I prefer to cut the tape, rather than tear it. This is strong tape. It's sticky enough to hold long term, but doesn't tangle.

I thought I needed adhesive but the tape itself activates and melds to itself when applied. Very heavy duty and should last a long time, longer than the plug I covered with it.

I have just made my second purchase of this product. It’s very unique and quite useful in taping things together without adhesive touching the things your are taping. I’ve used it for protecting wiring on vehicles, and also as a temporary solution for holding two pieces if a broken chair leg together while I was repairing it. In the case of the automotive harness, the tape is still there after a year of use, and in the case of the chair, I was able to remove it without damaging the wood. I highly recommend this tape.

idk how long we have been using this stuff, originally not this brand or superior quality and it still worked. I have bad joints on my bathroom line which I repaired with JB Weld absolutely great stuff if you know what you're doing. There's a learning curve and patience involved and that's where most of y'all go wrong. Hope ya don't mind standing about an hour holding a leaking cast iron pipe until curing has almost occurred. Anywho, back to Proxicast. I have my waste water pipe butted up against a huge I beam (I did not build the house) so the only way to access it is to cut the joints and replace and I'm not doing that. I can slip thin Proxicast to seal bends and joints. This stuff is amazing it can be pulled 300% and then wrapped. Be careful with wrapping because it will stick together without glue. Once you place, pull, overlap this stuff you are done. Some say it's a temp fix, I say if it lasts five years it's a permanent fix. I have Proxicast on piping run the sump pump line on the clear discharge line that split six years ago. It's still leak free. The stuff is amazing and as usual I will regret leaving a positive review because you will buy it and the price will go up. I really should just delete this but I guess this is the price I'll pay for bragging rights. Happy "cheap" plumbing fixes.

My project was to seal leaks in 1/2 inch irrigation tubing a) at an elbow joint and b) in two places where 1/4 inch tubing had been removed. After applying the tape, the leaks continued to leak In both cases, apparently because the surfaces were damp or actively leaking as I applied the tape. The tape adhered to itself well, but not enough to complete the seal. The water pressure was between 20 and 30#, but the tubing joints were only dripping when I applied the tape. Plus, I was too impatient to wait for it to stop raining. (My expectations were apparently too high (\perhaps because of TV ads about a different product). Make sure the surfaces are COMPLETELY DRY AND CLEAN BEFORE APPLYIING THE TAPE. I think the tape will work as advertised, but you must adhere strictly to the instructions, which could have been more easy to read if the print were larger.

Wide, strong, and thick. I'm a "Ham" (Amateur Radio), and this stuff is excellent for sealing coax connections. Because of its width, I peeled off some pieces and split them in half for easier use. It's better than what you buy in a hardware store. I also had to splice some underground #12 UF cable to my outbuilding. Sealed repair connections quickly and, I assume, waterproof as GFCI feeding the cable has not tripped. I will repurchase it when this is gone. NOT easy to remove - it is purposely made that way. Has no sticky glue backing to hold it together like black electrical tape. No experience in water leak repair using the tape - yet!

This product goes on and off cleanly, easily, and does not require very much. I use it to secure outdoor connectors on coax connections for ham radio. Make sure to stretch it at one end as you apply it. So far it has taken every element from scorching heat to ice storms. I’ve had instances where I needed to disconnect the connection and getting it off with a box knife was easy and clean. I messed around with Coax Wrap (that other stuff), it was greasy, sticky, and almost permanent mess. I will not be caught without this stuff. As you can see by the video, I have a lot of stuff outside and I put this in every connection
