I recently went to Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, and England at various hotels. I had no trouble at all while others on the trip were having issues buying cheaper power adapters. I would be in the same boat, however luckily, I was able to rely on the consumer reviews on Amazon to make a smart choice for me.

Got this little gem for our trip to France. Used it to recharge my Garmin watch which I used for a jog from our riverboat to the Eifel tower and back. Worked like a charm on the riverboat's European plugs.

I loved this for the first two trips I used it. Very clever design, and works fine in many outlets. However, just the third time I used it, the UK outlet broke (metal on the end of the prongs snapped off). This not only renders the UK plug useless, but makes it so the whole unit no longer fits together properly. Would hope for a bit higher quality for the price.
