The Testo 552 is a digital vacuum measuring instrument for the evacuation of refrigeration systems and heat pumps. It measures even the smallest absolute pressures and provides highly precise information on the status of the dehumidification of a system (removal of foreign substances, incl. Oils or foreign gases). the Testo 552 is the only digital vacuum measuring instrument whose absolute pressure sensor, in contrast to other sensor technologies, no longer needs to be serviced, and still provides highly accurate measurement results. Thanks to the battery life of up to 2400 hours with two conventional AA batteries, you can use the Testo 552 in continuous operation for 100 days without changing the battery. Its robust construction makes it suitable for daily use, and protects from dirt and water. made in United States. Manufactured by Testo, Inc. Review: This gauge is completely useless. The calibration is way off - This gauge is completely useless. The calibration is way off. Not even the ambient temperature display is correct, let alone the micron readings. I have sent one back already and am now sending back the replacement, as it is just as bad. Neither of the two gauges I have tried worked. Both were off on their calibration and neither would hold a vacuum. If you were thinking of getting this gauge for HVAC work, you would be better off getting almost any other vacuum gauge out there. The only redeeming quality of the gauge is the sturdy build. Unfortunately, you would never keep it long enough for that to matter. Review: I love it - Excelent product. Thanks

BEWARE
Bought this from johnstone supply. DO. NOT BUY THIS. I sent first one back and got it back after being "calibrated" and it is still hundreds of microns off. I have a testo 557 guage set and a testo ref leaf detector and they are GREAT so I tried this and I guess imma just eat the 180$ I spent cause I'm sick of it

great piece of equipment
I own 2 of these and use them almost every day in the industrial refrigeration industry, if you read the directions correctly and follow the calibration procedure this item works like a champ and is actually more accurate than the field piece which I own one of so if your looking for reliable quality products Testo is what you need
