"The first knife you'll want, the last knife you'll need."
Real knife roll call: 1.Size, check. 2.EDC, check. 3.Price, check. 4.Style, check. 5.Durable, check. 6.Reliablility, check. 7.Blade sharpness, check. 8.Blade locks tight, check. 9.Hilt-opening option, check. 10.Dual-locking for safety, check. 11.Double hilted for slip-protection, check. Recap: 1.Comes smaller but this size is perfect. 2.I don't leave the bedroom without it. 3.Lost one, reordered, would do again. 4.Cool factor style. 5.Built like a brick, carries like a gem. 6.Drop of oil or wd-40 once a year. 7.Comes sharp, stays sharp, no worries. 8.Fixed-blade sturdiness when locked open. 9.Hilt-opening option is very effective. 10.Dual-locking for serious safety. 11.Double-hilted for all-conditions. My wife encouraged me to buy. This knife meets all 11 criteria I demanded in a knife: God is good. No I don't work for CRKT. This knife scores 11 stars out of 11 stars. Brilliant designed and God breathed. I considered buying the newer style colors, however they don't appear identical in make so I reordered the tan-nylon. This knife is worth triple what they're charging. The only con I had with my first knife was user-error-poor-basic-wipe-off-maintenance leading to rust developing inside the aesthetic-circles and minimal rust on the blade which had zero effect on the sharpness and zero effect on how smooth the blade opens. I'll make sure not to leave my second knife in water, which only affected the looks not the use. These pictures are the knife newly out the box and shows the pocket-clip mounted in the "tip-down" position. I usually EDC this knife with the pocket-clip in the "tip-up" position but will experiment with it as it before remounting the clip. Instructions discourage carrying in the tip-up position for hilt-deployment but I have never once had anything close to an issue. This is the best knife on the market for 11 reasons.

Absolutely a great knife. Only slippery scales/handle
Definitely a great knife. Looks great. Sturdy and great design. Very fidgety and has impressive safety feature that prevent knife from closing once is open. It has potential for modifications and improvements. Can be opened in many ways. The only drawback is these scales handle on this model are so smooth one can drop the knife or fail to quickly pull it off the pocket in an emergency. The only thing I would change would be the scales. But I think there are no optional scales available. Not sure about that. But definitely my favorite knife so far

101st ABN Approved
This is my 3rd one of these. I bought my first one at a Ranger Joe's outside of Ft. Banning, GA after infantry school for $130 in 2008 (price has dropped since then). Fell in love with the large blade and aggressive serration immediately. I broke the first one trying to use it as a pry bar to fix a 240b machine gun jam in Afghanistan in 2010 (my fault). Ordered another one immediately and had it on almost every continent in the world until I lost it rafting in the Adirondack mountains this past weekend. This knife is by far one of the most rugged, badass blades I have ever come across. I read the other 2 or 3 star reviews on this knife and was disgusted. "Chips in the serrations after one cut through a rope" and complaints about "opening in the pocket" are not part of my experience. I've used this knife to cut through everything from MRE's to boxes, electrical wire, rope, aluminum cans, and other things that typically destroy an edge. Ive also gotten pretty good at throwing the damn thing after carrying it for the past decade. It's not a thrower but it held up fine. Try throwing a benchmade at a telephone poll a few times and let me know how that goes. This knife is a utility blade and not a bedside "fidget spinner" as it was called or a pocket ornament. Sure, it's picked up a few nicks and scratches along the way but I've always been able to clean the blade up with the right stone. The simplicity of the mechanism is another pro to this blade. Throw some 'lock tite' on the 3 pocket clip screws because they will come loose with daily use. Now that this blade is significantly cheaper, I'm tempted to buy half a dozen just so I don't have to spend another day without one. I will make sure that one of these blades is lowered into the ground with me when I depart. I'd hate to come across a stubborn piece of frozen cheesecake or some demon that needs a good slashin' without my trusty CRKT M16-14SFG.

Durability, Reliability, Question
I’ve owned the CRKT EDC Folding Pocket Knife for years, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. This knife is built for durability and functionality, and it shows in every aspect of its design and performance. The black serrated tanto blade is incredibly sharp and versatile, making it ideal for a wide range of tasks, from daily utility to more demanding work. The blade has held its edge remarkably well over time, it does require sharpening even after years of regular use which is a given. The automated liner safety adds an extra layer of security, giving me peace of mind when carrying or using it. The G10 handle is both tough and comfortable to grip, even in challenging conditions. I also appreciate the dual hilt design, which offers excellent control and prevents my hand from slipping. The 4-position pocket clip is another thoughtful feature, allowing me to carry it exactly how I prefer. This knife has been part of my daily carry for years, and it still functions flawlessly. The build quality is outstanding especially for the price and it’s clear that CRKT designed this knife to last. Whether you’re looking for a reliable EDC tool or a knife for more specialized tasks, the M16-14SFG is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for anyone seeking durability, performance, and overall great quality!

Good knife
Really nice knife and feels big, weighty, and solid, no blade play at all and I like the double locking system, its easy to disengage one handed. The veff serrations cut really well and I find myself using them more than the rest of the blade. The coating gets dirty very easily but looks very nice, the knife feels very strong and can definitely handle being beat and the blade deploys quickly but maybe just flick your wrist with it a little when opening. Mine came used and had a beat box with what looked like blood on the inside but that was just one so good knife:) heres a picture of it next to my very used CRKT M16-01KS

Ok, but made offshore not USA $$$$
This knife is ok. Thats all. something weird about this knife. I handled my son's same k ife and his seems beefier. I thought it was made in the USA. Thats why I paid just under 100.00. I have many other knives that are available for half that or less that are of same or better quality that are made overseas in China. My bad..I should have checked before spending that much on a knife made in Taiwan. Same as China, no way of really knowing where it actually cane from. no serial numbers on knoves anymore. I think that the pocket clip is installed in the wrong location of the 4 places that available for mounting The knife is designed so that if the clip is placed at the butt end the blade can be deployed as you pull it out of you pocket and hook the guard on corner of pocket like some knives are made to do. And the clip is cheesy not a robust pocket clip, you know the kind you can't bend if you happen to catch it on somwthing? I will just unscrew and change the clip to the butt end. The knife looks good. not heavy. But this can not be compared to the larger G••ber Combat Folder. Should have just bought another one of those or The 06 auto thats still available on line. thatt knife is robust and made in the USA for sure. My though is it would make a better hunting knife for field dressing deer etc rather self defense or combat use. The FDE is about 25.00 more than the black one which I also purchased. The price is still a bit on high side for an offshore knife. look before you leap, as there are so many much better knives for a lot less if you are going to buy offshore made knives. Actually maybe even a made in USA Cold Steel. the videos of thier locking mechanisms are unreal!! Just sad that I was tricked again. CRKT used to have some pretty nice well built stuff. Looks like another knife co. is about to bite the dust. its my fault for not going to a shop and really checking the knives out first and the prices. I recommend doing just that go to a sporting good shop or hunting shop or tactical shop and really look over and feel and check out the knives before you buy.

One very tough knife!
I didn't really know what to expect when I ordered this knife. I have never had a CRKT product before. I did the research and finally placed the order with a vendor here on Amazon. When the knife arrived I knew immediately that it was going to be something special. It has good heft, it feels great in the hand and well balanced. But a lot of knives can say that. But this one just had "special" written all over it. When I first opened the knife I was very surprised that it opened so smoothly and easily, but not too easily as to be a pain or trouble at the wrong times. It opened crisply when I flipped it out and it locked in place without hesitation and was ready for use right then. The two tabs at right angles to the blade allow the blade to be flipped open quickly and easily and when the blade locks open they provide a very secure blade guard to keep the hand from slipping off the handle. This feature alone was one of the primary factors in my purchase and it did not disappoint me. Probably the biggest surprise was how tight and secure the entire knife was when it was open and locked. I know the descriptions said it was going to be pretty tight but this was amazing! The knife, when opened, is the closest thing to a high quality fixed blade that you will ever find. There is no wiggle, no movement of any kind at the pivot point. It is tough with no rotational give to the blade. It doesn't twist. It is true this knife is big and it takes a lot of room in your pocket if you carry it there. One thing that users should be aware of at the begining. If you wear the knife in the point down manner inside the pocket, you need to be careful when withdrawling the knife. If you pull on the convienently placed tabs at the top of the knife, instead of on the body of the knife, it is very possible for the blade to be rotated out of the body in a partially open position inside the pocket. That won't happen if even pressure is used on both tabs but just be aware of that possibility. There have been some comments about having problems folding the knife back to the closed position. I am able to close this knife with one hand. Now it is not as fast as some of my other knives but for the security it provides in the locked open state, this is not a problem IMHO. The handle surface has good texture and I expect it to last a long time. This knife is truely a high quality knife that can be depended on when things get dicy. I'm very glad I bought it and will be looking at other CRKT products in the future.

CRKT KNIFE REVIEW
This is the perfect EDC tactical knife. Double lock to prevent accidental closure. Double hilt to prevent hands slipping o to the blade while in use. Tanto point will easily go through a metal a.mo can. Blade holds a razor sharp edge. Quality overall is top notch. Price is very reasonable. I strongly endorse all CRKT knives and have e several other models
