
I purchased this bowl for making dough for bread. I needed a larger bowl that could work for dough proofing. The bowl is light because it is a bit thinner than I would have expected. However, it is a perfect size and has been sturdy. I have used it three times already for my dough making and I absolutely love it!

Do not buy
This bowl arrived broken. There are two obvious reasons. One is that the box did not have a "Fragile Handle with Care" label, and the second reason is that the bowl is a piece of junk. It is half the weight of the past two Mason Cash bowls I had for 30 years - it is a cheaply made knockoff which looked the same in the photo but is not at all the same in quality or thickness; I could tell right away it is way too fragile for a large mixing bowl.Very disappointed in item and in packaging.
