We got a cutco knife as a gift. I was going to sell it on eBay but then noticed it has our names on it. So we used it. On a lovely July day, husband cut a small watermelon and somehow, cut into his thumb. Not across it but from the top of it down into it. Honestly inexplicable how he did it. Defies physics. $500 and stiches later he swore he'd never use the knife again. Fast forward to thanksgiving and I can't find the electric knife and the turkey is some tough beast and so I whip out the cutco and start hacking but then I have to attend to something and the old hubster takes over and wouldn't you know it? Not two minutes in and he's storming out of the kitchen saying I TOLD YOU I DON'T WANT THAT KNIFE. sure enough, he's sliced into his thumb. The same one. Not as bad this time, but really? And here's the kicker. Many years ago he used to work at Boston market cutting chickens. It's not the first time he's used a knife. How is this happening? But enough of my family's drama stories. You're reading this because you want to know about these gloves. Fast forward to Christmas. Santa is worried about this man's thumb. I mean, maybe it is the knife. Maybe it's the user. But regardless, we can't wait until he loses his thumb all together because of a cantaloupe can we? So santa puts a pair of these gloves in my husband's stocking. Hubby doesn't think it's as hahaha as I do, but Santa is smart. He knows what this man needs. And so the gloves hang out in a drawer with the oven mitts and they are worn whenever major cutting is done. And they make everyone feel safer. And yes, we still have the cutco knife. I mean, it has our names on it.
