a good frame
So I got this thinking I had a.Alice shoulder set when in fact I don’t I have the suspender tactical, but that’s ok ast his is a nice frame. For the price you can’t beat it for what these go for and I’m able to get straps to make it work. It’s solid and has the military app. Applied it with the contractor it has many mollie slots

Significantly eases the burden of any load yiu can shoulder!
First of all, I am not using this pack frame for it's specific purpose. My primarily use is to upgrade the venerable and beloved A.L.I.C.E PACK with a personal variation of the hellcat mod. I did a lot of research before buying this pack frame. I have been wanting to get back into long hikes and camping in remote locations. I have a camelback internal frame assault pack style bag. While it is quite roomy and robust on organization, is not an external frame bag. And while it suited well for living out of for a day or two at a time in a vehicle or being shuffled around by uncle sam, it is not suited for log hikes with a heavy load. So I turned to the wonderful world of online opinions and was soon drooling over the FILBE they are giving to the Marines these days but damn, they cat a big bag of shiney nickels. And that's used. Without the punches. Or the frame! And sometimes no straps..Just the main pack. Might even be riped and full of holes. I was able to find a new one for about $400 shipped. I know it's worth it but I have KIDS and HOBBIES so that just won't do. Then I was looking at the MOLLE II system and I like that a lot as well. But wish it had as much molle webbing as the filbe does. I like options. It's the red blooded American in me that wants the freedom to make choices and then to later make different choices. The FILBE has a ton of molle webbing to give me that freedom of choice and just seems to leave the MOLLE II wanting for me and I cant find a molle ii cheap enough to justify the purchase. So I found a really good deal on milsurp alice packs and ordered one. Man what a bummer. The frame was unsatisfactory due to wear in ways I felt would make it not last lomg for me. I returned the first and got a replacement in just as bad a shape. So I have to say milsirp alice packs are a gamble and I like to know I am geting what I pay for. But I still need a good camping pack. So I kept looking for new alice packs and on ebay good deals on FILBE packs and I inevitably came across a hellcat for sale. Whats a hellcat? A hellcat is an allice pack modified with molle shoulder straps. But it gets better. Enter my hellcat alice pack Mike's edition. I have added the enhanced molle ii shoulder straps and kidney belt to the gen VI molle ii frame. I intend to put a large alice pack on it but the vendor for the rucksack sent me a medium instead of a large and I have no intention of limiting the scope of the completed pack to light loads. I will also be adding a sleep system pack under the ruck as well as becro side staps fpr walkimg poles amd other gear to long to be packed inside. So going small is not the direction I will ne taking. My philosophy is it's easier to carry less than the bag can hold than to try and fhure out how to carry more than it can hold. So why limit yourself to less than you can personally carry. Just because the bag can hold more does not mean you have to stuff it full. It's nice to have some extra room for unplanned situations. And I love the 6 pockets on the back of the large alice rucksack. 3 larger along the bottom and 3 smaller along the top under the rain flap. These are great for organizing your gear giving you lots of options for ready access to items you don't want to dig for. If the pack is for someone unable to shoulder heavy loads and you don't want the extra real estate then a meduim alice rucksack might be beter suited for them. You still get 3 roomy pockets along the bottom amd the pack could carry enough gear for a day or two in the wilderness. But even then I still recomend this MOLLE II pack frame, and while you're at it the enhanved should straps and kydney belt. They are VERY comfortable. You specifically want a generation four (IV) because it is the newest and is a lot more durable over time and will be less likely to brake from falling or dropping while loaded. While I have just my frame and straps waiting for a sutable ruck to come in (Large, NOT SMALL, the one with all six pockets on the back.) I decided to test the versatility of this pack frame by lashing a 50 cal ammo can full of ammo to the frame and shouldering it. I then walked around my property with it fpr awhile and climbed up amd down some stairs. Pictures attached to show the lashing. I used maybe ten to fifteen feet of paracord I had lyimg around. Startimg center top I went down the sides amd pulld the handle in to the fram then crossed the can to anchor the bottom and cross the fromt again to snjg it all up at the top. Thismwas a heavy load and took some grit timhet it shouldered. But this fra, e carried it well. The high mounted load stabalizing straps pull the frame up tignt to, yoir shoulder to het yiur center of gravity back close to center amd eliminate any sway in the load that would wear yiu down really fast. The enhanced shoulder straps with they sternum strap also snuged theimgs up and in conjunction with the kydney belt I. was anle tomtrek about uo and down stairs with little effort. So I have to conclude that this frame is good to go even without habing am actual pack to mount yet. If you can shoulder the weight, this packframe, in conjunction with a good suspemsion system will eas the burden significantly.

Great For Surplus Or CIF
I previously had another frame for my surplus rucksack but it was damaged in a storm. I ordered this frame as a replacement and it is perfect! It was a good value for a genuine MOLLE II frame. Definitely something I would recommend for a surplus purchase or a CIF turn in if you're in the military.

Nice for the price
This is a dandy little pack frame. Very rigid and lightweight. You can use it with the newer molle pack or the older alice pack. Do a search for the Hellcat pack system. This is one of the components they use. The molle shoulder straps and belt are also excellent. You can buy used alice packs really cheap if you look and then assemble your own upgraded Hellcat system with the components on Amazon.

Cracked frame received.
I bought this frame to replace one with a crack, but it came with a much worse crack. Once a crack starts, like on a car windshield, it will grow with regular use (vibration and wear) and with temperature changes. This ultimately results in a broken frame.

Solid
Solid unit. It works. I was gifted a MOLLE pack and needed a frame. This one fit the bill.

Field tested, lightweight & durable, easily adapts to different types of packs
Good design & frame which will fit multiple types of packs. With additional lashing straps you can hook just about anything to it. Used it to outfit an 85 Liter backpack which needed a frame to support carrying a large load. Put it to the test in the field/woods. It served well.

Hunters delight
I use this for my tethered one backpack. I really love the pack but it's built to ride high on your back and I don't like that. I want it to ride lower so I can use a padded belt strap. I used this frame with some quick links also sold here on Amazon along with latitude outdoors hong on stand straps and belt pad. I feel so much less fatigued walking in and out of the woods with my hunting pack now. It also makes it easier to pick up. It's a store in the back of my truck and the list goes on and on. For 20 bucks you can't go wrong

This frame is the first part of a heavy duty rucksack. For the price, I expected either factory seconds, or prior use. This is brand new and no signs of cracks or any other marks that would make it a 'factory second'. Definitely getting better than I paid for in my opinion. Definitely recommend for those looking for a good frame for their rucksack.
