Victron Energy Battery Balancer

I have a 24v series parallel battery bank in my RV. This balancer is the perfect device to make sure all of my batteries are charged equally and remain in balance.

I’m using these to balance my lithium batteries, and so far they’re doing their job really well. Very satisfied with the performance and reliability.

I am so glad I spent the few extra dollars and got this absolutely amazing charger made by the best brand. There is not many high quality DC to DC chargers that can do everything this charger can do. The amazing functions are great I am charging my 24v battery bank in my van from my 12v alternator and it works excellent. With this charger you can charge 12v to 12v, 12v to 24v, 24v to 12v and of course 24v to 24v you can also switch in the app from charger to power supply only and set whatever voltages and amps you desire from 12v+- up to 24v+- and set amps from 0a to 50a and it will provide very stable voltage and current so you can run whatever appliances you want. I absolutely love that I can tweek the charging voltage and amps however I want. I actually have it set for 40amps in and 40amps out because I have it hooked up to my 8 gauge cables that my old 25amp DC to DC charger was on and Victron recommends 6 gauge cable minimum and for longer distances over 15feet they recommend 4 gauge cables, so until I replace my old 8 gauge cables I am keeping the charger at 40amps because I tried 50amps but I had a voltage drop around 8% which is not good at all, if you have a voltage drop of 3% when your charger is charging at full amps than that's fine even 5% is still acceptable but not recommended but if it goes over 5% you need to install thicker cables ASAP otherwise your thin cables will generate a lot of heat and there is a possibility of a fire if the cables have cheap insulation. I highly recommend this charger to anyone and yes it doesn't have an mppt solar charge controller built in like I had in my Schumacher 40amp DC to DC charger but I still wouldn't trade this charger for any other DC to DC charger. Victron once again proves why they're the best brand for Solar, RV and off the grid living electronics. I also have the victron 24v battery balancer and their 300amp smart shunt and they all work beautifully, having the Victron connect Bluetooth app is a huge plus I can monitor and tweek all voltages and amps right in the Victron app. Also the installation was extremely fast and easy, it took me about 15min to install all though I already had cables installed from my previous DC to DC charger. Do yourself a favor and just buy it, you will not regret your purchase because there is no better DC to DC charger out there.

It's bn about a week, here's what I found. If using on lipo battery the bms will make it chatter,between batteries once fully charged. Between A&B hi volt inputs

As I am a fan of Victron, this is one of the items I will give a negative review for. Per the manual as well as the advertisement in the product page, this item can be used in a 48v series configuration of 4x12v batteries. It states you have to purchase 3 in order to do it and provides instructions on how to configure it. I was hesitant because 3 of them makes it about 2x as expensive as buying any of the other units on amazon that will balance all 4 batteries at once. The reason for the 1 star is because the manual does not state how battery balancing works in a 4S series. In a 2S it would work just fine. This balancer only ever balances 2 batteries. It compare each one its connected to and balances them out. Forget the incredibly high voltage required for these to even turn on. Other reviewers have already posted the negatives on that. In a 4S, you need 3 units because the first balances battery 1 and 2, the second one balances battery 2 and 3, and the third one balances battery 3 and 4. The manual would have you believe that the balancers may communicate with each other somehow, but they dont. So battery 1 and battery 3 and 4, Battey, 4 and battery 1 and 2, etc, they dont know about each others voltage. In theory this would work, but im my case, almost always this will balance 2 batteries somewhere, but the ones farthest away end up over .2v off from each other. For example, Batt 1 - 13.50v, Batt 2 - 13.58v, Batt 3 - 13.66v, Batt 4 - 13.74v. If you look, no 2 batteries directly next to each other are off by .1v or more, so balancing will never happen. Batt 1 and Batt 4 are .24v apart. I have noticed that sometimes, the voltages are so off from the left to the right side, that the voltages on the low pair dont always reach a high enough voltage to even turn on in the first place. Sometimes because of the differences, the Internal BMS of the batteries kick on and shut down before the balancers even start working. For a 2S I would recommend these. In a 4S, these are a money pit.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Its victron certain to work Functionality: Works as intended. Does click rapidly around the 27.2/27.3 mark which is just how its works. Immediately solved my lifepo4 24v series balancing issue.

Can't really go wrong with victron, but not the cheapest....

In un contesto isolato serviva un prodotto affidabile, e il Victron non ha deluso. El problema en un sistema Aislado de 24v, con baterías de 12v es que en muchas ocasiones una batería puede estar en 14.1v y la otra en 13.5, entonses si aumentas la carga al estar disparejas la del voltaje más alto se puede apagar por algo voltaje y en el caso de una descarga mayor la de menor voltaje se apagara por bajo voltaje, ocasionando qué no tengas la energía suficiente por voltajes disparejos, ahora que ya tengo el ecualizer battery ya pude aumentar más la potencia flotando mis baterías en 14.1 cada una.

I'm not even sure it works. The led came on once and never again. The instructions aren't a great help either. I am considering sending it back but waiting to see if it magically works again.
