It’s good, but takes getting used to. You don’t want to sharpen straight into the hole. It’s best to hold the lead at a slight angle away from the hole cover to get a consistent sharpen.

the trick to using this is figuring out how much pressure to apply, hint: more then you expect. initially I was dissapointed and didn't think it was doing a very good job of sharpening. but after I got used to it and increased the pressure I was very happy with the result. I love that it is super portable and goes anywhere. I also love that the seal works great and does not leak. this is just perfect for the traveling artist with a 2mm mechanical pencil and a sketchbook.
